Just because this post gets lost in the sheer volume of pre-con panic threads another wee reminder Today is the day! 7pm-ish Crown and Sceptre! Being held in the Cellar room, if you get lost in the pub just say it's for London Film and Comic Con. Everyone is more than welcome. Couples, groups of friends, solo attendees (especially solo attendees, that's how this meet-up formed last year as we were all in London alone. Around 30 off us decided to bite the bullet and turned up last year to meet. The rest is history!) Even if you're only popping in for a quick hello and chat to fellow con geeks, for a wee bite to eat or for some drinking and merry-making it doesn't matter, all welcome! I will probably be there a little earlier just to make sure everything is alright with the room etc. Hope to see y'all soon Jen x

The time draws nigh... Only a mere few days until the meet on Thursday :) Just to re-iterate - there is nothing planned for during the day. Now that a Thursday pick-up for passes has been confirmed this is very positive indeed as many of us felt it was helpful last year. At 7pm we have the cellar room in the Crown and Sceptre to eat, drink and be merry. Everyone is more than welcome (again especially Michael Madsen...) Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and the new ones too. I'm flying down to London tomorrow for a conference over the next few days then once that's finished let the fun begin! Props are fun In 2014 my mate stood holding a bloodied fake ear with Michael Madsen...Michael didn't look impressed at all Years ago at Cardiff comic con I took a sonic screwdriver into the shoot with me for Paul McGann. I asked him nicely would he mind holding the screwdriver. He took it, put his arm around me and whispered into my ear "Let's save the world together" my very subtle reply was "GGNNAAAAHHHHHHHH....."

Hello :) May I direct you to the meet-up i've organised for Thursday the 27th July? Absolutely everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. We had a great time last year getting to know each other and personally as a solo attendee I felt it made the whole con experience during the day a lot better because there was always someone around to chat to in a queue that I had met the night before!

Hello my lovelies :) After much deliberation regarding the Thursday during the day I have made a decision. Originally the thought months ago was to do a scavenger hunt but unfortunately there wasn't enough people to form adequate teams to get the full experience. The replies I got last week regarding times that people are arriving made my mind up that there isn't going to be a meet-up during the day, just an evening thing. That being said, John1980 and I are meeting at 12pm in front of the London eye if anyone is free and wants to join us. My hope is that Showmasters announce pass pick-up times for the Thursday like they did last year. However it took quite a while for the pick-up process last year and I felt slightly harassed at how short of time we were after our late afternoon jaunt around London. Also on a personal note this will be the first time I'll be meeting my beau in almost 5 months and want a nice wee quiet moment before the craziness of the con commences.... I love you guys...but I love him more But the Thursday evening is all set! It is being held once again in the Crown and Sceptre at 7pm. We have use of the cellar room which holds up to 50 people, plenty of room so invite your friends! I need to know about 2 weeks in advance who is wanting food. Just so I can let the C&S know if it looks like there will be a large food order. Please either tell me via this thread or on Facebook if you have me :) I just feel it's really good that we can have our own private safe space to be free to geek out without fear of persecution I'm thinking of bringing cards against humanity to play and trying to think of other wee party/fun things. Regarding music, it will either be just what the pub are playing or I borrow their soundbar and you can listen to my very eclectic choice of music. So looking forward to seeing all your lovely happy faces once again x

Hello Gazths :) I'm just gonna reiterate what everyone else has said here, comfy shoes, plenty of fluid and mostly be prepared, my meticulously planned schedules always go out the window when I actually get into the con but it's the thought that counts....right? Also I dont think it's been mentioned yet but if you are travelling down alone there's a few meet-ups happening outside of the con in the evenings. Thursday the 27th there is a gathering of geeks at 7pm in the Crown and Sceptre. We have a separate wee thread on here and on the Saturday our king of the geeks PenthePirate is hosting a fabulous pub quiz again. Don't worry, we dont bite

I'm definitely up for meetups during the weekend! Include me in! I am certainly up for a wee meet! great idea for solo travellers

Also, for the Saturday fortunately I'm still holding on to my goth days so have quite a few corsets and ye olde ruffled skirts kicking around the house, that could do for the Victorian theme. Friday i'm slightly stumped. I'm also very aware that what i'm wearing I will also have on at the drinks receptions with the guests and I dont want to look like a pillock

Definitely the atmosphere, personally for me there is no happier place in the world than being thrust into the entire chaotic world that is a con :) I have met some unbelievably wonderful people at LFCC and they have made my little world a heck of a lot brighter. They make it special.

I can't stop thinking about the drinks reception!!!
