Carl Froch ignored the advice and signed it anyway I've done guest assisting before, I have told a guest that only 1 has been paid for when they've tried to get another once before. They proceeded to sign the item anyway. I've even pointed it out to the guest afterwards that they shouldn't have signed it and they said "it was my choice" What can you do? Rip the item out of the guests hands? You were honest Kieron, tuck60 was not. The blame lies with him for trying, the assistant pointed it out to Carl that he had only paid for one (they didn't simply do nothing as you're implying), Carl decided to do it anyway. You are right to be aggrieved but as I said, I think you're blaming the wrong people here

I'm still waiting for you to explain how exactly you would have stopped Carl from signing the second item. Yes it was wrong but I think you're blaming the wrong person/party in all this

The guy said in his opening post "I had only paid for item and the lady with him pointed this out but he was more than happy to sign the second item anyway" He was told no but he proceeded anyway. So what would you have done in that position that was different? Used physical force? Please enlighten us

If the guest agrees to do it, what can you do? The attendee was the one who was out of order here though not SM, they should never have asked the guest

Have you ever tried convincing people to actually DO this? I've worked photo distribution in the past and no amount of asking, pleading or telling will get people to move sometimes. And if you raise your voice at all or attempt to (gently) physically move people out of the way/back from the table, they then come on here and whine about how the crew were 'rude' to them. Polaroid is the answer

2 photo shoots, a talk and a lunch and still got it to open Q with 3 minutes to spare - awesome!!

Time constrictions mean its not always the guests that request no photos (Karen Gillan being a great example)

I'm afraid I think it's the pens which also disappointed me. I got 5 from her, 4 in black and 1 in silver. The silver one came out fine, the black ones came out faded. Assisting crew should have been all the ball at that one and giving her a new pen every 30 minutes or at the merest sign of fading/streaking to ensure the best autographs for the paying punters. Nothing worse than forking out a ton of your hard earned cash for streaky/fading auto's. We were supplying her new pens as fast as we could get hold of them. As soon as it was apparent the pens were fading, new ones were requested and supplied but, as you can appreciate, that doesn't happen in seconds.

They did the same for Shatner and Tyson last year. I was at the front "pushing" both those Q's as I was Karens Saturday and from my perspective, it works brillantly for the reasons many have stated already. I can see the whole Q, know everyone in it has paid and is there to see the guest, stop photos (if necessary) and I can stop people coming in through the exit. I think with the bigger guests this is going to be a regular set up.

Well, I'm open to the idea that I was mistaken. Anyone else got a final(ish) tally to report for Karen? According to this post she got up to VT1399 and then went open queue right at the very end. That was how it ended up. Everyone who was there til the end got an autograph

You should have been there on saturday, it was heaving. Very hard to get around at some points. Sunday was noticably quieter though still buzzing and busy. The guy in the red top was idris. The guy in the blue top was either Alex or myself (I was the one at the front but either way your welcome - glad you had a good time and got to meet Karen) Can I just add my thanks to all those in karens q. It was great to speak to many of you and you made my job very easy :) :) (so did karens signing speed lol) Probably spoke to all of you at some point. I was almost at the front at the start of the day and you kept us very well controlled and amused while we were waiting. I think you said you could have had a worse job than being near her most of the day. Just annoyed I had to rush off to a photoshoot and miss her arriving but it all worked out great in the end. Yeah that was me, such a hardship Saturday lol
