So it has been about a month since the show.... And we are regreting spending the equivalent to a half a month's salary on what we thought was a proffesional and courteous company. We' ve really enjoyed Showmasters' previous events so we thought it's safe to purchase in May for a Nov event despite the pandemic.

So we send in multiple items on pre- order, stupidly some were original posters, vintage comic and an original LP cover.

From 4 orders the two small ones for Jo Martin from Sep have indeed arrived. Thank you for these! Signed for mind and not special delivery as paid in our order.

Everything else( Alice Cooper, Ben Browder, Veronica Cartwright, Tom Skerritt, Robbie Coltrane, Nick Frost, Ernie Hudson- orders 1716 and 1795 )...missing. One item (Ben Browder vintage comic, meant to be a Christmas gift for a Covid ward doctor friend who has had a very tough couple of years) was actually sent out and has now been stuck in the post for 9 days with no update.

Now I understand you work with volunteers and the post is experiencing difficulties because of covid....but you are a business at the end of the day and you have our money. We have followed your instructions and send the no roll over email asking for refunds as we certainly do not plan on purchasing any pre- orders again. And since Alice Cooper cancelled as early as October then why no refund still in December please?

To top this we just discovered PayPal no longer allows us to open cases for the orders you have not sent out wich is very disconcerting. If you do not return our items, they get lost or you don't refund our only option is to report to the bank and met anti-fraud, which we really don't want to do as you have given us some great moments in the past.

So please don't tells us off when we ask for information in emails but refund our money and send us our items back. We think this is only fair. Thank you.

PS. Funny enough we had a problem posting on here with the word refund in the topic. Once that was removed the topic went trough.

Hi InsO. Unfortunately no direct Showmasters people read this forum any more so your only option is to keep sending emails I'm afraid. I'd say send an email every week until you get your items back, because the service is just not acceptable. Anything they say about volunteers is just lousy excuse making - they're not a flipping charity shop.

They have your stuff! They have plenty of other people's stuff! It can't be that hard to send things out!

    Exclamation mark!

I'd come by for Secombe, Garrigan and Hirst who are all Sunday only, but I won't be there before 5 so... Then again, I've got nothing to lose since I bought my Sunday ticket months ago. So fingers crossed

At the very least you can take a look around. Have a look at the stalls. Maybe see some cosplayers. Pull faces at whatever guests are still there.

  3. Those terms posted don't actually say they won't give a refund, just that they don't automatically give them any more, instead they have the voucher scheme. Although they don't explicitly say that they will give refunds either, they will if asked (and hopefully after things have calmed down after this weekend they'll be quicker doing so).

Sorry if this has been discussed previously but does anyone know if you can use these to buy vouchers for autographs at the sales desk at the event? Thanks

    Unfortunately not.

What can I spend my vouchers on?
You can use your voucher on any ticket within an online Showmasters Eventbrite shop. We are looking at being able to make these redeemable for other areas of our events such as for Showmasters merchandise, at the sale desk and for pre-orders. You will not be able to redeem the voucher an any non Showmasters dealer stands or venue concessions.

When these are eventually processed do we have to spend the amount in one go or does the Eventbrite system recognise there could be still money left on it and keep it open?

    Cheers

It's a bit of a complicated system but no, you do not have to spend it all in one go. In fact, you can only buy one ticket at a time using your vouchers, then you will be issued with a new voucher. I've no idea if the new voucher will arrive straightaway or if you have to wait.

What if I don’t spend all of my voucher at once?
This is fine. You will receive a new voucher for any remaining balance not spent for use at a future date.

Please can someone help me with the last post I put up would really be helpful don't know what to do

I hate to be pedantic (he said, lying) but technically it was your last but one post.

I'm not sure this has been said before I have 2 tickets for the full weekend and only I can make it can I refund the other one for vouchers??

Technically it would depend on when you bought them. If it was before the date change(s) then yes, you definitely would be entitled to a refund/vouchers. If you bought them once the date was finalised then the terms would say that you are not entitled, but I would still ask for one anyway (and not mention when it was you bought them).

Unfortunately, either way your only option is to email to request this. Make sure to be very clear that it is only one that you need vouchers for.

hrmmm. are they allowed to advertise her as attending, as well as selling photo op tickets for her if she hasnt been confirmed yet?

The communication has been so awful nobody knows if they are false advertising or not. I'm not sure even SM know. At the moment it'll just be a fun surprise to see who actually turns up. Or not so fun.

  8. There's no point them announcing anything yet, as with two months to go and still so much uncertainty with potential Covid rules there's every chance it would change.

I'm sure SM will want photoshoots as normal as possible, but they'll have to decide what measures are appropriate nearer the time.
