  1. I only found it Sunday by which time I was too late to get a VQ with a low enough number. Went on Friday to do a bit of recon and was told there was no level three it just looks like that on the plan. This was buy the staff of the Olympia itself. Once I was on level three another member of Olympia staff also told me there was no way down even though it was clearly marked as the down staircase an I had already been down once! I ignored him and told someone on the next level down that he was giving out false information. Some of the staff are just part timers so are poorly trained and informed. There was always going to be issues with it spread over so many different levels and areas.
  2. If it's the guy I'm thinking of, tall with glasses? Yes he was very helpful, clear and cheerful. His voice carried well. Thank you for your effort. I thought the photoshoots on the whole worked well. Glad they were called in batches so there was no need to queue up unnecessarily with no idea what was going on.
  3. I thank you for the floor plan. My feet on the other hand don't. I'll probably lose a stone walking up and down stairs this weekend. It's gona make it interesting. I actually like the look of the balcony. Might be a bit warm on the upper levels though.
  4. I can see that being helpful. Further down the line though it is still confusing. There have been times when staff have made their way down the queue to explain but 10 ft away you can't hear because of the background noise.
  5. Agree there, as it's a new venue it's impossible to say what the layout might be. Could be clearer though.
  6. Megaphones. Been a few years now and every year I think that it could be made clearer outside the photo studios who and what people are queuing up for. Everyone is asking each other "is this the queue for..." And it's like Chinese whispers. No one is sure because try as you might you can't hear the staff at the front of the queue. So megaphones, good idea or no?
  7. i don't really want to debate to the ignorance bit but they must be blind as well because its printed on the e-tickets and stands out a mile as there is very little print on tickets#please noteone ticket=exchange for ONE entry Tickets are non refundable and non transferable. tickets only valid on date stated I see your point. Does it also state that on the e-tickets? I honestly didn't think to look and was blissfully ignorant until recently. Again it just highlights the need for a buy back system. If people have a genuine reason that they cannot go then the tickets shouldn't go to waste. My main point is though that you shouldn't tar everybody with the same brush. Just because they've put a tickets on eBay doesn't automatically make them a money grabbing tout.
  8. There's a lot of outcry here for these people to be punished. You understand that a lot of these people probably aren't aware that the tickets are non-transferable and are just blissfully ignorant. I didn't know until it was highlighted on here. Again not everyone reads these boards. We are in the minority. You have to give them the benefit of the doubt unless they have many many tickets listed under the same eBay account. You shouldn't automatically assume these people are all touts.
  9. i beleive they've already said this is for next year.Yeah I read that but also read they are doing spot checks. So which is it?
  10. You do realise that not everyone reads this forum? It is unfair and impractical to introduce anything at this point because at best only 10% of people will know about it. I've bought all the tickets for both myself and my partner. Everything is in my name and if she needs to be at a different photo op to myself then the fact she has a ticket should be proof enough.
  11. If an event sells out there are going to be people trying to make money off the back of it. Any extra measures you introduce to cut this down will only bring about there own problems, longer queues need for ids etc. it's too late to do anything about it for this event but whatever you decide to do make sure you put out that information way in advance of the next event and preferably before tickets go on sale.
  12. Ok thank you anyway. I understand things can change on the day especially seeing sits a new venue. I'm prepared to be flexible and take it as it comes. Nothing but respect for all the volunteers at LFCC. I don't envy your job.
  13. Just a general enquiry as to how queues are going to be organised. I understand that to get people in it might be first come first serve. If we are queuing in batches is there adequate room for queuing? Has this been looked at? Last year the queue crossed over each other many times and then down the escalator and out the door. We were in the first couple of hundred of people waiting but ended up being near the back when we were seated because others ended up just getting let in to clear the crowd. I'm not trying to have a dig I just want to sus it out so not to be disappointed.
  14. Ok so I just read that paid talks will be seated in batch order but this may change to first come first serve on the day. My question now would be have you had a look at how you will organise queuing at the new venue? I'm still having nightmares about the queue for the Stan Lee talk last year.
  15. Has Milla Jovovich ever appeared at a showmasters con?
  16. Two years ago, after the succes of Veronica Taylor and Charles Martinet, Showmasters said they'd bring more voice actors over as they proved to be succesfull. We haven't seen any announcements since though (but Veronica Taylor did attend a smaller Showmasters con if I'm not mistaken). You're not the only one keeping his fingers crossed for voice actors Ah right thanks for the info. Yeah I think they would be more popular than expected. I'd be more excited about them than some of the more current TV guests made popular by what's big on TV at the moment, because of the rarity. Like you said fingers crossed.
  17. Sorry if this has already come up, was just wondering what your thoughts are on getting some notable voice actors to attend? Kevin Conroy and Troy Baker spring to mind for their massive contributions to DC animated adaptations. Have these made an appearance in the UK before or been considered by showmasters?
  18. Brace yourselves for more inevitable cancelations...
  19. I messed up. I ordered a standard photo op instead of the Delorean one. Was in a panic at work and did it on my phone. Any advice?
  20. As long as the queues are separated well and it's easy to tell what queue you are joining it should be fine. It's just when queues merge and no one seems to know what queue they are actually joining then things can go wrong. If it works out it's better for me. Thanks for the info.
  21. Trying to get my head round this. On the face of it it seems to make sense but I can't help feeling this might lead to a lot of confusion on the day.
