  1. We are soooo going to clash. Let me know what shoes and handbag so at least we are a little different. ill be going with a splendid seasonal t-shirt complete with a transformers motif, a faux-ripped pair of denim trousers and a decadently stylish pair of hide moccasins. in other words, mate...Jeans, T-shirt, Boots... unless, i get my finger out and start a costume pronto.. you not considering dressing up for the first time? i read somewhere you dont cosplay?... You read somewhere? Damn my publicist, for that to be leaked to the general public is of great concern Nah, its not that i won't, id just be a big bag of sweat on the day if I did. Never (ever) been to anything like this before, don't know a soul there and I'd worry myself into feeling like 12lbs of manure in a 10lb bag. Think I'll stick with the handbag idea

  3. Now now children, don't get snobby over films and movies, its whatever strikes a chord inside and thats that. Don't be getting all soapboxy
  4. I really enjoy the chat on here even though its a wee bit sporadic, so was wondering what your first introduction (or memory) was to Sci-Fi (or whatever you want to call this wee slice of our universe). Not necessarily your FAVOURITE but just that first time Sci-Fi dipped a hook in your mouth. I remember being entranced with the Star Trek films, not so much the TV shows but my parents would always get all the lights off, popcorn, treats etc for when the early ST films would appear on terrestrial telly. I quite liked the TV shows when i caught them but as a kid it was all about the movies themselves. In terms of 'comic/animation' (other than being an AVID Beano collector) I remember my friend showing me some Manga back in early 90's. Guessing it would have been Akira but it wasn't even close to mainstream so I found it hard getting into it even though I enjoyed it. I fancy getting back into it but Comic shops scare the pants off me and I feel I've nowhere to start to get back into it. Anybody willing to share their first memories?
  5. Nice! BB I sent you a message on twitter yesterday btw :)
  6. Whereabouts would that be in Glasgow? Just wondering if we have ever crossed paths as im here just about 24/7 :)
  7. Hayley Atwell (for Captain America but mainly because I heart her......)
  8. Has an idea for a weekend ticket ever been mooted? I was really surprised by the prices btw, really reasonable. Thats not an excuse to hike it up
  9. You girls and your hair talk, just cant escape it even when false
  10. She's far from easy, she keeps knocking me back
  11. lets just not have the after party in The Waterloo on Argyle.
  12. Good call. Plus the amount of Scots/Brits (in The Hobbit in particular) was huge.
  13. Mine arrived at the pub yesterday too, cheers! Will post as many as I can around Falkirk/Stirling./Glasgow
  14. Ann, think you are right. Id prefer drinks to be seperate night from Cinema personally. Get to know people first before trying the old arm round the shoulder routine The 'blander' pubs in town where we could fit a decent amount of people are ones like Auctioneers, Sloans, Any Wetherspoons of which there are 86 etc. My choice would be Horseshoe (being there most days) as its friendly etc. We can have a think as it depends what day of the week so we can all get a good sized area together. Ann, meant to say, I fired over a twitter request but seen it was locked so that was me :) (PS Welcome to Glasgow!)
  15. Right, thats it. Im coming in August as Freddie Mercury....
  16. Cool, if anyone fancies a wee chat or nonsense im on @vodkawrestling Cheers!
  17. I am digging out my old Tron VHS (look it up kids) for this one. Woohoo. This reeks of awesomeness
  18. Just seen this post and had to have a wee giggle reading from start to finish. On, off, on, off :) Great idea though. These things in general go well with food and drink, makes it less awkward when you can excuse yourself to toilet/bar/food every so often and take stock :) I don't know a single soul but as long as just a laugh and getting to know people I'd love to join in.
  19. Sorry man, I always forget sarcasm (the highest form of wit) reads poorly on forums. If you DONT scare my son I'll have more of an issue. It's to be encouraged. Even if you give the wee bugger a few sleepless nights I'm still way ahead on the nightnurse-o-meter.
  20. As a father or a 2yr old, kids can get spooked by anything from a Monkey costume to Santa, its about what the Cosplay person is doing at the time. Lifting the character OUT of the horror type situation and you just have a dude (or dudette) dressed up. Respect you thinking of the kids though, it was worth bringing up but as long as Kruger isnt creeping up behind them in a dark corridor it should be fine. I'd guess Kids going along would just see it as another Halloween? (less the sweets and cash )
  21. As a first timer to the event it wont be on my list of things to do, but cant wait to see you all taking the time and effort to look so good. Might give me ideas for the year after :)
