  1. Sorry to hear of his passing and at such a young age too. RIP Aron.
  2. Gripping true-life story of a top KGB officer who spied for the UK. A fascinating insight into post-war spycraft on both sides of the Iron Curtain and how the actions of one person could affect world politics. Superb.
  3. Just seen this. A giant of classic who. RIP
  4. Just finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider which was good but the story campaign felt a bit short. Have got a loan of COD Advanced Warfare on PS4 ( had played it on PS3 previously). Enjoying playing it again. The lead voice actor is unsurprisingly absent from the redesigned box artwork.
  5. I remember enjoying that two-parter but in order to contribute more fully to this thread I'd need to go and watch the episodes in question again and tbh I'm too lazy to put the effort in. I enjoy reading the thread though!
  6. Let's go retro once more. A 1967 crime/war thriller featuring Omar Sharif as a German Major (?) investigating the murder of a woman in 1942 Warsaw who happened to be a German agent. It becomes clear that the killer is one of 3 German Generals. Great cast: Donald Pleasance, Charles Gray and Peter O'Toole as the Generals, ably supported by Tom Courtney, Joanna Pettet, Patrick Allen and Ealing favourites John Gregson and Gordon Jackson as German officers (that took a bit of getting used to). Harry Andrews and Christopher Plummer make appearances too. A solid thriller-recommended.
  7. "Dead Men" was pretty average, but it rekindled my interest in Scott. This is a much more straightforward biography and is proving to be a great read.
  8. To me anyone under 50 is a youngling ☺
  9. I've just watched Star Wars (A New Hope to you youngsters) for the first time on blu ray...
  10. Had a good day-met John Levene, George Roubicek, Derren Nesbitt and Christopher Lambert who were all very nice. Crew were all great too. Got mainly DVD covers signed; was hoping Derren would have a "Blue Max" pic on the table but I had my "Where Eagles Dare" cover as a backup. George signed a "You Only Live Twice" cover. I brought a red Sharpie for John to sign "inferno". I also got a 8 x 10 David Tennant auto from Sue & Mark. My daughter loved meeting CL and she found plenty of Anime stuff to splurge on at the stalls. Will just post a couple of pics.
  11. I've only ever had 2 autographs authenticated. If you can get a photo of the guest signing your item that's good provenance if you're planning to sell them.
  12. John was an absolute delight-one of the nicest guests you could meet. So much so that I went back and got a second auto from him!
  13. Some interesting Doctor Who rumours flying around...
  14. Good read so far-young Roger was quite the entrepreneur with his tailoring and sandwich ventures!
  15. Apparently the Russians have made their own TV drama series about Chernobyl which suggests it was all a CIA plot!
  16. A great actor-his performance in Blade Runner was brilliant. Rest In Peace.
  17. I haven't seen the trailer yet, but from what I've read online, I think you're right.
  18. I'm led to believe it's a direct sequel to T2 and ignores the subsequent films. Apparently Ed Furlong is on board too.
  19. Have returned to an old favourite- COD WWII multiplayer.
  20. Freddie Jones has passed away aged 91. A fine actor, he will be sadly missed. RIP
  21. Shame it's folded down the middle but still chuffed with this.
  22. Been looking for Jurgen Prochnow as Duke Leto for a while and got this from Germany (hoping it's authentic!)
