  1. Yup. With an event like this one, the principal guests (Captains) are just tooo busy to chat much. I always feel a handshake is appropriate and isn't too much for a guest to achieve - Swift and job-done, shame some didn't feel "they had the time", particually when they are earning huge sums for the event and they get a % of the signing/photo fee.
  2. You're quite right there ! SM may have slipped in some text in the programme or a put a few posters around saying "this is being filmed, let us know if you object."... Didn't see anything.
  3. Lets see what SM say. I'm sure they would love to produce and release such a DVD and as you say it would be an EXCELLENT momento. I have to say tho', it's a nightmare to achieve, getting permission from the actors and negotiating with their agents. Financial negotiations are just one element, they would also have to argue about their billing, how much "airtime" they get, agree *never* to show certain pieces where they (in their opinion) look unflattering at a certain angle etc etc., it really is a headache !!!
  4. I would suggest someone at SM should formally respond to this thread to confirm, but I understand this will not be possible due to contractual reasons. Prior to any event the actor (well, more likely their agent) will need to approve such filming, and distribution, agree their fee's for this element of the work (up-front fee, royalties), and agree where (demographically) it will be released, it's price, it's release date and possible duration, and many more factors. As you can see, there's a lot of contractual fluff to process. It's possible SM may package together something in future, but there's a lot of legal stuff to get through, some actors may refuse permission (lets say for example Patrick refused his permission for the 5-Captain talk, then the piece would be dropped or him somehow "edited-out" !). Of course, most of these actors are vastly, vastly wealthy, so they may just waive such - But it's unlikely and they have to protect themselves !
  5. It's a NO from me. The "American Style" of convention has now sadly permiated into the UK, i.e., "you pay for EVERYTHING", and £29 for a ticket just for "entry" is a disgrace. If this event did not feature all five captains, it would never have made the fan numbers it did.
  6. Oh, thanks craigng, I thought with such a huge price tag, and only 20 fans, they would have "plonked" one of the captains onto each table, perhaps the captains aren't hugely bothered about that element then.
  7. Hi - Just wondering if anyone had been luck enough to attend ? What was it like, how long did the Captains hang around for at breakfast ?
