Well done Showmasters - I still think people are going to turn up on the day without tickets

Great news the event has sold out (should make for an excellent atmosphere), but I think you are right, I can see a lot of people turning up on Saturday and Sunday expecting to get in without tickets.

Agreed. I think that will mostly come from the younger crowd who cosplay or those who come across the adverts in newspapers.

In fact, will Showmasters still pay for advertisements with just Friday available?

    QS,

I think they mean whether the tickets are processed in the order they come in? i.e. first to make the payment would get '001' etc..

Boggle stated that they paid for their Diamond Pass as soon as it went live but had received number 100.

I do remember it was mentioned a while back that these Diamond Passes would be mailed out in the order of payments received but I don't know if they have changed it now. Hopefully not.

Thanks. The post is a little confusing to me as there are several questions kind of mixed into each other.

I would imagine - stress the personal *guess* part - that the orders are processed in the order the system registers them as completed. That is the only thing that makes sense.

There's been tons of orders coming through in the first couple of minutes. Some people seemed to have expected the announcement going by the guessing thread. The regular photoshoots went through 2 batches before I had even managed to call a friend of mine on the cell phone.

    Thanks.

Yeah, agreed, I think most expected who was going to be announced or they just didn't hesitate to put in an order.

I received '001' for Robert Englund's pass which was ordered within 3 minutes of the announcement. That was on the old ticketing system, so I'm not sure if procedures (in the way DPs are shipped) have changed since moving to Eventbrite.

On a side note, I can kiss goodbye to a quiet Sunday. But in my view, the experience is enhanced if the venue IS busy. Sounds stupid, but, think about it, do you REALLY want to go to an event that's half empty?

Nope, I would rather the event be buzzing with the sounds of nerd-joy than having tumbleweeds rolling across the con floor. Plus, more opportunity to meet other like-minded fans if there are more people there!

    Totally agree.

There's nothing worse than seeing empty spaces and guests just sitting there twiddling their thumbs.

This is a new era for London Film and Comic Con.

Are the passes sent in order they were bought, as i got mine and its number is over 100 but i bought it as soon as it was announced so thought i would get an earlier number, as i presume they are calling them in number order?

It says on my receipt that i am batch 1 and i thought each batch would be about 100 as they were being limited?

The passes are called in groups just like the VQ tickets. The batch assignment means you're getting your autograph either on Friday or Saturday if it's MJF.

The batches of 100 are confirmed for the photoshoots. I don't know how the batch assignment for the Diamond Passes works.

Here ya go (I removed my number though)1LrzyqH.jpg3GYG2G8.jpgSorry about the size!

Why have you removed the number? There's no way it would put your pass at risk because it's not a serial or confirmation code. It's just a number from 001 to how many were sold.

Agreed, but just in case. Does it matter?

Not at all, you do what makes you feel comfortable ;-)

There's a hologram attached to prevent such fraud.

  6. One thing I would advise is to have it all wrote down for him - he might know it but there is no guarantee that he would - but it still depends on whether he is busy or not. He might write one line on it

    This ^^

Always best to have it written down. There has been a couple times where a guest has asked me what their character name was in the film and/or how it is spelt.

If the queues are too long then you might not get what you're requesting. My recommendation is to approach this in the afternoon when guests are more likely to be less busy.

  7. For those who bought a Gold Pass, did you not read the description on the Eventbrite website?

Autograph Priority Gold Pass Holders will have the advantage of being ABLE TO JOIN THE BACK OF ANY REGULAR QUEUE WITHOUT HAVING A

VIRTUAL QUEUING TICKET! This will cut down your overall waiting time incredibly, and allows a great deal more to be done over the weekend.

Please be aware however, that for Diamond Pass Guests you will require a VQ ticket

  8. I don't have a Gold Pass but I do think it's not nice of Showmasters to suddenly change the terms for the Gold Pass just for these guests. I have a Diamond Pass for Sigourney Weaver and I bought it knowing full well that it would give me the same queue-jumping rights as those with a Gold Pass; I wasn't expecting anything better from it, just that. I don't see why that has to change now.

It was always known that Diamond Pass holders will take priority over Gold.

They never said that Gold Passes guaranteed you to get an autograph.

The only thing that has been newly clarified is that Gold passes have the same priority as normal entry ticket holders - i.e VT tickets.
