Thank you for the update. While I appreciate the (lack of) information, it is hardly a surprise that it's getting ganked, I mean, postponed. For those hating on others because they can't get their money back, you should be ashamed. Not everyone has the funds to get the super flexible, fully refundable option. All I can say is that I hope that there's no one out there who bought flights.

Yep, that's what we are waiting for. No one knows what is actually going on right now. A few people have said that the hotel has made contact to cancel their reservations, but we have had no confirmation fron anyone "official".

Beyond a joke is about right. I raised my concerns two months ago, only to be told that I was overreacting by others on this forum, and that things were fine. Having been to many conventions, LotR related and otherwise, I know that no updates for months is not a good thing. I want this event to happen. I want a UK based Lotr/Hobbit convention. But most of all, I want some information!!!!

Excellent post, Julie. That is all we want, some information on what is happening!! As a side note, this is hardly great customer service, ignoring emails etc.

There are delays, and then there are delays. We are essentially less than two weeks away from the event, and we have a venue calling customers to cancel their reservations and not an ounce of news on what is actually going on, save for a few promises of it will be tomorrow. Apparently tomorrow never comes. I know my posts have been mainly negative, but I have been waiting and lurking and hanging on ever since this event was first announced two years ago, and I have hung on throughout it's two postponements. I would just like to know if it's going to happen this time. If they have big news, then great, but they could at least throw us all a bone and let us know if the currently scheduled event is actually going to take place.

That seems to be a recurring theme with this event.

Like everyone else, I would like some info on what's happening. If it's not going to take place, then my husband and I can go somewhere else that weekend. If it's being postponed, then great. We just want to know so we can book time off etc.

My intention was not to make anyone anxious. I have watched and waited for news on this event, just like I did when it was originally announced, and then when it was postponed not once, but twice, and I want this event to happen as much as everyone else. I want it to happen, but I also want to know if it is not going to happen. We are less than three months from the even, and there have been no updates since March. The purpose of the post is to obtain information. Nothing more than that.

I want this event to happen, believe me, but with only 87 days to go and very little going on on here and the website, is it really going to happen this time? I know it has already been postponed on two occassions, and I keep hanging on hoping that it's third time lucky, but I am afraid I'm not hopeful. Can Showmasters give us some sort of sign? I would prefer to know if this is going to go ahead, or maybe be postponed until the new year, after The Hobbit has hit the big screen.
