  1. Great call. My daughter met him at MK last spring and he was probably her favourite guest of the whole weekend simply because he was so friendly and approachable. He made time to do a different fun pose for everyone having a photo shoot with him, was up for all kinds of silliness, and looked to be having an awesome time too. Hope he's as much fun for everyone meeting him at Newcastle. =)
  2. An absolutely lovely guest - humble, friendly, chatty, and always *very* happy to give you a big ol' hug. Definitely my favourite guest to meet from Collectormania & Cardiff CC, my photo ops with him are treasured. ^^ Sadly, not likely to be attending Sheffield CC myself, but so happy for everyone who is going that JRD is appearing. Enjoy!
  3. My daughter and I are driving over from the West tomorrow night, went to MK19 last year and both Cardiff events so are really excited to see what's what this time around, always love the atmospere at Showmasters events and everyone is so friendly. I tend to lurk here more than I post but if I recognise anyone I might just say hi. =) Looking forward of course to meeting various guests but also to seeing all the cosplay costumes, there were some fantastic ones last spring and everyone was so good with me taking photos of / with them. Great memories! Safe trip down, everyone and have a great time. <3 ----- Oh and being the 'can't switch off worrying about you all' worry-guts that I am, guys, do keep an eye on your valuables, wallets, phones, cameras, autos, merchandise etc etc as you move around the venue. It's free admission to the event and last spring it was very crowded in places around the circuit and in the dealer room so just, y'know, watch your stuff just the same as you would anywhere a lot of people are all together. I know it's kind of obvious and common sense really but sometimes the excitement makes us careless, so better safe that sorry. I would hate anyone to mislay or lose something precious to them. 4. Galaxians / Battle Zone / Dig Dug / Scramble / Moon Cresta ... Absolutely loved Dragon's Lair too! ^^
  5. Whoa, fantastic news =) Good stuff SM, can't wait for more details as n when.
  6. Ahh cool. I don't tweet myself so hadn't seen that.
  7. Well maybe nothing and there's no link between them at all save coincidence, but Facebook's 'Sherlockology' is apparently making an exciting announcement soon too ...
  8. YES!!!! Met him at CM19 and he was wonderful. Great stuff SM!
  9. Great guest! Looking forward to meeting him. Good stuff SM!
  10. Yay! Thanbks for the confirmation info. Can't wait to see what's in store this time around. =D
  11. Malcolm McDowell and John Rhys Davies were super-amazing, friendly and fun. I really hope Showmasters can tempt them back for future events. Special mention must also go to Spice Williams, Bonnie Langford, and Julian Sands who were nice enough to give us a wave and a big smile as we went past, even though we weren't actually in their lines at the time. Let's face it though, every single guest was wonderful. =)
  12. Had a blast this past weekend so can't wait to see what you guys come up with for CM20!
  13. Loving all the shares everyone. Stobbs, that pic of you and Gillian is pure classic! <3
  14. Our first Showmasters event was Lords of Time last year when we were so impressed how well everything was handled, and we were happy to find that Collectormania was no different. Every member of the crew was polite, efficient, and ready to jump in and give directions or help if required. Even when frazzled and obviously tired there was never a trace of anything being too much bother, or of guests being a nuisance asking the same old things over and over. The Crew are the glue that holds the whole event together and you guys should be proud of how good you are. =) My daughter and I had a fantastic time on Saturday and Sunday, really enjoying the atmosphere and buzz you get with these events. We did have a couple of wobbles when looking around the merchandise area as it was *very* crowded and she's very petite and not fond of crushes due to her small size and we kind of wished there was a one way system or a left and right side for walking to alleviate getting swept away but that didn't detract at all from the enjoyment of the two days and in the end we simply hopped out of the stalls area and came back when it was less crowded. We had a really great time interacting with the many talented cos-players, posing for photos and just fooling around, all friendly and lovely people and there's nothing quite like popping out for lunch and looking up to find yourself sharing the space with everyone from the Jedi to Austin Powers! Every special guest we met was wonderful. My daughter was absolutely over the moon to meet both Jenna and Billie and loved the photographs she ended up with, saying that they were both so sweet and friendly to her, in fact she was on a high all weekend. We were both thrilled to get to meet Bernard Cribbins too, he was just lovely, and a bit cheeky and has that amazing ability of sounding like he's known you for years, he's a national treasure. I'd never expected to get the chance to meet him so this was a real treat. Chris Judge was a great too, a lovely, friendly guy with a great sense of humour. My favourite two meetings were with Malcolm McDowell and with John Rhys Davies. Malcolm McDowell iwas utterly charming and very charismatic. I was nervous while we were waiting for a photo re-take & muttered how I dislike having my picture taken as I always end up looking ridiculous in it, upon which he put his arm around me and turning to make eye contact, smiled and told me it was okay, not to worry, and best of all 'really, you look lovely.' He then kept his arm there for the photo itself giving me a hug / squeeze for reassurance. Of course I still look ridiculous in the resulting photo because now I'm grinning like an idiot but to be honest I don't care because it was a rare and special moment. I wasn't expecting him to say anything at all in response, and he could easily have just ignored me but he took the time instead to reassure me and make it feel like it really mattered. It was a real treat to meet him, he was so friendly and more than exceeded all expectations. I really hope we can see him again at a future event. John Rhys Davies was, as many have already said, simply amazing. It was a pure pleasure to meet him and to see him enjoying himself so much. He made time for everyone on the photo line, was spontaneous, witty, affectionate, and funny (and LOUD), and he was up for all sorts of silly poses. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He has an amazing, warm, larger than life presence that just makes you smile, and I really hope that we'll get to see him at another Showmasters event where he gets to on a panel and can really let loose like the mischievous kid-at-heart he is. The tickling everyone was a great touch too and helped everyone to relax and act more naturally for photos. The photo of us hugging is definitey one to treasure! What a lovely guy. All in all an amazing weekend with many great memories. Looking forward to the next one(s) so thank you everyone for making it happen, you rock. <3
  15. We are so close to the event now that extra autos and photos will only be available at the show. However, you will definitely not have any issues purchasing extras at the registration desk no matter what time you arrive. If you do have any problems just ask for me and I will sort it. Look forward to seeing you at the show. Take care, Mark Thank you so much for your help, Mark and putting my mind at rest. It's very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you all too. =)
  16. Thank you so much for this information, my daughter still doesn't know we are going, she's going to wig out when she finds out. One question, can we order extras from the online store or do we have to do it at registration? I know I'm a worry guts but I'm a bit concerned that if we don't arrive early enough we won't be able to purchase an extra photo / auto with David Tennant due to demand. (Hopefully getting one with K9 too!) Thanks for any info and sorry to be a pain =)
  17. Thank you for the info =)
  18. Oh my goodness, that is fantastic! What a fun idea for a guest and photo ops as well. Yay! ^^
  19. Silver tickets purchased here, but as it stands, I'm not sure whether we'll be able to get up to Birmingham for registration on Friday afternoon so would appreciate any info regarding if / when registration will be open on the Saturday morning. This is our first time at a ME event and obviously we don't want to miss any scheduled talks etc so I'm hoping we can sign in early if this is the case. Thanks for any help, really looking forward to the event. My daughter has no idea we're going yet, can't wait to see her face! =D
