  1. I would like to say thank you to that very nice guy behind me in the Alexander Siddig queue who stepped forward to offer the use of his bronze sharpie so that Alexander Siddig, who didnt have a gold pen, could sign my DS9 picture in a color different from silver. I am a little ocd about who signs where in what color and had left my own pens at home so thank you very much his signature looks even more awesome in bronze than it would have in gold :) Also to the lady Magneto ahead of me in that same line i kept an eye out on sunday but didnt see any female Banes but i assume you looked awesome.
  2. Claudia Black Lucy Lawless Brian Blessed Terry Farrell David Warner Peter Wingfield Adrien Paul Any actors form Defiance
  3. I dont have any complaints about the queueing system. I purchased a standard entry ticket online couple months back arrived shortly after 10am and joined the back of the queue which was right round the other side of the building and fairly stationary until 11am when it suddenly zoomed along and i was in the hall by 11:15am. The buy on the day queue was a lot shorter but they were all lined up waiting to pay for their tickets at the desk just inside the building as the prepaid queue entered and were still there after the prepaid queue were all inside. Also I assume the reason the buy on the day queue was so short was that anyone showing up before 10am ended up being sold early bird tickets. That happened when i went with a friend to another event we planned to get standard entry tickets on the day and made sure to arrive nearly two hours early so we wouldnt have to wait long in the queue only to be sold early bird tickets and shuffled in an hour and a half earlier than planned. It was a fun event though it wasnt until the sunday when i finally located the drawing tables. The gaming area seemed nonexistent and the cosplay area didnt seem that big or to have much going on but i wasnt too interested in those areas except to look round at peoples costumes. The rest of the place was great particularly the comic area they had some good talks going on there particularly the ones where they had various guests participating in a discussion on a particular theme like 'death in comics'. I did wonder why all of the talks in the main area seemed based on the guests being form the same tv show or franchise like walking dead or wrestling or were single person talk. Granted walking dead, game of thrones, DS9 and stargate are all great franchises and having talks just about them is great but you also had guests like David Warner who had been around a while and played various roles who werent involved in doing talks but would have been wonderful to listen talk about their experiences as an actor and ask them questions. You could even have done a couple talks involving tv/movie actors from different franchises discussing themes or genres that they had in common then we could have gotten some interesting discussion and questions that might not usually happen. Like someone already said some of the actors at the signing area werent doing much business and appeared bored just sitting there. I only had one photo shoot, the DS9 group photo, which did seem a bit like cattle herding with the speed at which people were put through. The attitude of the crew running the photo shoot was quite efficient but also seemed very hurried and made it feel like you shouldnt try to speak or interact with the guests even to say hello and i felt like i barely had time to get a good smile on my face before i was being shooed away to wait for my photo to be printed. When i approached to sit down despite being very nervous i did manage to say a cheerful hello to all of the DS9 actors and they all responded with a very cheerful hellos back but i noticed other people ahead of me had sat down had their photo taken and headed over to collect it very quickly without exchanging a word with the actors. Maybe they were too nervous or maybe the crews hurried attitude made them feel they couldnt say hello without holding up the line but i know having the actors just saying hello in response to my own nervous greeting was great. I do have one grumble that with my DS9 photo i have a shadow over a fair amount of my face making my features hard to distinguish because of the angle of the lighting. The DS9 actors surrounding me are nicely illuminated with maybe a little shadow from the left but my face is so dark i assume its because im not very tall and the lighting was set to shine upon people slightly taller than me. It is meant to be a picture of me with them i am a little disapppointed at how i appear. My first reaction upon recieving the photo was omg why do i look like that? I considered asking for a reshoot but the crew seemed in such a hurry to keep the line moving i felt like i couldnt. I can understand that a one lightning angle for all makes things move quicker than having to adjust it but if someone is paying a fair chunk of money to have a picture with a bunch of people they admire/idolise they should be able to see their own face clearly in the resulting image. The iron throne photo was much better lit and more fun as the guy taking the pictures seemed more relaxed and willing to wait until you were perfectly comfortable in whatever pose you were doing before taking the picture. I hope this feedback is helpful. I did have a really great time this weekend though my biggest suggestion is that next time have face painting. face painting is fun and brilliant.
  4. I was just wondering with paid talks does the number on your ticket affect what time you get let in or where you can sit? I have a ticket to the DS9 talk the number on it is 19 the last time i went to a convention where a DS9 talk was being held i was so excited i was the first person to start queueing for it about 5-10 mins ahead of everyone else and DS9 is one of my all time favourite shows so i'm likely gonna show up to queue for the talk stupidly early again. If the number on the ticket indicates the order your allowed in or where you can sit i would like to know so that i dont get in anyone elses way.
  5. I wont be able to make the talk since it starts 15 mins after standard entry but im definitely going to get a joint photo with Claudia and Amanda and then hopefully get it signed funds allowing.
  6. I wasnt too interested in an tapping/shanks talk but a claudia black/amanda tapping talk i would love unfortunately i would onyl have 15 minutes in which to buy a ticket and join the line
  7. A list should be up when the talk schedule goes up, but no guarantees. Okay dokey thanks for the quick reply
  8. Do you know yet which Dr Who actors will be in the free Dr Who talks? Will it be the same lineup each day or shift around? I would have loved it if Michael Warner and Jean Marsh were in a talk. They're both actors with long and varied careers behind them so would have been fascinating to listen to.
  9. According to the website you guys are going to have an Artists Alley for amateur comic and manga artists to chill out, draw and meet other artists. It also says you will have drawing competitions, life drawing and portfolio building workshops going on there as well but gives no further detail or definite information beyond that. I was wondering if anyone working for Showmasters has any further info on the type of competitions and workshops that would be happening on the Artist's Alley and round what time they woudl be happening?
  10. Just to doublecheck my Nana Visitor photoshoot ticket for the friday has not arrived yet and the SEE tickets people that i phoned have told me that if it hasnt arrived by thursday morning to ring them and they will arrange for me to be able to pick it up at the venue on the friday. Another person with the same problem was told by the SEE ticket people that if their teicket didnt arrive in time they would have to call by wednesday at the very latest otherwise they wouldnt have time to print off a duplicate for collection on thefriday. So now im confuddled as to whether i should wait to see if it arrives by thursday before phoning or whether that would be leaving it too late?
  11. Hey just wondering were do we collect the tickets for the free talks and the alternative opening ceremony from? I would assume its the same area as the autograph/photoshoot ticket area right or do we have to collect them from a different area like by the stage? Also how long is the alternative opening ceremony likely to last? I need to catch a train at a set time and am worried i may have to leave early would hate to have to miss the end of Dominic Keating and Conner Trineers show
  12. Pls correct me if im wrong but entry tickets can only be purchased online right? No on the day tickets sales? Also autograph tickets are only available on the day and cant be purchased online right?
  13. I'm only going on the friday. Would love to go in costume as an orion slave girl or a mirror universe uniform but will probably get strange looks on train there and back . Also i doubt i have the confidence to pull it off so if i do dress up maybe my own version of a science officers uniform :S That is an awesome Bajoran earing ShellyWoo :)
  14. Apologies if this a question that has already been asked or has either an obvious or impossible to predict answer but is there likely to be really long queue of people awaiting entry on the friday that would slow down entry to the event? I'm guessing the answer is probably yes going by past convention experience and what you just posted about the number of tickets sold but i have never been to an event organised by this company before so dont know if you maybe have a different entry protocol to other places. What is your entry protocol? How early would you recommend arriving to ensure entry to the event at a reasonable time? Sorry if i seem to keep adding questions but I can only attend the friday and will be travelling from north wales to london on the friday morning. I would prefer not to be at the back of a long queue that takes forever to get through the gate as I have a minimum of 6 autographs that I would love to acquire and may never get the chance again so dont want to waste any time stood outside when i could be running about like a kid in a candy store inside. Also its been announced that Nana Visitor will be doing photo sessions but i cant find any info on what days these photo sessions are available. I'm assuming its only on the sat/sun like most of the photo sessions but please correct me if i am wrong as i woudl love a picture with her. Will be very grateful for any answers you provide :)
