Ah Showmasters, you're gonna cost me a fortune! Another one for my "must have" list! Don't forget, as well as being excellent in Moonlighting, and sublime in Revenge Of The Nerds, he was also brilliant as Miles, Tom Cruise's best friend in Risky Business! I will deffo be getting my Risky Business Bluray signed "Sometimes you gotta say "What the F*ck", make your move. Joel, every now and then, saying "What the F*ck", brings freedom. Freedom brings opportunity, opportunity makes your future." Oh, and I almost forgot - Better Off Dead! TOP guest!- 23 replies

Does anyone know if he's happy to sign any old item? I've got the Titanic 3D BluRay which I think I might want autographed.- 11 replies

Review of Saturday, and a load of cosplay photos!

Sorry no, if you click the pics you're taken to my Flickr page, the rest are all on there. -
Hi - that was my second event (after LFCC) and it was a great day out. Obviously a lot quieter than LFCC, which was a good thing (for me!) - less crowds, less queues and no stink of BO permeating the hall! If it's any consolation to the exhibitors, I spent a LOT more money than at LFCC because it was easier to buy things when you're not fighting through crowds! Got to meet the two people I went for, Robert Englund and David Prowse. After reading comments about the photo shoots in LFCC I didn't bother with a Robert Englund photo, but I gather the system is now much better, so wish I'd got one. Ah well, maybe next time. Great cosplayers, a lot of whom looked familiar from LFCC. My faves were the old-school Cylon and Admiral Ackbar! HUGE thanks to all the cosplayers, who were all very nice and posed for the camera on request! Here are some pics:

Excellent! Based on past shows does anyone know what price we can expect for autographs and photoshoots? And is he's the type of guest who'll pose for over-the-table pics as long as you buy an autograph? -
My first ever Con - deffo won't be my last! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Let's get the bad points out of the way... The BO. Jesus Christ guys, shower, or at least carry a small can of deoderant with you. The tube was delayed for ages on the way home, and so was jammed solid. And it was hot in the carriage so again, BO. Not good. The queuing system for autographs was a bit hit and miss. (I didn't bother with photoshoots.) Jeri Ryan, Gillian Anderson, Karl Urban being shielded from mortals' eyes. Good points... The cosplayers. Some amazing costumes, and everyone was very happy to pose for pics. My faves were the very tall Lara Croft lady ( ) and the guy in the seriously impressive Dark Knight outfit (there were a few of these I think). The guests. I met Ke Huy Quan, Alex Winter and Martin Kove. All three REALLY struggled to understand my Welsh accent (!) but all three were smiley and seemed genuinely pleased to meet fans. "Surprise" guest - I hadn't seen Martin Kove (Karate Kid/Rambo) advertised?! I actually saw him walking through the hall and thought "Wow, that guy looks like the Cobra Kai dude off Karate Kid!" When I arrived and saw the queue I serioduly considered going home, it was HUGE. However it was fast-moving and so I was in the venue in around 20 minutes. The people! It was very crowded but everyone was polite and well-mannered - lots of "excuse me" and "no, you first!" going on. BUT, the BO...! Will deffo be going to more events. And will save up cash to buy some proper photoshoots! And noseplugs. Did I mention the BO?

Newbie question - can I bring my SLR camera?
guy_smiley replied to guy_smiley's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2012
Thanks for the speedy response! -
Hi - I'll be attending Saturday, my first ever con! I've read the FAQs and understand that some guests allow photos when signing and some may even lean over the table with you, and others have a strict no photography policy - but are there rules about the type of camera allowed? I have an SLR - will that be a problem? I don't want to cart it all the way to London to be told I can't use it! Thanks in advance!
