What if there were checkpoints outside the venue? So when you buy the tickets online they will have your photo on them, a copy of your signature and 3 security questions. Upon getting to the venue you will be asked the answers to these questions, your barcode scanned, your picture checked, your signature checked, a quick phone call to the bank you are with will be made to authorise you are who you say you are and you live at the address stated on your reciept when you made payment.
I think it can be done. It'll take a lot of manpower and a big phone bill but it will certainly cut down on those pesky people that didn't have the money for tickets 12 months in advance lol. Those rascals waiting till their last pay day to buy tickets and then there's none left. How dare they! *shakes fist*.

Absolutely. I don't think any parent will mind taking photos of their children along with their own personal ID just to get in the door.
I think it will go smoothly!

bring her to Glasgow I say. Gives her an extra 6 weeks for work commitments and she can still come over and meet her fans.

You could most likely count on one hand the number of guests on a VT system, the rest will be simply a que which you judge for yourself. If you see a guest with no que or just a few people waiting then absolutely go over and chat and shake their hand and say hello. Of course you can do that.
Have you been to LFCC before?
I assure you there will be A LOT more than 5 guests using the VT system!

Unfortunately I'm driving it though!
You can drive us all back up if you want. It will be good fun, I'll bring my CDs we can play them loudly, no, you can take us on a tour of England and on the way to Glasgow we'll park overnight in various cities and learn the ways of the locals.
This needs to happen & get filmed!

You can't win Time Corridor. Your money is gone either way.
I myself am not meeting a lot of guests yet I am really happy with the number of horror guests this year because I've always said the UK is missing out on horror themed shows and this one has made up for all that so I can't complain too much. You need to decide if the 5 guests you want to meet are worth the travel for you and if you will get that opportunity again down the line. I think with some of the people I'm meeting I wont get that chance anytime soon so it's better I take this chance.
I don't understand the people that meet 40+ people in one show. There is no need for it. No one needs to meet that many people, you might have the money to do it and are happy to spend it on those people but if you sat and thought about it........do you really need to meet 40 people? Is your life gonna be any different? No. It's just entertainment. We can't take these autographs with us when we die guys. It's just entertainment to keep us chirpy while we are here. I don't have any sympathy for anyone meeting that number of people and they don't have enough money or they want to meet more people and can't afford it. The priorities are all wrong if that's the case.

I think it's more to do with i've been going to shows since 2007 and at every one i've been to i could probably count on one hand the number of guests that had a no photos sign up at each show, it's certainly not a common thing and you're right if she doesn't have a sign up saying no posed photos then you should ask for one, Jennifer is very fan friendly and I wouldn't expect her to change her way of doing things for London.
But obviously the rules are don't ask for photos if there is a sign saying no posed photos.

im going to be on my own, ill ask she and the crew member can only say no lol if she says yes and the crew person is happy to take a photo id be over the moon :)

Some of the Morrisons near me have Kodak machines to print photos but most supermarkets when you want sizes 8x10 and above will do it themselves, not the machine and that's why there can be a waiting time.

You can get them printed at those places but the 8x10 sizes usually take an hour or so to do, or at least that's what they will tell you to do and come back later on. If it's clearly a photo from a TV show or movie you might get someone who moans and asks if you have permission to use the photo or if you personally took the photo, if that is the case just ask for your money back and go to a photo shop and get it done. Ordering online is never a problem though but as you say you might not have time unless you order online and ask to collect the photos in person on the day.

Oh come on lol. We had this talk before. You can't go and spend all that money then cut your time short to suit the people behind you. Do you think they would do the same for you? Do you think they would spend money and say oooh I better not say anything, i better pay my money so that guy behind me can talk instead. Come on. You can't go through life putting everyone else first. You need to live. Trust me, look out for yourself because no one else will, especially the people in these ques, if you're having a conversation then you have a conversation for as long as the guest wants to talk cause that's what you're there for.
And i'd say that to anyone else. You're not travelling all the way to London to suit other people. You're there to enjoy it yourself. I know people online like to say they are your friends and this and that and we're all one big happy family but when it comes to attending these shows we are all individuals. Even me, who can run into issues with guests not understanding my accent, even I want to leave having had some kind of experience with the guests and leave with an impression of them. That's why I always get a handshake, I always say hello and have some kind of question so that there is at least something of an experience to leave with. I wouldn't deliberately hold up a que but if a guest did get into a conversation I would keep it going, why would i stop it if the guest is happy to chat? Even the shyest of people want something to go home with. They've made the effort to go.
It's the same reason why I always get photos at the table rather than photoshoots. It might be a bit wonky or not as flattering but at least if i get pictures with the guests at their table at least they know my name, i'm not standing in a line where i'm just another face in the crowd, whether they can spell my name or pronounce it or whatever at least they know it, I'd rather have a terrible picture, i'd rather have a picture where i've messed up taking it and half my face isn't it just because at least I know I spoke to that person, i introduced myself, i had a chat, i shook their hand meeting them, i shook their hand saying goodbye, i had some contact with them and we spoke and made eye contact and it was real and tangible. If i went into a que thinking about who was behind me I wouldn't get that. And people on here will say ooooh you can't do that with the big stars. If you're there early enough you can.
I used to have to do that with the staff and spell it out but I think i'll just take some post its with me and have my name on it and my phone number.......no i'm just joking! I think all the guests i'm meeting will do personalizations, suppose we'll see. I'm only there for the day.

One problem I have is with my first name, sometimes they don't always catch it right away or if they do they might not spell it right because there's two ways of spelling it and not many spell it the way I do so that can be a problem. I've actually noticed the spelling I use is the way a lot of Scottish people spell it compared to the rest of the world.
If you're an actor then it's fine, you can treat it like a performance but for regular folk like myself and Xenomorph when we're not used to watching how we speak. Having said that I am writing at the moment, one day I'm gonna make it! If i cast you in a role one day i'll make sure you are cast in the role of a Glaswegian girl and use every slang word known to man. Even Scottish people will need subtitles to see what's going on!

Of course you can Jim. Ask them next time you're at a show. Go on Youtube and you'll see lots of stuff people have filmed at shows whether it's interviews, messages for your website/youtube channel, message for someone who couldn't be there.

Yup, it really is a nightmare. Like you said, we have to concentrate, slow down and pronounce everything properly... it feels so false.
Not to worry... Iain Glen and Sylvester McCoy will understand us easily enough
Do you not think it can ruin conversations a bit? sometimes with the noise around too you need to raise your voice a bit. I think another thing is that you only have limited time. Like if we were having a job interview or a meeting with someone in Glasgow, something professional, you would watch what you say and not have the accent on too thick but it would be relaxed just like if we spoke with someone from another country like America, after a few minutes we would probably be fine and would know how we were coming across but I think at these shows you feel as if you only have so long to talk and it adds to the stress a bit and yet the irony is it's a good talking point, if they catch on that you've came from Scotland to meet them. You can even ask them if they've ever been here. Scottish guests like you said already know all this lol.

But why would you do all of that? You don't know them. DIfferent if you are giving a friend a piggyback but someone you don't know?
