  1. Professional Printers are very cost prohibitive to buy, yes - but not to rent....which is what (IMHO) Showmasters should at least be looking into (if they have not already). Each to their own but my time is precious to me and waiting hours and hours for a photo is not something that appeals to me. If it means paying an extra few quid per photo to cover the cost of renting such machines then I for one would not have a problem with the extra cost incurred.
  2. I attended on the Saturday and here is my feedback: The Stadium concourse is not suitable for holding this type of event - it is far too narrow for the amount of people that attended (especially this year). It is also (somehow) actually colder inside the stadium than it is outside. This would be fine on a nice hot summers day where the stadium would be nice and cool but the weather on this years CM MK (and last years) was pretty rubbish so I think a change of venue should be looked at. I understand that SM do not control the weather but if they insist on holding it in May when the weather is more likely than not to be not very good then they should think about holding it indoors - there are plenty of other indoor venues about so I am not sure why SM insist on holding it here despite all the complaints? If SM decide to continue to use the MK Stadium then they need to put a bit more planning into the layout. Housing elderly guests in the coldest part of the stadium was quite frankly a massive oversight and some needs a bit of a rollicking for that. Locating the photo collection desks outside the photo studios was a bit shortsighted as well - some photoshoots had triple queues which merged into the queues for the photographs which meant that area was blocked at times. Photograph collection - Ahh, that old chestnut. This seems to have been brought up many times in many threads and these threads will keep appearing unless something is done about it. It seems there is no chance of SM getting its own printers - I suspect they deem it to be too expensive, so fair enough. My main gripe is that I had to wait almost 4 hours for my photo, which meant i missed out on getting it signed which disappointed me greatly. Not sure why the runners were being sent all the way to Boots when there was a massive ASDA next door with its own photo lab and multiple machines for instant printing?? On a good note, the staff were generally excellent (although there was one guy who was so unhelpful and spent all of his time hugging his friends) while others where required to be much more vocal than they were. I understand they are volunteers but whats the point in sending out a petite lady with a voice as loud as a mouse to tell people what going on? SM need to make better use of their volunteers and there strengths. Also, some staff didn't know what was going on with regards to photo collection and instead of owning up to it (by simply saying "I don't know, sorry" - they kept on saying "15 minutes" or "they are almost here" - I got tired of this when i was told for the 4th time that it would be another 15 minute wait.
  3. Hi there, I was just wondering when\if the photoshoot times\locations will be released online? Last year I didn't find out until I got to the Stadium - so I was hoping to plan a bit better this year and hopefully there wont be any clashes for the people I want to see *fingers crossed* Thanks in advance.
  4. As I thought my post contained some quite valid points I would have expected it to be deleted rather than just deleted? (as perthe forum 'rules'). Also, the topic may have been discussed (though i cant really say lots of times?) but my post highlighed that the answers given by Showmasters didnt actually stand up...thats all.
  5. Hi Mods, I just posted a new topic discussing the possibility of having photos being printed immediately after the shoot and also accessing them online but it seems to have vanished?
  6. Jason has stated in his original post that Norman was offered both dates and chose LFCC - as we meanwhile know there was a reason for this choice was very likely because he has another commitment in the States the same weekend as LFACC. Sometimes it just happens and one event has more for one attendee than for the other. Unfortunately that sometimes even hapens a couple of events in a row. That has nothing to do with the venue or the event. Leonard Nimoy and Nathan Filion (who attracted a lot of fans, although I realize they are not favorite guests for everyone) both were in MK and not at LFACC. Patrick Stewart attended Milton Keynes too and did his first photosession there. Fair enough - I didn't catch Jason's post (not in this thread?). Wasn't trying to stir anything - just a little concerned that all the more desirable guests (for me anyway) seem to going to LFCC - mainly sour grapes from me as I cant make London due to a prior engagement and can only make Milton Keynes. :) Here's hoping for some guests to trump LFCC!
  7. As a trekkie fan the line at LFCC is slightly more desirable (at least in my opinion anyway) so far - i was never a fan of the original series so that only leaves Dorn as a headliner - while London will get three (Frakes, Ryan and Russ). I am surprised that LFCC has also got three great Stargate guests so far while Milton Keynes doesn't have any?
  8. I have to agree with jbourne and sagart - i think the quantity of star guests going to Milton Keynes compared to the ones going to London is not at all fair? It seems odd that even though Milton Keynes is earlier in the calender it hasn't got half as many guests as London.....yet. It seems when people started saying they wished Norman Reedus was going to LFCC it started the ball rolling in their direction? Edit by QS: I've removed part of your post. Those issues were all discussed to death last year and the bar issue was found to be a temporary problem.
