  1. I had the same issue with Star Trek Deep Space Nine, however I printed one off for myself just in case. I wasn't sure if he would have a Star Trek one only having been in 3 episodes. Glad I did though. He also looked impressed that I had made the effort to get one sorted. Take care, Matty-lad There were DS9 prints but some dealer(s) took them all first thing on Saturday and I understand there were various issues getting more printed. Some friends got to him and walked away because of that and complained to a crew member who did a sterling job of trying to help. Some did appear later on on Saturday but much poorer quality than before. Very disappointing that was allowed to happen so early in the day when it was one of the shows listed on his poster.
  2. Anyone able to confirm whether this is the case please? Straightforward question and would be helpful to know. Thanks.
  3. That's really not on. A huge increase if you buy a lot. There's got to be a way to make the system add on the previous £2.50 automatically as an addition when you check out or something. I really can't believe it can't be adapted, it's just software.
  4. If entry is back through gate 5 as it used to be does that mean the arena isn't being used for this event and it's all on the concourse like the old days?
  5. I finally met him at EMS in 2012 thankfully but he's very busy so not at all surprised it's happened again really.
  6. My full gallery, just from Q&A sessions but pretty pleased with the results: https://picasaweb.google.com/howard.crowe/Chevron82
  7. That's interesting as someone was telling all the silvers in David's queue that there would be no silver photos at all on Saturday and we'd have to get them all on Sunday, which I did. They apologised for it from the stage later. Got everything done but just like to mix it up each day so not just doing all one thing.
  8. Don't really care about any other event, just want the one I'm at to run as advertised. I am aware that is likely to be the case but it's not exactly a last minute thing. Build that fact into arranging the schedule. Never been a problem at any one of these I've been to before even with one photo area. Doesn't make a huge difference to me as long as there's time to get everyone through tomorrow, just now won't have anything to do other than hang around for photos. Anyone who wanted to get their photo signed will struggle tho.
  9. Wouldn't know about that as I was told there were no photos for Silver tickets today at all. Photographer seemed to be going very slowly and they seemed to struggling to get through golds in time allocated. Normally like to do a mix each day to keep it interesting but tomorrow will just be stood around waiting for photos now. Great to chat to when getting autographs tho.
  10. A few quick uploads from opening ceremony. Not the best, hopefully will get more from the main q&a sessions.
  11. So exactly who everyone suspected after all and had been rumoured for months. So much for the "not who we'd expect line". Nice guest for sure but bit rich for my bank account.
  12. Exactly! The know it alls here ruin the fun for everyone who just wants to have a guess (and may have a life beyond reading every post on this board) Nobody is saying you have to read every post on this board, but it's only reasonable to have the decency to read the rest of the thread. It's remarkably tedious to have somebody saying "I think it will be Harrison Ford" when there are seventeen different posts that have already patiently explained why it CAN'T be Harrison Ford as he doesn't meet the criteria. And to be honest, it's just rude. You're saying that it's fine for people to post daft suggestions on here that have already been debunked earlier in the very same thread, because they don't have 15 or 20 minutes to skim through the thread first. But it's quite all right for them to post some old nonsense and waste 10-15 seconds of hundreds of readers' time instead. This thread has had nearly 24,000 views. Even if that's just 800 people looking at it 30 times each, 800 people wasting 10 seconds each reading a comment that didn't need to be made if somebody was polite enough to read the rest of the thread first means nearly two and a quarter hours wasted between those 800 people. So with all of that said, it's obviously Dave Prowse... Said I wasn't going to jump in again but feel this needs backing up. This is exactly one of the reasons threads like this are a pointless waste of time and just escalate into random arguments and bickering. It is not "a bit of fun", it's causing antagonism, more work for the mods to keep things cleared up and people who are experienced in these events getting fed up of trying to help when nothing they say is taken on board, as KingRichard has explained above. By all means say "there will be an announcement later tonight" or just make the announcement, even if tix aren't on sale straight away but don't drag it on for a week. This thread has only been going a couple of days and it's a mess with people being warned for their behaviour, comments being deleted etc. So unnecessary. Just get it done and people will be much happier whether they agree a certain guest is worth the money or not, you'll always get that after an announcement anyway. Now we're getting arguments before as well. Not helpful for anyone.
  13. No it doesn't. ;-)could be sigorney weavour or Jamie Lee Curtis No it couldn't. As repeatedly stated in previous posts, both have done signing events so don't fit the criteria.
  14. I actually totally agree with you, there's no reason they shouldn't be able to but for whatever reason (and I speculated on those) they don't or can't. Therefore with that in mind, it's a risk to not buy straight away as there's no way of knowing how sales are going and if you risk missing out. I'm sure plenty of people aren't able to buy straight away, I often don't want to but without the info on availability, not doing so will mean you risk missing out. As for buying a friday ticket and using on saturday, they sell x amount for the time available and if they let people do that it would risk throwing the timing out. Sometimes they've let you use sat or sun tickets on a friday when there's time available but not the other way round as those shoots are usually already at capacity.
  15. There never has (or at best extremely rarely) been any warning of low availability. I've going to these events for nearly 12 years now and it's never been something you can rely on. Too many tickets across so many events, not enough people to keep track of it all. On the old system there was a way of seeing how many were left but without some kind of real-time stock info on the ticket sales end (can't see why that's not possible these days) it's a risk not to buy straight away now.
  16. As ever, just announce it. A week of random guessing on here is pointless and a waste of everyone's time. I'll be back to see who it is, until then have fun with all the unrealistic expectations.
  17. Some idea of price would be helpful so we can decide if it's even worth considering or can try and get the money together in time in case it is someone we might be interested in. Expecting people to have hundreds of pounds available (I assume it'll be at that level) at short notice without some kind of idea isn't very reasonable. Normal guest prices is one thing but this is starting to get to a different level and I'm sure others would appreciate time to sort out necessary funds.
  18. To give you an idea, last year there were 6 photo areas running at the same time but the previous year just 3. So there is always the chance of shoots clashing but as advised just tell the crew and they will try and get you through so you don't miss anything.
  19. It's standard at US events I understand and I've seen a few US actors start to do it at shows here (not SM) though it's been rare so far. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's something that becomes more common gradually. Personally I think a lot of people would be prepared to pay an amount if it guaranteed a desk photo on their own camera as not everyone wants to pay for a professional shoot and it certainly wouldn't stop those happening either. Not saying it will happen, not saying it won't, it's just not something people at UK shows are used to.
  20. Well here's a link for LFFC14 for an example http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=82834&page=1#entry1837022. I think I count 10 £10 photoshoots listed on there and a further 20 with autos at £10 but no photoshoot. So quite a lot to choose from really but I only have an idea who 1 of those is so if this had been given with the gold pass last year it would have been useless to me personally without being able to add-on an amount or even use two vouchers for a £20 guest. Although I've had a gold pass for the last few years I'm not getting one this year though as it's too expensive for me and I'm going to severely limit how many people I meet but it really would be nice for those who have them if it was a bit more flexible so they could use it on people they really want to meet. True it's just a bonus but that's still potentially £40 worth of bonus that people may not use, or at least not use on something useful to them. Don't really see why they couldn't just stick 4 £10 vouchers in the pack for people to use as they prefer but it is what it is so I hope for those who have them there are people they want to meet and get photos with at the £10 level.
  21. I was just about to suggest exactly the same thing. But what about if it's not sold out? For the people above, losing the cost of two gold passes is a considerable amount of money which no-one can afford to waste. Circumstances do change and not using an £18 entry ticket is one thing but a £225 gold pass is not a small matter.
  22. I'm the same boat. My email does say that the ticket verification is there, but I haven't been billed. I've sent an email to Showmasters for clarification - I'd hate to miss out on a photo op with RDA because of £2.50! I don't understand this. What do you mean that you haven't been billed? Surely if the email has the fee added then you paid it? I didn't seem to have any trouble adding the fee during the order process and pretty sure I was charged at checkout for the price with it added. Until I can see the payment in my account I wouldn't know if I've actually paid it or not though and that will take a few days. What I don't like about the new system, unless I've missed something is that it's not obvious if you can buy tickets for different events at the same time and only pay one fee. I used to bundle up purchases for multiple events to save on the extra fee. Anyway, I have my ticket so I hope it's all gone through ok. And I used a gmail address without problem. In fact the system remembered that and showed me something I booked last year for something else.
  23. Many other things such as gigs and football matches go on sale at 9-10am on weekdays, it's not unusual. Yep and I sometimes miss out on those too. Don't see why it couldn't have been a bit later.
