  1. At a convention like this where you have to pay per autograph then I think it only makes sense to get people you have an interest in. I frequently to Doctor Who conventions where a number of autographs are included in the entrance price though, so now have a collection of all sorts of wierd and wonderful people I wouldn't have got otherwise. The only exception was Leslie Grantham at one of the MK Collectormanias a few years ago. I wasn't bothered about him but nobody was queueing up and he looked really miserable next to Adam West who's queue was huge. I think his auto was about £10 so I decided it wasn't a huge amount to spend, and went to talk to him and cheer him up a bit. I'm glad I did though as he was really lovely.
  2. I have about 80% of my autos in clip frames on the wall, but if you're wanting to keep them nice then I wouldn't suggest this at all! Moisture has leaked into a couple and warped them, and others have permanently stuck to the glass. I'm not really bothered about that myself (too late to care now!) but anyone wanting to frame should look carefully into the best methods. I've never had a problem with fading or the sigs rubbing off though.
  3. I always go for autos as I now have a lovely collection framed on my wall, however it's always nice to have a picture too as it adds authenticity. A couple of my autos are quite rare so if anyone asks 'did you really meet them???' you can then say, yes, and here's the evidence! Regarding autos though, for me they HAVE to be personalised. Otherwise I'd just feel like I was buying an investment or item of merchandise rather than a memory of meeting that person. Might as well just get them on ebay if that's the case, and whilst I know they're probably not worth as much I don't ever intend to sell them so it doesn't matter. If I can't get a personalisation then I'd go for a photograph instead.
  4. Have to completely agree with this, they were both lovely and more than happy to talk to us. In fact they actually started conversations rather than leaving it up to us to think of something to say. Stephen asked where we came from and when we replied Yorkshire he said 'oh, where the pudding comes from!!!' We then got him to do his trademark Mr Morden wave. Peter was also great and how he didn't get tired writing so much on his pictures I've no idea. He was happy to learn that we've been watching the DVD's recently and we chatted about how timeless and re-watchable the stories are. Then he told us that the Centauri Ambassador granted us free public transport on Centauri Prime forevermore. :) Also I have to mention how lovely Robert Knepper was. He was the guest I was most looking forward to meeting and he didn't disappoint. He told us an anecdote about a couple of fans he'd met once and we talked for a bit about how disturbingly charasmatic his most famous character is. Splendid chap. Also enjoyed his Sunday talk.
  5. Please please please can we have some Dexter guests please??? I'm slightly obsessed with this show and would love to meet any of them. I'd be happy with random murder victims, but any of the main stars would be a bonus, and someone like Julie Benz would be of interest to Joss Whedon fans also. Also any more Babylon 5 and Prison Break stars, as Robert Knepper and Peter Jurasik were brilliant to meet this weekend.
