completely understandable, but it's also fair to say pay weekend for the majority of folk would fall the following weekend - not much you can do if the venue is unavailable though!

Great idea, I'm sure there's a dude out Stirling way or that who does movie cars, they could arrange for him to bring some possibly, though it might work out a big expense & not sure about photo ops with them. Be cool to get a pic in the A-Team van or such!

Where to start!! NCIS, Supernatural, ARROW (LOTS of new DC character coming this season, including Amanda Waller & possibly Lady Shiva!), Agents of SHIELD for sure, Grimm. I gave up on TVD midway through the last season so not watching that or The Originals (despite Pheobe Tonkin lol) I'll probably try Dracula, the trailer certainly looked gory!

Fave sci-fi....Firefly, BSG, Predator, Doctor Who, Trek, Wars - the usual! Horror deffo the biggies - Freddy (except 2), Jason, Candyman, Exorcist, etc. Not a fan of "modern" horror films at all, also a big fan of Buffy, Angel, Lost Girl & Supernatural (apart from series 6/7 when the now showrunner almost ruined it though!) Also reliving my youth as my wee girl is into Power Rangers - re-watching the whole lot on Netflix!

Yeah, I read that too. In all honesty, I'm glad. While I'd say that they got the casting pitch perfect for Sookie, Bill, Eric, Pam, Sam & Alcide, the makers of the show totally dropped the ball by veering away from the book storylines, not to mention (IMO) creating the most unlikeable tv show character since Turtle from Entourage when they changed Tara from the books.

Gotta admit, I think I'd get a kick out of cosplay myself, let alone my wee girl, but it strikes me as a potentially expensive thing? Plus I'd have no idea what to go as - I'd probably need a mask as I get embarassed real easily! I always get jealous of the guys who do events as Stormtroopers etc, always wanted one of those costumes!

Never thought of that, it probably is due to the Clan then - dates are 23rd/24th August.

She'd be happy with any as long as it's pink - I saw a Megaforce one from the states, but I'd then need to find a decent mask/gloves/boots to go with it, and again the cost was a bit much for a kids costume.

Gave the old eBay a look, but most are ridiculous prices - like £50+ for a 5 year olds outfit! Mental.

Sorta off topic, although she has said she'd wear it next year - anyone able to point me in the right direction of someone/somewhere I could get a hold of a pink power ranger costume for my wee girl? We went to the Power Rangers Megaforce/20th Anniversary bit on the Sunday before we came in to Collectormania, and when she saw all the folks dressed up (especially the girl dressed as a minion!) she was desperate to come as the Pink Ranger. Lord knows why the toy company only do the Red Ranger outfit, they're totally missing a trick there. Cheers

Oh man, am I the only one bummed out that it's the week before payday again? I wasn't able to get any photos etc this year because of the dates. I guess it's a set in stone sort of date window to tie in with Cardiff etc? Oh well, something to try to save for!

Thinking realistically, I'd love to see more female guests (as I'd posted in the 2013 section) - a lot of guests would probably be of the wish list variety & never happen apart from London (see: anyone from current shows that are big) The V idea is a cracker, Robert Englund will totally pull in massive crowds again - why not try to get him back & might I suggest Tony Todd as an alternative to the actors who've played Jason/Michael Myers requests? Just my own preference. I'd also like to see someone like Lucy Griffiths (Robin Hood, True Blood) or ANY of the West Wing cast. As I'm watching it on Netflix, I'll also throw Scott Bakula's name out there - I've seen Dean Stockwell at the last SECC Mem event a few years ago & he didn't seem too approachable, so Scott would be the perfect choice. Another name I reckon would blow the roof off the place for crowds but will never happen? JCVD. Edit: How about trying for some actors from Power Rangers? In some cases, like Cerina Vincent, you'll pull in the kid element and the horrof fans at the same time.

Definitely a winner IMO, would love to meet the main cast. I was always a HUGE Frank Ashmore fan, Martin was a total legend!

Gotta say, being part of the crew at this event looks like it would be epic fun! Although more a game for the younglings I expect!

Hey folks, My first time attending today (at long last!) and I just wanted to say a big thanks to the amazingly friendly staff at the event today, this is how it should be - happy folk clearly loving their job, not a miserable face to be seen even with the insane crowds! Well done all! Also I'd like to say thanks (though not sure if they'll see it here) to Leicester Vintage & Old Toy Shop, who came running after us when my daughter was crying to give her 3 dinosaur toys for free! Never seen such a kind act from a veondor at one of these & it really made a big impact! Hoping next years will fall after pay day though for once so I can afford the photoshoots etc!

I'd like to see more female guests, basically. Obviously it's all down to who's available/affordable, but Eve Myles & Alice Krige (though I saw neither in the whole time I was there today) being the only females in attendance was a bit of a letdown. I can only assume there were photo shoots ongoing the whole time from 11.30-2pm or so, as I didn't see Jeremy Bulloch, Lance or Robert Englund either. It'd be also cool to see more guests from Classic Who & original V - maybe a V reunion for 2014?

My daughter was too scared, but he seemed to get a kick out of my "way better than Batfleck" comment!

Thanks" Suppose that relates to me as well after the reply Colin Baker sent me a while back. Hate to say it, but nobody can stop you asking someone a question or mentioning that you're excited to see them at an event. Surprised there aren't reams of posts calling you a liar and such by now.

What about trying to get the stars of Irvine Welsh's Ecstacy along? Kristin Kreuk is obv very well known from Smallville too, and Adam Sinclair is from East Kilbride so might consider it. Billy Boyd is in it too. A good chance to grab them before they potentially go big. Just a thought, I'm biased as he was a good mate at school.
