  1. https://www.facebook.com/GibsonUKis where the photos are going to be :)
  2. Hi guys I posted a topic this morning but just incase you missed it - Facebook.com/gibsonuk And yes, it was hard not to admire it myself - this event was my first with the throne so it was a surprise to me too (I'd seen photos but it's not the same is it?)
  3. I've seen a few posts asking about where to find the Gibson cosplayers competition photos. The photos will be put into an album at facebook.com/GibsonUK See that page for further details. Could a mod possibly please pin this for anyone else that comes looking for info? Thanks :)
  4. Hi guys I was there with Gibson this weekend - the info of where the photos will be was on a sign you had to walk past on your way in... But it was a small sign I guess I will post a topic for all to see that will answer your question. Thanks for stopping by our stand this weekend!
  5. Reel big Martin Apologies I was not notified that you'd replied - I forgot to check. We do not have a back to the future guitar however we have plenty of other models to check out and pose with :)
  6. Hi there, I'm working for Gibson this weekend, so though this is NOT an official statement it is correct. 1) the competition will be cosplay based - I don't know the exact criteria to win, but essentially you need to be in costume and have us take your picture to enter the competition. The prize is a signed guitar. 2) yes the throne is there 3) at the moment it is free to sit on and pose etc, however cosplayers entering the competition are given priority if it gets manic.
  7. Haha! I think you definitely got the better one of us on Sunday - she's my favourite for sure too :)
  8. And Sam my forum is showing uk time so it must be something in your account settings
  9. You're welcome farmer - however I was minding Alan's que Saturday so the Saturday people didn't miss out - they just got a different flavour of awesome
  10. The crewmember who was minding Alan's que on Sunday doesn't have an account here, but I copied and pasted your post and sent it to her. she thanks you for your kind comments, and is really flattered you found her assistance worthy of public praise. Glad to hear you enjoyed our show this weekend.
  11. my holy grail autograph is mark hamill on a batman item - but because he's luke skywalker he charges approx 100 GBP at cons and rarely comes to england. i would imagine ian mcdiarmid (or his people, management etc i dont know) charges so much because hes exclusive - youre paying for the GUARANTEE of an IN PERSON auto. if you tried to catch ian mcD to get something signed finding him and stalking him would cost more than 70 quid. hes that scarce. no someone who does public things, or many films, or stage door stuff. its cons or not at all. shatner may be bigger, but hes done so much public stuff hes not as in demand. sometimes it appears to be about the "rarity" of their appearances rather than how famous they are.
  12. terry molloy - davros sheridan smith - gavin and stacey, two pints of lager, musicals, 8th doctor audio companion
  13. Im not sure if Darren has an account on here, but ill link him to this page for sure :)
  14. i have recently heard from an auto dealer friend that sir christopher uses a stamp to sign autographs as he can no longer write his name with a pen due to arthritis. ive also read online accounts of him doing it at a premiere recently too. so it looks like he cannot sign, let alone sign thousands in a row.
  15. dee bradley baker from american dad/clone wars
  16. id love to see Dee Bradley Baker, voice actor. he is a prolific voice actor but his most famous roles are Klaus the goldfish in American Dad and commander cody/clone troopers in the star wars cartoon. he has an email address on his site specifically for convention bookings, so it sounds like he's more than willing. he'd go down just as well as the futurama voice actors from last year
  17. i dont collect any of my autographs for value. i collect the odd one because i am a fan, for example my batman collection is purely because theyve been in batman, doesnt matter who they are or how much its worth. i also collect autographs of people i work with wether ive previously heard of them or not. ive got some autographs that mean the world to me from people whom ive never heard of but had a wonderful time working with them. mainly though, collecting autographs is a game. for me its about picking a person, and aquiring their autograph however possible. once ive actually got it it goes in the folder with the rest, id say maybe a handful are dear to me as a fan/memory of meeting them. most, if not all of my dr who ones i get personalised to my sister, because shes a massive fan. that way i get the "game" of aquiring them, but she gets the actual piece. ive met so many people from dr who but have nothing of my own to show for it, because thats not why i do it. its all a game.
  18. I liked her in buffy but to me she's the smart russian model in head over heels. It's a rom com about a woman who takes a room in a flat with models and hilarity ensues. Total nonsense but very entertaining and she is hilarious as the smart and gutsy one of the group. Reccommend it!
  19. Hi Dave, I've been confirmed as crew for Autographica. I was going to use my vouchers on a buzz photoshoot. Is there a way to preorder this or do I have to just see what's left on the day? I don't want to get in the way of paying customers but I'd rather spend my vouchers on that than anything else. Thanks
  20. aware this is an old post, but have to say I cant really hold anything against CL for these experiences. so many people complaining here had clearly gotten their hopes way too high. what did you think you were going to get? someone that big was always going to be that price, and a conveyor belt. i wouldnt usually pay 25 for a convention signature, but that was the only way i would ever meet CL as he is getting on, and is a cult figure to those of us who grew up with bttf, roger rabbit etc. when i got to him i chose one sentence to say to him. something about bttf being a big part of my childhood. he said thanks and shook my hand and gave a genuine smile. thats enough for me. i went in expecting a "hi" then conveyor belt out of there, but i got to say my peice and was acknowledged by him. so i came way feeling like id gotten more than i expected. i think the key here is having the right expectations based on the celebrity youre meeting and the situation. if its a convention and theyre a big star, you know the deal when you go. you are part of a que of people all there for the same thing. this is different to meeting an actor on set, or backstage at a concert or something like that where you are in a situation to stand and chat or have a drink. luckily some SM guests are free to talk briefly, or even for ten - 20 minutes if they have a break in their que. but thats a bonus and not a right. you are promised an autograph for your money - nothing else is promised. anything else is down to the luck of the day. i think you have to weigh it up based on what you want. i didnt bother with david tennant because it was too pricey, and not the situation i wanted to meet him in. but thats ME. i weighed up the situation and thought "ill pass on that one thanks" as i would want too much from meeting him and would only be dissapointed at a conveyor belt, no personalisations situation. thats my preference and im not about to complain if a thousand people do want to que up and do it. the fact is though not every price/guest/situation that conventions offer is ideal, organisers like SM have given you and me a chance of at least saying hello to some of my farourite performers. its up to you if you take them up on it. my advice is if you go to meet a specific person, dont build it up in your head. dont go in wanting the perfect moment. i have met some truly A list actors and musicians in all different situations, and every time go in expecting nothing, and if you do get the perfect moment great. if you get anything positive from meeting them, its been a sucess!
  21. I know I've already said batman guests, but ive noticed that eric roberts is doing conventions now. double whammy, batman and dr who.
  22. just want to chime in my suggestion, horror stars always good for me. buffy or batman related people. i see youve got anthony michael hall at your london event so i'll be adding him to my batman collection!
  23. If i do get to go i'll probably give david a miss... its going to be hectic, id guess its no personalisations due to him being busy. and the price... i've got one he sent me when i wrote to him. its personalised and i have met him before a while back so that will do for now. maybe next time ill have more cash! he is awesome though, i know everyone who goes to meet him will love him.
  24. Hey, I have a couple of things that i wanted to bring down and try and trade in to some stalls (classic movies, "making of" books) to hopefully save on purchases. I only have 4 or 5 items, so its not like im going to be setting up shop - but are there any rules against this? i know some conventions expect/encourage it, but not sure about showmasters and dont want to make any faux pas. thanks, Dave
