  1. That Ariel costume looks amazing! And I'm glad I'm not the only one going in costume on Sunday. If you can't walk, how are you planning to move around, or are you only putting it on for a photoshoot?
  2. Hi - I'm nearly seventeen, but I have a lot of experience (*sigh*) of being mis-aged and having to prove my age; and I wanted to be safe in case that happens at the con for the Masquerade and such. What kinds of proof-of-age would be deemed acceptable?
  3. This is my first con ever, though I've wanted to go to one for ages. Seeing fans of the various fandoms I'm part of going to wonderful cons in the US and such made me jealous, and I've been trying to go this show for a couple of years, but it's never worked out - plans for LFCC just fell perfectly in to place, though! And every time I check the site it just looks better and better, and at this point I'm so excited I can't wait
  4. Okay, so I guess I'm going to be the one who starts off replying to this thread.... With my kind-of-rubbish Karkat Vantas (from Homestuck) cosplay progress report, haha! Today I raided the lovely-as-ever Primark and came up with some perfect linen grey trousers, which not only disguise my curves but also drape well and are the perfect colour, as well as some perfect shoes, which was very lucky. However, I'm having to redo my shirt - luckily, it was only an afternoon of sponge-painting a design in grey paint, which I have kept along with the stencil - since I foolishly thought an old, too-small-for-me black tee would work. I'm also using this method for my hands, since I want to be able to go about my day without worrying about grey paint rubbing off on things; and therefore need to stock up on cheap black tights, as the cutting method is hard and I've run out of 'practise' surplus pairs I had from finishing school. However I have acquired the colouring gel to style and turn my hair black, and made my pointy false teeth using this method, which had the advantage of leaving me enough nails to file down to fit mine to add to the tight-gloves I'm making, which I've painted yellow and filed a hand's worth (5) already. Which makes this cosplay about 80% done in terms of effort and cost since I need to buy cheap tights and a t shirt (around £5?) but still expensive grey makeup, which'll be around £16. Anyway, after my very long and boring ramble, here's the first reply. ^^'
  5. Do you have to register to turn up in costume, or just to take part in the competitions?
  6. Well you've got less than a month.. What would be awesome but won't mean pulling too many all-nighters?
  7. He's one of my favourite authors, and I didn't realise he was coming! Lucky I checked on a whim the guests. May I ask, what's the deal with guests that you haven't been scheduled to have an op or an auto from - do they have tables/booths, or such? Sorry, I'm new.
  8. I'm cosplaying as Karkat Vantas from the webcomic Homestuck (on Saturday, because of photo ops and such, since it requires me to crossplay and go completely grey-skinned). I think another Homestucker's trying to make it in cosplay, too?
