Oops missed what will have to be 3b.. Gold reception evening - great relaxing time meeting the guests that 1st time and rest of con attendees!

Thought this might be an interesting topic..... What are the top 5 things you want to do/get from the con? For me.... 1 - Good and fun talks. I love the interaction between guests and us! Especially when the questions are challenging! 2 - Guest encounter when I've been lucky enough to win a place or bid the right amount and not break the bank! 3 - Video show and tell - so much fun when our guests tell us behind the scenes stuff of the episode being shown. 4 - Photo sessions - fun and genuinely feel you are meeting the guest properly even if it's just for a short moment! Like the fun group photo! 5 - Autograph sessions - tiring but normally worth it to get that special signature on the photo taken with you! Hope this was not too boring a list...... :-)

Ahhhh...explains it....used to do those myself! Don't miss them! You are good!

Well less than 19 days and counting! It's going to be my 6th con and looking forward to it! Talks, photos, autographs in that order! Wonder if I'll be lucky enough to win a guest encounter! Wonder how many of us will be there! :-)

Hi All. In fact if someone is coming on their own to the con and interested in sharing a joint auction bid for the guest meal which is normally always a bid for 2 people to join the guest meal let me know. Thanks.

I'm in the same position, and the funny thing is we were sat alongside each other not knowing the other was thinking exactly the same thing - you don't exactly ask those sat around you if anybody is interested in doing a joint bid. PS Your guess at the number of photos I'd take wasn't that far out when it came to the number I came home with of the convention itself (the file names go up to 1047 but I was deleting complete failures as I went along and I took 'a few' photos of the birds on the lake too). Oh no! I'm gutted! Really was looking forward to meeting Corin especially as he had to cancel last time due to his big accident and injury! Why did this happen! I thought he booked with us first?

I'd call and book direct rather than wait for the code to work on the hotel website if I were you...especially if you want a single room as those at discounted price normally go very quickly! :-)

Code works if you telephone hotel directly but not on website yet. Just booked my room successfully with reservations agent!

Yeah remember last few cons takes a while to get finalised.......

Know it's not for 10 months but wondered when the hotel code will be available? Looking at the normal hotel website it's £90 for a room for one person for bed (not incl breakfast) per night! Hoping negotiations for a special con rate have gone well!

Earlier comment I made re Auction meal - meant could we have both options where they offered the meal for 2 and meal for 1 as 2 auction items.....

Would it be possible for the auctioned meal with guests to include option for one person, rather than just two as I never bid as only need/afford for just me as don't attend the con with another person??? Also perhaps it would be possible to raffle off a place for the meal with guests??? Might be able to get more takers and make more money rather than just the current option of auctioning the two places???

It's usually a couple of days after the prev con has happened, although 1 time it was nearly a week afterwards late the Thursday evening I think! I understand about how you've met most of the 8.1 announced guests more than once...only I get the feeling the con might be rather special due to it being in line with the 20th anniversary.....!

No worries about going alone as many people do including myself! You end up getting to know alot of lovely other people (crew and attendees) so never really feel 'alone!'....

Hi, Mark+Jason advised yesterday as next year is the 20th anniversary their big plan was the possibility of getting up to 20 guests for the big event. They said for every 100 tickets sold will try to get an extra guest. Wow........

I also saw that about 90-100 Gold tickets already booked by Sunday late afternoon so when available on the online shop there are likely to be only 50-60 Gold pass tickets left! You will need to order your ticket quick if you want a Gold pass as they are likely to sell out quickly I think!

Sad bod that I am, stayed up and queued overnight to get early Gold pass ticket!
