Also my £55 dst entry voucher says invalid, I’ve emailed and no reply either :(

If if helps anyone waiting, I emailed last Thur (23rd) and got a reply today.  Was querying the outstanding balance on my Robert Beltran DST voucher and asking after Roxann Dawson vouchers as I hadn't received anything post-cancellation.  The very nice Felicity from the event shop combined them into a helpfully descriptive new voucher and sent it to me (so with luck I can now use it to buy a photoshoot at the LFCC). *cough*

  2. I was considering using part of my Robert Beltran cancellation voucher on a photoshoot with John Billingsley, who is a fair bit cheaper.  Does anyone know what happens to the remainder of the voucher, please?  It doesn't say anything about how it works on the voucher email, although it does mention a "balance", which suggests that if I use part of it, a "balance" will be left...

Sadly it was inevitable. I don’t think I will be attending a comic con for quite a while to be honest, although we don’t know what procedures will be put in place yet I don’t really want to pay a fortune just to keep a massive gap between me and the guest, that wouldn’t make for a great memory. It’s understandable but I think I will probably wait until things go back to normal

Agreed.  Much as I'd love to see some of the guests, I can't see it working with social distancing in place.  It'll be a shame if I can't go, as I've missed only one "main" LFCC since 2004.  Will wait and see how things progress over the next few months, but suspect a voucher in my future (at least I can spend it on LFCC in 2021, so thanks to SM for that idea)...

I'm having mental images of the photo shoots being modified to require face masks and standing two meters apart.

I've had that image too.  I did go to LFCC Spring, but it was a stressful experience wondering whether I'd put myself at risk, and that was before this wretched virus really took off.  Wondering how to cope with full-on social distancing at LFCC (especially with reduced space) is not a comforting thought.  (Can you imagine how the entry and photoshoot/auto queues would look?)  I understand SM not wanting to cancel prematurely, but I'd rather it be cancelled than go ahead and me having to miss it for safety's sake.  This thing is not going away any time soon.  Oh, well.  We'll just have to wait and see.  So depressing, though.

I hadn't actually read the full passage of the photo section.  Not sure if that phrasing is new and it's a bit ambiguous.  The way it typically operates is that for any ticket holder, if you arrive after your group has been called they try and slot you in near the entry of the booth, but I guess if the crew member was interpreting it as it says, they were obeying the perceived rules.  Unfortunately there's a lot to know with these roles and if the crew member was new to that role they may not be up on all the details I guess.

Yes, that's what normally happens.  I would never expect to be escorted right to the front, but the crew has hitherto taken me as close to the booth entrance as possible, behind any Golds/DPs already there.  I didn't recognize the crew member, so agree with your guess.  I was more upset by the entrance issue as I checked with a red shirt to be sure and she sent me to the back.  Grr.  Will get over it in a day or two, I'm sure, but I'm still in the angry processing stage.  At least the rest of the crew were delightful as usual.

  6. I didn't get anything.  Was given my wristband and waved in.  I presumed it was because it was a smaller con (I've never done LFCC Spring before), but guess not if other people got stuff.

Definitely wasn't worth the GP at this event.  One of the main reasons I have it is to get in early in case I need to get VQTs or DPs before a photoshoot.  Today I arrived at 9am and was made to join the back of the access queue because there was a "special desk" for Golds, so didn't get in until 9:30am.  Didn't feel too "special" watching all those standard entry people going in before me.   Absolutely livid about that.

And normally in photoshoot queues I'm allowed to slot in behind the last Gold holder if Batch 1 or higher has been called but not for my final shoot - was made to go to the back of the queue instead.  Technically going to the back of the queue is true to the description posted above, so I guess I can't complain, but I've never had to do that before (and the crewmember concerned acted like I'd committed a mortal sin by turning up just after he'd called Batch 1).  Talk about starting and finishing the day on a downer!  Usually I end these events on such a high, but not this time.  So glad I'm not going back tomorrow.  Hoping it's a blip and things are better at LFCC in the summer.

  7. Awww, I'm sorry for those people who are going to miss him, but this is actually SO much easier for me.  No more having to get up at 4:30am in the cold and dark in order to be there in time to scramble for his DP prior to a 9:30am shoot!  I can sort my DPs out on the Friday morning/afternoon of LFCC instead.  Looking forward to seeing Clark then.
