  1. Arrrghh! I've been so wanting him to come back as I hated my last photoshoot with him (my fault, not his), so it's great that I get another opportunity. My bank balance is crying, though...
  2. Oh, phew. Fortunately I've met him already. Great guest, though.
  3. Ack. Thanks for the heads-up. I think I'll be able to get by via the District Line instead, fortunately, although it might affect my arrival time.
  4. No-o-o-o! Oh, bugger, I never do Fridays but I may have to make an exception. (And of course it means I can get my DPs sorted out before the mania that is Saturday.)
  5. I've had a photo at DSTE with Aron and Max in full make-up and costume and I thought it looked great, personally.
  6. So... 48 days from today if one's not counting arriving on the Thursday, right?
  7. OMG! I can't, but ohmigosh, I so want to. I'm going to have to think about this.
  8. I scan them in so they appear on my screensaver (rotating happy memories!), and put the originals in acid-free pockets in an album. I get the latter items from Arrowfile.
  9. I was happy with mine, quality-wise. Photo C was a little darker than A, but if anything, it was more flattering.
  10. She was so sweet and enthusiastic (I was most amused at how impressed she was with my preparation as I'd brought a Post-It with my name on it for personalizations for a change ). Told her I was crossing my fingers for Lucifer to be picked up, which she much appreciated. (One guy actually wore a #Save Lucifer T-shirt. Now THAT was impressive!)
  11. I thought the pre-loading queue was handled better this year - I felt a bit sorry for Giles and his unwinding tape (especially when some wags tried to play with it), but it felt fairer to me to tape up the lines as attendees arrived to fill them rather than have the lines all ready and loads of people just walk straight across them to join the back of the queue and potentially get ahead of those who'd patiently walked through the entire serpentine. VQTs and queues were a bit out of control at times on the Saturday (especially with some popular guests very close to each other - the heat didn't help), but we managed OK (I didn't have much going on so was happy to go with the flow so long as I could escape to the fresh air from time to time). Was there only briefly on Sunday to get a Sunday-only guest auto, but that was incredibly fast. All my guests were lovely (as were the crew members I encountered), so I had a pretty good experience personally.
  12. I don't mind waiting - just wanted to be sure that they haven't gone ahead and missed me out. (My Eventbrite account is up to date, so in theory they can use those details to credit me.) But seeing as I'm not the only one waiting, no need for me to worry about that right now.
  13. Have refunds been processed yet, please? I haven't seen any refund thus far. (My bank card expired recently, but no-one's been in contact to confirm that they've tried to credit my account.)
  14. Awww, shucks. My bank balance will thank me, I suppose. Another time!
  15. The longest for me was just over a year. LFCC June 2006 - LFCC June 2007 (having started in November 2004). Since then, I've never been longer than 6 months between cons/signing events.
  16. I check the forums nearly every day, but yes, I like a little bit of advance warning for big guests too in case there's a danger of tickets selling out before I check again. Not too far in advance, though, as the tension can be unbearable - a couple of days before like this is good. As for announcements near the event date - some guests just can't/won't commit until really close to the time. I remember when a must-have guest was announced for an SM signing event I don't usually attend, literally a few days before. (My scream probably could have been heard all the way down my street.) I had to scramble to get tickets and a hotel room booked, but it was worth it.
  17. Nice! Except for the Sunday bit as I was hoping to see all my guests on Saturday. We'll see.
