  1. 29,500 on Friday and 29,300 today... 28.3 miles. I know your pain
  2. I've had nightmares, this was a pleasant dream ☺
  3. This was my 10 years with SM. Started crewing at LFCC 2007. Our family just keeps on growing!
  4. The tombstone also says..."Shot in the back by Buford Tannen over a matter of $80". Someone commented it was morbid to have Chris Lloyd having a photo taken of him smiling at this whilst for Tom it makes sense. All a matter of perspective ☺
  5. You and me both! First time in 3 years I think
  6. The assumption there is that the staff were told this. We were informed there was a strict no touching rule in place and that was the message we passed on as politely as possible. There was disappointment from staff and attendees alike on this front, however, Famke clearly didn't want to disappoint, so she agreed a solution that meant people still got a photo with her. Now we know the why, it doesn't really change anything except, hopefully, providing a rationale for, what seemed at the time, a strong, but not uncommon, restriction.
  7. Thanks PenThePirate. Definitely felt weird not being in photos and not being the queue person, but I knew Stuart would handle it! See you at the next show. Luke
  8. I really can't do it without the other crew doing what they do, and thank you. Glad you had a great time at this one.
  9. sidjames, what day did you attend? As the crew rotate jobs, knowing which day means we can make sure the comments get to the correct crew. Thanks. Luke
  10. I get "you look like Seth Rogan". Glad you got in!
  11. I'm deputy fire warden, and this is do true. We had a fire alarm go off once at a previous show. The stall owners were reluctant to leave their livelihoods and even one guest refused to move. In the event of an actual fire, people will move eventually, but not without making sure. First rule of fire marshaling is don't be a hero, get the hell out with everyone else.
  12. All the crew who aren't me deserve the awesome!
  13. Cheers! Its nearly back, got the post con lurgy trying to creep in too, so battling that at the same time. I could bellow again if I needed to though
  14. This isn't Showmasters policy, this is applied by the guest and/or their agent. We don't know if this will be applied until the day, and sometimes we're asked to change it part way through the day due to pace of queue progression because the guest wants to see as many people as possible. There are a number of guests I would love to meet and can't afford, and even as crew No Posed Photos or No Photos applies to us as well. Sorry, but this one is out of our hands.
  15. Just want to say thank you to everyone for this thread. Its very overwhelming for me to see that I had an impact like this, and I take the criticisms with the good so that I can improve for future shows. All of this praise extends to my crew family at SM. I may be out front, but in the photoshoot areas alone you have the people processing the tickets, the people handling your bags and coats, someone to guide you into and out of the shoot, our amazing photographer, someone checking the quality of your picture before handing it to you, as well as a nutter in red willing to keep an eye on us all and deal with any issues. Extend that to the 8 photo areas we had, 3 talk areas, numerous signing pits, green room, front door, sales, as well as the organisers and technical teams and you have a phenomenal number of crew without whom their absence would be noticeably missed. Feel free to follow me on my other handles (see my profile), but please note that i reserve Facebook for those who I know personally. I hope to see you at future events, my next one being Sheffield! Thank you all again.
  16. Sorry I cam across as a bit stroppy and rude, it was not my intention, but there is no excuse for it. I realised that my "Gold and Batch 1" was being mistaken for "Gold or Batch 1" (the pedant and mathematician in me not realising they would be read the same way) and the word had with my collegue was to ask him to shout out the with, rather than my colleague having a word with me. I hope the rest of the convention went OK for you. At Sherlocked my voice didn't give out until last thing on the Sunday, here I'd lost most of it by the end of Saturday, it was frustrating for me to not be able to use my voice effectively, but as I say about, its no excuse. Again, I am truly sorry.
  17. Sorry I came across this way and that you missed Rey. Many of the photoshoots overran, and although the advice I gave early on was valid at the time, it became less applicable as time passed. I know its no consolation after the day, but I really am sorry. Thank you for letting me use your schedule, it was of great use. On the Sunday they had given us a large poster schedule and floor plan on a near by wall, but on the Saturday I didn't have a full schedule to hand. For my next convention, I'll make sure I have one so I can have a clearer view of clashes.
  18. Sounds like you joined the cult of Luke. Was he making jokes and being generally funny plus has a beard. That would be Luke! :) The cult of Luke? Why is mine a cult and not a fandom? Thanks for the compliments though everyone who has directly or indirectly named me. Couldn't do it without my fellow photo crew, otherwise the queue wouldn't move! It has a better ring to it and wold make better T-Shirts! Make it the United Kingdom of Luke, and we wouldn't need to self print, just go to the store :-D
  19. Just come up to us and ask :-). We reserve the right to decline though.

  21. Gold! Always believe in your sooooouuuuullll....
  22. Thank you all who have commented. All the crew did a brilliant job this weekend. No one crew member can do their job without the support of the team around them and the pit bosses to also guide them. I couldn't do what I did without them. Also couldn't do it without the cooperation of those attending so thank you for helping us do what we do to make your days the best they can be.
