Heroes Season 4 - Volume 5: Redemption Discussion
Phoenix Will Rise replied to DavidB's topic in Heroes
Hmmm... so that's it over now... Anyway tell me what happened to Tracy, and for that matter, Mohinder too... did they just forget about him or was he written out and I just missed that quick line of dialogue? HOWEVER, I did like Claire's Brave New World ending, and the homage it paid to Season 1... I wonder if we will ever get to see any more from Heroes... will be sad if that really was the very end, but as an ending, for some of the characters, it felt quite fitting and final... Hiro, Ando, Claire, Peter, HRG & Sylar all seem pretty much done now... Tracy, Mohinder and Parkman are the only one's who didnt really have a satisfying ending and they deserved one... -
More Season 3 News - Debbie Pelt has finally been cast...
Phoenix Will Rise posted a topic in Bitten
One of the major players in Season 3 has been one of the last to be cast, but now, the psycho girlfriend of Alcide finally has a name/face to go with the character... BRIT MORGAN Best known for her short-lived role in The Middleman, Brit has also guest starred on shows such as Greek, CSI NY and Cold Case... I have to be honest, I dont know the actress or her roles in previous shows, but Debbie Pelt is such a great character, I hope Brit does her justice!! -
Dawn (who was fantastic and one of the only highlights in the current season of Heroes as the Tattoo Girl/Lydia) has singed on for Season 3 of True Blood. She will play Alcide's sister Janice... Dunno how similar her character/storyline will be to the books, but since she has left Heroes now, it will be great to be getting another regular dose of her on TV!!

Sadly Heroes continues to sink to unthinkable low's.... The last episode pulled in just 3.9 million viewers... As much as I hate the though... Heroes is DEAD, and with ratings drop as fast as they are, I dont see how NBC can agree to another season, which will really suck since all the cast/crew said that the show ends with a big finale... looks like there may be a lot of stuff not resolved... Season 4 ratings (in millions): 4.01 - Orientation - 6.0 4.02 - Jump, Push, Fall - 5.7 4.03 - Ink - 5.8 4.04 - Acceptance - 5.4 4.05 - Hysterical Blindness - 5.6 4.06 - Tabula Rasa - 5.6 4.07 - Strange Atractors - 5.8 4.08 - Once Upon A Time in Texas - 6.1 4.09 - Shadowboxing - 5.3 4.10 - Brothers Keeper - 5.0 4.11 - Thanksgiving - 5.1 4.12 - The Fifth Stage - 5.9 4.13 - Upon This Rock - 5.3 4.14 - Let It Bleed - 4.5 4.15 - Close To You - 4.7 4.16 - Pass/Fail - 3.9

Another fun promo!

Heroes came back in the US on Monday night with a 2 episodes back to back, and the series reached a brand new horrifying low!! Things are really not looking very good for Heroes to get a 5th Season... 4.12 - Upon This Rock - 5.3 million 4.13 - Let It Bleed - 4.5 million What is really worrying about the above numbers, is that from 8pm to 9pm, the show lost almost a million viewers... pretty much 1 in 5 people watched the start of the 2 hour event and then gave up... And the show's previous series low was 5.0 million, so dropping to 4.5 is again, a very big drop...

I dunno if that warrants a *vomit* from me... while he is the most undesirable love interest she has had so far, I would be very interested in finding out who they would cast to play him.... It's the twins which I am most interested in, and hope that we see them on the show very soon!!

How did you find out that you won the role? I had three meetings with Alan Ball. [After the last one], I got a call from my agent and manager. And whenever you get a call from your agent and manager, you have a pretty good idea that something good is about to happen. What was your reaction when they told you? I’m not afraid to admit that I started crying. I was just so excited. It’s a dream come true. When I was a little kid, the nun at my elementary school said if you pray for something hard enough, it’ll happen. And I would pray every day with all of my heart that God would turn me into a werewolf. And when it didn’t happen, I kind of thought, “You know what? Maybe this stuff doesn’t work. Maybe I’m getting gypped.†So here it is 25 years later and my prayers got answered and I’m going to be a werewolf. What was it about being a werewolf that appealed to you? I just loved Halloween. When I was 4, my mother dressed me up as a vampire and brought me to a haunted house. When I think about it now, bringing a 4-year-old kid to a haunted house is pretty intense. There was a vampire in the haunted house that jumped out of a coffin and I went up and tried to climb into the coffin with him. He wound up picking me up and putting me in the coffin with him and closing the lid. I [just] always liked monsters. There was something interesting about having this thing inside of you that you can’t control that comes out when you get angry. There’s something cathartic about the idea of having a beast inside you. Are you a fan of the show? Huge fan. I’ve seen every episode. Have you met Anna Paquin yet? Not yet. They wanted me to read with her. That was going to be my final audition, a chemistry read with Anna. But she wasn’t available so they had me come in by myself… I think it’s going to be great. I’ve seen a ton of her movies going all the way back to The Piano. I’m excited. When do you start shooting? Late January, so I’ve got some time. Every day right now is all about the Werewolf Workout. It consists of Krav Maga, which is an Israeli fighting technique, and Cross Fit, which is kind of a gnarly crazy high-intensity workout. And I’m doing a little bit of weights in between. Was this something Alan Ball asked you to do? No. This is something I wanted to do on my own. I’m a big guy to begin with; I work out a lot anyway. In my mind, I see the character as having a big chest, big arms — ripped the way an animal would be. Vampires have a supernatural strength to them, so you can have a vampire that is a little slighter. But a werewolf is this big, powerful, half man, half animal. I want to get as close to that as I possibly can. Will your Alcide be different from the Alcide in the books? Alan Ball and I had a conversation about that at one of my auditions. I think it’s up in the air. I know that, at least initially, fans of the book will be pleased with my character. What’s your take on Alcide? He’s really big. He’s giant. When Sookie first meets him, she opens the door and looks up, and then has to look up some more. So there’s this giant presence standing in the doorway with dark hair and dark features. He’s strong and protective. He comes from a construction background; his father is in the construction business. He’s heroic and romantic. I don’t think it’s a secret that he has a broken heart when he shows up. He had a really rough go of this relationship with Debbie Pelt, so there’s a lot of friction there. Debbie’s doing a lot of things to get back at Alcide. How long are you committed to the show for? Right now we’ve just talked about this season. What can Alcide offer Sookie that Bill and Eric can’t? Warm flesh and blood. That’s the neat thing about my character: Although he’s not entirely human, he is flesh and blood. He has a lifespan. In the books he hugs Sookie and she feels his skin and it’s just radiating heat. So I think the fact that he has some kind of sunburnt heat-radiating skin is just completely different. It’s [similar to when] she met Bill and what a relief it was for her to not be able to hear his thoughts. Are you ready to be thrust into the Eric/Sookie/Bill fan frenzy? For me it’s fun. I could see how if I was a 100-pound Hollywood actress it would probably be pretty scary, but I’m a big guy, so people don’t necessarily scare me in that way. With that said, I’ve had to go to the police a couple of times for stalkers. Really? They were really big… I don’t know how I want to describe it but they were guys. I’ve had two guy stalkers that I’ve had to go to the cops about. But other than that I think it’s a blast. It’s so fun to get caught up in that. It’s so fun to have fans care that much. It’s that whole Comic-Con, fanboy crowd. I love that. I started my career in Spider-Man, so I’m completely familiar with them and I love that kind of stuff. And you hear about love triangles all of the time, it’s going to be interesting to see how the love square works out. God, this guy is so hot, Anna Paquin is so lucky to get to "act" with all these stunning hot men...

Personally, I am much more interested in Eric/Sookie and of course it will be interesting to see how they work Alcide into the mix!

Brittany Murphy Dies Brittany Murphy died last night after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ. She was 32. The Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ they received a call to a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack. We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word." Story developing ... really cannot believe this....

The following interview seems to point towards the producers getting ready for The Final Chapter.... I still dont think Heroes will end this season... I think they will maybe get their notice at the end of the year that the next season (5) will be the last, so that they get the proder time to create a "real" ending.. rather than rush into something because they have been axed mid season... ....................... Producer Adam Armus Discusses Future of Season 4 "Our plans are to end this year, whether it's the last year or not, in a world-changing way," Amus said. "Whether or not we continue the next year, it will lend to future inspiration for whoever thinks about these characters, whether they exist on other platforms or whether they exist on television or whether it doesn't exist at all any more. It will lend your imagination to 'Oh, my goodness, the world has changed now, and what does that mean?' Amus added: "We don't have to be saved from an island. We don't understand what the future fast-forward means. We don't have a central question to answer. What we have are people who have to live their lives and accept their lives and have to move on with their lives. And whether we keep telling their stories or not, as far as I'm concerned, these people will continue to live on in people's imaginations, because they are people who live with abilities, and that's both a blessing and a curse in our world. Those are stories that can continue to be told."

I think it is because One Upon A Time in Texas was hyped up a LOT, and seemed to get a lot of extra press and media mentions, so I guess that attrached more viewers, but then they must not have been impressed enough so never came back after that.. To be honest, even I, a massive Heroes fan, have only seen the first 5 episodes, I am struggeling to get through this season, it just seems that there is so much more better things on TV now... which is a shame, Heroes deserves to do better... Part of me feels that they should (if they get the chance!) have 1 more series, and almost start a fresh, wipe out all the current characters (they each have too much history now and they keep contradicting themselves/their history, and to be honest, I am finding it hard to care for ANY of the existing characters in the show now), and try building the show from the ground up again and who knows maybe that could give it a boost and bring back the season 1 magic... But with the ratings as awful as they are now, I dont even know if NBC would bring it back for another season... I dont have oversea's ratings, does anyone know how it's doing? Is it still a hit outside of the US? I think the UK ratings also took a massive tumble, to the extent that BBC are not even worried about if they show it or not anymore... I remember last year we were chatting about this, and people were saying, a long as it stays above 6 million then it should be fine... but now it's potentially going to be below 5 million....

From airlockaplha.com and the odi: This could be bad news for "Heroes" fans. Real bad news. Sources at NBC have told Airlock Alpha that the inevitable is finally happening: Networks executives will ask "Heroes" producers to wind the series down, possibly with an overall finale by May. "There isn't much happening with this show in terms of audience, and giving it a 'final chapter' feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang," said the source, who asked not to be identified. "Heroes" began in 2006 as NBC's most buzzed show, and wowed both audiences and critics through the first season. However, Season 2 took a slow start creatively, likely not helped with the departure of producers like Bryan Fuller(who had left to run "Pushing Daisies" on ABC). While the audience stuck it out in the beginning, that started to change by mid-season when the audience erosion began. It finished its second season with a 6.6 rating/10 share, however, second only to "Lost" among averages of overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co. for network genre shows. However, by the 2008-09 season, "Heroes" fell to fifth among network genre shows, with a 4.7/7 average, down nearly 29 percent from the year before. This year after seven episodes, "Heroes" is averaging a 3.6/5, more than 23 percent off from last year, and 45 percent off its pace from the second season. It's currently averaging as NBC's lowest-rated outing on Monday behind the 3.7/6 average of the now-canceled "Trauma" and the 4.4/7 of "The Jay Leno Show." Of course, in the "Jay Leno" instance, his numbers were artificially boosted by an 11.0/18 premiere the week before the fourth season of "Heroes" started, and fell to a 3.8/6 the following week, and has hovered just above the 3.0 household rating mark ever since. "Heroes" might not be the only one saying good-bye this season. With NBC looking for a firm finish in fourth place among all the networks once again, the new guard coming in is looking to really change things up, including possibly a completely revamped lineup that could include the reduction of hours devoted to "Jay Leno." According to this source, "Heroes" is just not part of that mode. "To keep a show like this going despite its numbers requires some nostalgic connection to it, and while there are a lot of people here who were part of bringing 'Heroes' to the air, they are not in the decision-making capacities," the source said. One thing to stress, however, is that no final decision has been made yet, and likely won't be made until closer to mid-season. The source was not even clear if a wrap-up directive had been issued to "Heroes" quite yet. If it hasn't, it will. "I don't think this should surprise anybody," the source said. "The writing has been on the wall for some time." Airlock Alpha did request comment from NBC early Thursday afternoon, which is still pending. However, none of this has been confirmed by NBC quite yet, and should be treated as any rumor would.
