Yeah I agree, I see that my post may have come across as If I was actually suggesting camera pods by each guest, I know this wouldn't work for many reasons Its was just a hypothetical saying I would want this type of photo (my example was suggesting the futility of my craving) What I suggested would have nothing to do with the cost of your Gold Pass or any further cost unless you wanted it to. Imagine eclipse happening exactly as it is now but someone decides to stand at the back of the room taking posed photos of people (this person works for himself and has nothing to do with Showmasters except they agreed for him an area to work in) he is taking photos of people who have the prior knowledge that taking the pic is free but they will have to pay if they want to keep an Image. These people have the knowledge that they will have the thumbnail uploaded, or perhaps even get the option of ordering a test sheet (basically 1 A4 sheet with all their images on (if the don't consent to them being uploaded for proofing) then there is no cost or threat to the people who want the images and to people like you who don't want to be involved in this at all don't loose out because none of your money has gone towards it. Sorry to keep reiterating my point I'm not trying to make you agree with me, This doesn't appeal to you and I feel strongly about it, that's fine. I'm just trying to make sure you fully understand what I meant with my idea, as with your last post I felt you missed the point I was getting at with the photo taking being free and that this "photographer" would essentially work for himself and and not paid for by the hosts, or via the attendees such as you and I. If people don't want pictures of themselves on-line, this is not the best sort of event to attend. I'm not trying to say If you don't want people taking photos of you then you shouldn't come or don't deserve to be here, but that if you turn up to an event where the majority of attendees are media and tech buffs then expect it to happen.

I was jsut reading the post regarding the Quiz and decided to check back a t the website, I would live to know what to expect at this event as much as possible and was wondering if anyone had any idea is Massive events will be publishing an itinerary of what will be happeing and when. What I would love to know is: What times are all the parties, talks, photo sessions, the quiz and any other events. what sort of vendors will be attending. possible layout map of the area. Some of this info is already available but its just not 100%, I know its still early and I don't expect times at this point. does anyone think that this info will be available to us before the event or will it be a case of work most of it out when you get there. We all like organising for events and the more info we have available to us beforehand, the better. I also know this should not be as frantic as events such as this years LFCC. but I want to be as prepared as possible So I don't was a minute of my time. As I was told in scouts "Always be prepared"

I heard from a good friend and a BIG Doctor Who fan that Christopher Eccleston Does not do convections at all. I would love to meet him to, If my mate I right and He wont do Doctor Who conventions I doubt he will do this.

What I meant with the party photos (in my vision) was having a small booth at the back of the room with a couple of flashes and a neutral backdrop. let everyone queue there to get professional photos of themselves (all dressed up) If they want, have this happening all night with one photographer just taking shots of people alone, couples groups ect, not bothering guests, just themselves. No cost to have a photo taken just keep queueing, then the next day or 2 weeks later log on to the photographers hosting site (most photographers have one). find a sample of their image/images if they have several and just pay for what they want. the [photographer works for himself so if he sets up and nobody turns up he can let people know he can pack up and you don't have top pay for a photo before hand when It could turn out bad. I see that as win win It wont bother you if you don't want it and it wont cost anybody (including the photographer) anything but time. what will the payoff be? depends how many people want it... I've seen this type of system work several times and I think If people are in costume it could generate even more interest. FYI Everyone: For the Patrelli Campaign Night I'm going as a photographer and I will have the majority of my Kit so if anyone wants a photo just ask, I wont Charge I always upload most images to flickr and display via my website I can give you my website address there so you can get a link to it. then you can take it where you want to get printed. If you're in costume I will probably try to take a pic of you anyway. I personally prefer more candid shots too, posed photography looks so fake, Nothing can better a good natural image. The problem Is getting a good natural shot takes a lot of luck and If people do want a photo to remember the night. they will need to get a posed photograph. asking someone to follow you and take a natural shot defeats the point. In the case og Phots with the guests I would rather have a shot of me with the guest having something signed or sharing their hand when I meet them as It's more personal. I would suggest that Showmasters consider the idea of having a cam at each guest automatically taking shots of signings "like at Alton Towers on rides" but this is too impersonal. I know what your saying but if people want the guarantee of having a good photo they can use a professional like I suggested but if they find after the event they have enough good shots they don't have to buy their professional one. but if you want one and it turns out all the party shotrs your friends take come out naff you may be disappointed. I need to learn when to stop typing, Sorry.

As good as most compact cameras are They cannot take as good a shot as someone SLR Camera. There is a lot more to photography than point and click, I don't mean to be patronising as I'm sure you know this but I could probably guess there is more to it than you think you know. That sound patronising again I'm sure, please understand I don't mean to be I just don't do well getting things across to people. I'm sure you get what I mean, A compact camera cant really produce the sort of professional photo that you get in the photo sessions, If they did they would use them. Its that sort of equipment coupled with a neutral backdrop and a decent flash that makes a photo, As people are dressing up they may want professional photographs (like that at a school prom) since they have put the effort in. I cant see people paying £15 or more for them but I'm sure People would consider up to £10 and if you put into effect that having a photograph taken would be free then the images would be uploaded online or shown on a display the the event so you can purchase them iff you lie them it would be more attractive. Basically, I can see people wanting to have it done. I do agree regarding the cost. perhaps it would be for a photographer to approach showmasters and offer to work the event for free with his work being the commission. but in this case It would probably need to be a fan who thinks that doing this is oin their power and that the interest is going to be there so they can make some money from it.

Sorry to link right back to the beginning of the post, I think that the professional photographer at the party would be a good Idea, When I was at my school leaving party they had a photographer stood to the back of the room, everyone got one photo taken (if they wanted to queue) pretty much on the way in then he was open for group shots all night with 2 studio flashes and a pretty neutral background (similar to showmasters photo sessions set up) I got in about 20 photos with mates and loads of proof shots were uploaded to our school site. You could then buy whatever prints you wanted. If this is the sort of thing you mean (so you can get photos of you and your boyfriend) I like the idea too, the problem I see though is that they would need to get another photographer or two just for the evening shots as the guy who does all the photo session images (Malcolm) would probably need a new neck if he had to do them as well. I like this idea but I cant see it happening to be honest unless showmasters found a photographer (with his own equipment) who would work the event for free but make money from selling the prints. As for a photographer snapping shots of people enjoying the party I wouldn't worry. Every event I've been to so far I have uploaded pics to this page, Flickr, Facebook and countless other places and people have asked me for High res copies and they have been handed out no problem, people have tagged my Facebook images and I have tagged me in countless others. With this event It's for 3 days there are those of us going that will recognise each other from past events and over the 3 days we will all probably get chatting with different groups of people. I am a Semi Pro/Enthusiast Photographer and I take loads of photos of events I took over 1000 just at Milton Keynes. I expect to take over 3000-5000 images on my Cameras alone then my girlfriend now has her own camera for taking shots too, so with only 800-1000 people attending I hope to get you all at least once. Don't worry I'm not going to be uploading 5000 photos, That's just how many I take before deleting the bad ones. I'm certain as this will be a much closer event you will be able to find plenty of good pictures of yourself after. If you don't get your wish and ave a pro photographer there por these sorts of images, I know I and am sure most other attendees with a professional camera will find a nice spot to get some good photos of you, Personally i would be happy to do it just for the practise of taking portraits

Well thanks to Psychosis' original advice of buying the top from cafe press and my own addition of getting a netball skirt and sewing some stripes on it I am very proud of my own costume for this years xmas fancy dress. To be fair Psychosis looked better in hers, the only thing I think that ruins mine is the transvestitey edge to it. Sorry for the disturbing imagery guys but my Hiro costume got shot down when teh Sword Ban came into effect and my manager whinged something about having weapons in the workplace being bad? I figured it would be fun for everyone at work to have a laugh but i's amazing how many people look at you differently just for dressing like a woman and skipping around all day. C&C welcome as I'm stumped as to how I can make this costume any better...

AHHHHHHHH! how stupid can I get! Rhetorical question. If we get a Mod on her would it be possible to bump Say Eric Roberts for Masi. No Offence Eric but you were just on there as a space filler and weren't what I would call a big guest. If It cant be edited just nuke the pust and I will start again.

I know this is all ready being discussed but I love polls for showing a good clear view of what people are leaning towards. For those people unaware of tonights Big guest announcement plesae read the post here. Ok I want to focus here on who you think tonights guest will be, not who you want (It can be who you want, if you can back it up. no I hope it will be ect) but Judgeing from the wording of the other post things like Big Guest I think we can all assume its not going to be Ashley Crow (Read Sandra Bennet) or such like character. Everyone gets one vote in the poll too. For example, The way this has been handled screams to me that we are all realy realy going to want this guest and the biggest on the show to me is Masi Oka, I dont think I would have many people saying different. If there were a "main man" it would be him or Milo. But I just dont think either of them will turn up, My money would be on Ali Larter, it makes sense to have her accompany Noah Gray-Cabbey. Nikki/Jessica/Whoever else may be hiding in her I'm voting for you. Lets see if we can guess the right guest.. *edit* Please be careful about Season 2 stuff, even if it's vague. Thank you. they said that they expect this Guest announcement will cause the tickets to sell out almost imediateky so they are prewarning people that if you are still considering there is a blooming good chance you wont be able to get tickets for long after this announcement. Oh and they want people to get excited

hey guy's, I'd like to start by saying that I am not trying to be negative and that what I am asking may be taken the wrong way. With the fact that the guest has not just been announced and instead we have been given a teaser of "Its coming on Monday" this has caused a lot of people to get excited with the speculation of who it could be. My hope is for Masi Oka or Ali Larter, I think there will be more chance it being the later, (no pun) of the two. But if its a guest such as Leonard Roberts (D.L.) or Nora Zehetner (Eden McCain) would people be upset? (I have only picked them as two of the lesser sung characters on the show) Now personally I would love to meet anyone and I mean anyone from the cast. So what I am really asking is that are people expecting that due to the announcement of "were going to make an announcement" are people expecting that this will be one of the Top main characters Such as Masi, Hayden, Ali, Milo, Adrian ect and would people be disappointed if after the hype it turns out to be one of the charcters with smaller parts. I don't mean disappointed that the guest is not one of the main headlines but that the build up was unnecessary if it is one of them. are people expecting Massive Events to bring out one of their big guns or are peopel still expecting it may be a smaller character?

What would be showmasters position if they all cancelled of if we ended up with only 2 or 3 guests? would they offer refunds as an option or would that only happen if the whole event was cancelled? could the whole event be cancelled or would it go ahead even if we have "no" guests I know this is quite extreme as far as unlikely goes but I'm just speculating

Hey Guys, At the time of writing it has been stated that the December 4th Episode of heroes (Episode 11) will be the final episode of this season. It has been rumoured however that if the writers strike ends at some point soon-ish a second half or at least a few episodes to tie up loose ends. If more filming is needed they are going to need to work around the clock to get so many episodes done in so little time. meaning guests could pull out of Eclipse. Alternately If the strike continues or they decide to film no more shows this year there could be more of the Actors out of work looking for things like appearing at Eclipse to fill up their time. I find myself on one hand wanting the strike to end so I can get more of may fave show but fear I may loose out on meeting some of the stars. on the other hand I want the season to totally end so that the actors have free time and make it more likely that more of them will be at Eclipse. what do you guys think?

2 Questions, In what tone did Malcolm mean that was he actually annoyed with the Idea or was he just jokeing? and did Adrian say anything about plans for continuing and having a volume 3 as rumours say that Chapter 3 is already a no go this season and we shouldn't expect a second half to season 2
