Scottish bank notes questioned
Marky242 replied to snedders's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Actually, if you had read the thread properly I think you'll find that I was replying to a post from 'Indestructible' - it was them who stated that it was the ENGLISH who had bailed out the SCOTTISH banks - I then ASKED what specifically Scottish banks were bailed out and you replied RBS. Also, it was the whole banking sector that was in crisis at the time (wasn't the first in trouble Northern Rock??) -

Scottish bank notes questioned
Marky242 replied to snedders's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
The currency IS the same as the country you are in - the currency is sterling. At the moment we are all part of the United Kingdom and all use the same currency! Also, jokes about Scottish notes isn't racist but is very tiresome when you hear it so often! -

You are indeed correct. RBS? Just because it has Scotland in the title doesn't make it an exclusively Scottish bank though! Also, funny how that Northern Rock was one of the first banks to go belly up but no, lets state that the ENGLISH bailed out the SCOTTISH banks. Pretty narrow minded view. -

The English bailed out the Scottish banks?? Wasn't it the whole of the UK that bailed out the banks? Also, what specifically Scottish banks were bailed out? -

I've been going to Showmasters shows in London & Milton Keynes for years and never had a problem with them accepting Scottish notes. However, this has happened to me at a rival show years ago and I just took my money back and walked away. If they question your money don't give them your business! This won't be an issue post Independance anyway - we'll have the Irn-Bru bottle as our currency!! -
Dealers getting multiple autos
Marky242 replied to Jumpyghostface's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Dealers pay the same price for their autographs as everyone else. It is then up to them what they do with these autographs. they can ask whatever price they want (whether folk are prepared to pay their asking price is another matter!). For some folk, ordering through a dealer and paying their markup is cheaper than traveling to the show itself (travel cost, accomodation, entry fee, food - it all adds up). -
Billy Dee is not the most talkative of people but will respond if spoken to. Might not be the best experience you've ever had with a guest but he's certainly not rude.

Who had "No posed photo" signs today?
Marky242 replied to CollectingMadMan's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Corey Dee Williams had a no posed photos sign which was very strange as the guy next to him (Julius LeFlore) had a lot more important parts in ROTJ than Corey but didnt have a photoshoot and was more than happy to pose for a photo. Was also told that it was in his contract that there was no posed photos due to him having a photoshoot which goes against everything that has been said on the forum about this issue before. -
Met her at 4pm and asked if she would add Leia under her sig (which ive had her do before and she has a very quick way of doing so there is no hold up) she said she wouldn't but she would draw a face. She then proceeded to draw a basic smily face with buns on the side. This was on a personal pic which was already signed by John Ratzenberger. She seemed very 'hyper' during our meet.

Personalisations - Stan Lee & Other Big Guests
Marky242 replied to pretenama2012's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Carrie signs her name and then loops the R of Fisher down which becomes the L - then she adds eia. All letters in her sig run into each other without breaks. -
Met her last lfcc she was at to get a GOT poster signed for a friend and she was lovely. Meeting her again this time to get my Dredd 3D poster signed.

Marky242 replied to Nick225's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Comic Guest autos are normally free on your own item. If you want a sketch from them then there would be a charge for that. -
Why wouldn't there be any more CMG's if we vote YES to independance? Or is that another scare story that Better Together have started, along with we won't be able to use the £??

Latest Guest Announcement - DEAN MITCHELL
Marky242 replied to showmasters's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
There are plenty of other genres being represented at LFCC - not just SW and Dr Who. Also, IMDB is not a 100% accurate site for getting information on who was in what when it comes to background actors. I very much doubt Showmasters would tell lies about a guests involvement in a movie or series.- 27 replies

Latest Guest Announcement - CARRIE FISHER
Marky242 replied to showmasters's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
Do you have a picture of that to show? Love to see it. I've seen this pic before! Love it, and I think I've seen it signed Carrie will probably have no problem signing it as she has a great sense of humour, unfortunately Peter refused to sign it for my friend at the last London show he was at and claimed it was photoshopped or someone else in the suit as he wouldn't do a thing like that!!- 357 replies
