  2. Maybe Were still waiting to hear back from some last minute guests so it all depends on whether they are available that weekend.
  3. Hi Daniel. Thanks very much for coming online today. And thanks to everyone else for staying in on Saturday night! Talk to you soon mate. Take care. Mark
  4. We are pleased to announce a new guest for Collectormania 4: DAVID NAUGHTON (click here for info) David is best known for his lead role as David Kessler in American Werewolf in London. Pic to follow shortly.
  5. Hmmmm. No. You can share some of my chocolate though. Andrea
  6. Nasty Hope he didn't scrape his knees or elbows. We don't want our David getting injured! I never had any kind of small furry animals, but I had a cat. I think small furry animals and cats would have been a bad combination. Oi, Showmasters! cheeky people ... which one of u was it that wrote that? I see u USUALLY sign ur posts with who it is, but not when ur getting cheeky about me! Awww, sowwy David! I didn't mean to be a cheeky little monkey! It's just the topic title immediately made me think of trolley racing, and the fact it said you were off your trolley made me think of someone falling out after a big crash. Not that I used to that kind of thing when I was a kid... But I meant it about not wanting you to get injured in any kind of trolley racing accident! Andrea (who forgot to sign her last few posts)
  7. I'm not a big fast food fan, but if I had no other choices then I would have to go with BK. Definitely better burgers. Mind you, I am a bit partial to McDonalds breakfasts. Have you seen how many calories there are in the scrambled eggs though!?

  9. Yes, I know. Apparently DavidB fell off his!
  10. I actually thought that Darth Owl's last response was fair enough. I do not want to stop anyone voicing their own opinions on this forum. We do have a couple of rules, but we try to keep them to a minimum in order that everyone can express their own opinions. If I wanted to I could have deleted or locked this thread ages ago. I did not, purely because I see no reason to. We are not above taking reasoned criticism. I hope that people will treat each other as they expect to be treated, and sure, sometimes threads can become a little heated, but that's life. So long as nothing inappropriate is posted, I invite opinion and discussion. This is indeed, a discussion forum. I leave it to other people to decide if there is anything further they have to say on the subject. Thanks all. Mark

  13. I nearly went to Staffs Uni! I ended up at Croydon instead though, there seemed to be a bit more "buzz" about the place. Plus it was much closer to London! Is Staffs Uni really that bad? I must admit I didn't really like the look of the place when I visited but it was a miserable day and the place was pretty much deserted so that probably didn't help! God, I wish I was back at Uni!
  14. Hi, Most of the tickets for the screenings and talks will be sent out by post (they should be with everyone sometime next week). However we thought it would be easier for those people travelling to the show from other countries to collect their tickets directly from us once they arrive in the UK. That way there was no chance of them being lost or delayed in the intenational post, or for us to make a mistake writing out the addresses, etc. If you do still have concerns about your booking please e-mail me at the address in my signature (botton of this post) and I will check that everything is alright for you. Andrea
  15. 4 Weeks! OH . . . . . . . . . . . . .MY . . . . . . . . . . . . .GOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mark
  16. You know what, I think the phrase six of one, and half a dozen of another applies here! I have pretty much said what I feel needs to be said before. However, I do not like the them and us camp that seems to be being created here between Star Wars fans and the rest of the forum. It saddens me, despite what I have previously said, that the likes of Bruce Banner, Darth Owl and the other Star Wars fans feel that we do not care about them. It is simply not the case, but if you won't believe that then there is little I can do to change your mind. I would like to get you some fantastic Star Wars guests, and believe me, the fact that we don't have any is not for the want of trying. I do not normally comment on guest announcements, but I just want to say this. We have contacted EVERY major Star Wars guest that there is who has not previously done an event in this country. ( By EVERY, I mean EVERY ). At the present time, ( with the exception of two people we are waiting to hear from ), none were either available, or willing to attend Collectormania 4. At one point, we were actually in pretty advanced negaotiations for this event with several major stars, and although they cannot now attend this show, things do look promising for the future. I do not want to fill the show up with more secondary Star Wars characters. I just do not feel that the demand will be there to meet them, bearing in mind most of them would be related to the Prequels, and so need flying from all round the world. If I am wrong on this point please tell me, but you have to remember that there are commercial considerations to take into account for us aswell. Finally, I would just like to take this opportunity to apologise to the Star Wars fans for the way they feel. It saddens me that you feel we have handled this incorrectly, despite our best efforts to bring you guests that we thought would be good for the show. All I can say is that you cannot know the effort we have put into trying to bring you great Star Wars guests for C4, but sometimes things are just not in our control to fix. I hope that Darth Owl will at least join us for a future Collectormania, and not feel that we have, or would want to alienate him. Thanks. Mark
  17. Only 80 more posts to go before we finally reach... 100,000 posts! Oh, and only 52 more members before we reach 1,000 registrations! If only they weren't all aliases...
  18. Happy Birthday, Hon!! Here's a little treat for you...
  19. All right, I'm getting really sick of this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and entitled to voice it. However no one opinion should be considered more valid than another and there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for making personal or insulting comments about another poster or taking a "holier than thou" stance because they disagree with you! There is also no excuse for belittling a guest who is unable to defend themselves on this forum, especially when the reasons given are based purely on rumours, speculation and urban myths. Mr Kurtz was co-founder of Lucasfilm Ltd and co-wrote many sections of the story and script for Star Wars: A New Hope. He oversaw all of the production of A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and has an intimate and vast knowledge of these films. He LEFT Lucasfilm just before filming of Return of the Jedi began for personal and professional reasons, and to move on to more challenging projects. There was no animosity or ill feeling when he left Lucasfilm and he still remains good friends with Mr Lucas. Bruce Banner: As we have said before, we have no plans to work with Lou Ferrigno in the near future. He attended Collectormania 3 last May and we try to invite new guests to each show, so I am afraid you have missed your opportunity to meet him. Other Star Wars Fans: As we have stated repeatedly, we are trying to bring you another Star Wars guest to replace Billy Dee Williams. However I for one am becoming very SICK of posts demanding more guests and (which is worse) blaming other popular films and their fans for the lack of Star Wars guests at this particular show. The simple truth of the matter is that there has been ample opportunity to meet many, many actors from the Star Wars films at many other events, and we want to invite guests who have rarely made appearances before. In the past we have brought the likes of Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan all the way from New Zealand to our show, and will probably be bringing other major Star Wars actors to future Collectormania shows. However this does not mean that we are OBLIGED to have Star Wars guests to every event we run! No one is forcing anyone to go to Collectormania. If there are no guests attending that you want to see then there is nothing wrong with sitting this one out and waiting until C5, or C6. And if you cannot wait that long, well there are plenty of other shows and conventions with Star Wars guests that you can visit in the mean time! I want this to be an end to the subject, and to the squabbling and bitching on this forum. If I see any further posts of an unpleasant or insulting tone I will be forced to lock this topic and WILL consider banning any member taking part. Andrea Showmasters
  20. That's your opinion, and a minor one at that. Besides from what I've heard Lucas actually sacked Gary Kurtz, hence his non involvement in Return of the Jedi, so what does that tell you? It tells me that your knowledge of Star Wars is a bit iffy. It was generally assumed by everyone involved with Return of the Jedi that Gary would by producing again. Gary had no intention of being involved with the third movie and declined the offer to return as producer. If you are interested in the reasons behind his decision, perhaps you can ask him at C4. For the record, Gary and George remain close friends to this day. Kenny
