I've done a bit of research, and I think it's just a mistake by the production co. They are both credited as being Griphook but they are actually different characters. They even appear together in the photo on the front cover of the Daily Prophet! Andrea

It''s probably just me, but I find when I watch the films I am also imagining how the missing storyline would look. At one point I was sure they had shown Sirius as a black dog and I had to see the film again just to check! Andrea
