  1. I'll post this here as it's interesting info from Jason, posted in reply to someone on Facebook so it might not be seen by a lot of people. The last bit about the new systems in particular. Jason V Joiner there is a reason we ask people to not to encourage people to resell there tickets , and this is why , last years event we had 150 plus people that had bought tickets in auction and on line and they had been given a valid ticket number but in this case the person had resold this ticket to over 30 times to people and then event canceled the ticket to buy an upgrade which we do allow and he then proceeded to re sell the Dimond pass , he did this all with stolen credit cards and as such everyone got taken and we estimate that around 150 plus fans got ripped off . this is why we don't allow reselling because this happens , its hard to say it but it helps stop scalpers and con men , this years event will have both con men and scalpers as the guests for this years event are going to be amazing so please tell everyone to not buy tickets from anyone other than the official ticket office, also we have two things that we have held of useding to stop this from happening , with the big names that we have for the first time we are using this new security system so we will spot around 50% to 70% of tickets that have been resold , ANY transferal ticket that we find we are going o ban the person that bought them from being able to buy them in future , we are sorry but this cost lots of money to real fans being tickets they though were valid so this is not right and we do have to do something to stop this , so please don't try to resell ticket and i would hope the page owners can help us and the fans by not allowing this to happen on this page as it is agents the rules and they are there to stop people from getting ripped off , thank you all for reading , jason

  2. Now that I've (for the moment, at least) finalised this, I think it might be interesting to talk about it. I remember recently people were sharing spreadsheets and stuff about the guests they are seeing. I have a completely different thing which I do, which I haven't seen anyone else do, so I'm curious as to wether or not anyone esle likes this idea. Basically I create an image collage (such as the one below) of the guests I will be hopefully meeting at LFCC. I print a copy of it off for me to take to the event. I then tick the people off once I see them. I put one tick on their image if I get a VQ for that person. I add another tick if I successfully get their autograph. If I get a photo shoot, that also gets a tick. So some people could be ticked off three times if I manage to get both a photo and auto with them. I like this method because it allows me to easily keep track of who I've got and what I still need to get. What do you guys think of this? I've been doing it since LFCC 2016 so I know it works for me, but I haven't seen anyone else do something like this.

  7. I know this is probably slightly controversial, but I REALLY hate Funko Pops! These horribly designed mass-produced plastic figures seem to be everywhere I look and I can't be the only person who can't stand them. I think my main issue is that at every ComicCon there are seemingly endless stacks of these lifeless cookie-cutter characters that are overpriced and seemingly have people going crazy to collect them. Also, it's now really difficult to find any decent quality action figures or figurines which actually look like the characters they're supposed to represent, as every retailer has filled their shelves with the soulless little bobble-heads! Someone, please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like this. Bring back proper quality collectables, and let's see the end of these things!

  11. My motto in life - if it's too good to be true then beware. It probably is. It's why I only buy through legitimate sources. And Showmasters are not alone in having tickets that are non-refundable and non-transferrable. It is standard practice for pre-paid events both big and small. Showmasters do already have a limited refund/resell policy. If you upgrade your ticket, for example a photo session to a diamond pass, then presumably your photo session ticket will be available in the shop for someone else and you have the money back for that ticket. Maybe there is a way of extending this facility with some strict controls in place. Showmasters are after all running a business. If they don't make money then they can't book the great guests and we all miss out.

  12. SM were looking at a platform, Jason mentioned this 2 years ago or so. But this is something that needs careful planning, so I am not surprised it's not settled yet.

  13. This all makes sense and is completely reasonable. In the future maybe Showmasters should have a facility to resell tickets. Stuff happens were people genuinely can no longer attend events, and would open the tickets up to other fans on days that sell out etc

  15. Thanks, I have McGann high up because of the TV movie and the night of the doctor special, I remember one night when I was younger sitting watching tv and seeing a strange listing in the TV guide that said doctor who the movie on watch (back when W was watch). It was a school night but that didn’t stop me from staying up to watch it because it started slightly late if I remember correctly, through those two performances I felt I knew his doctor better than I know Jodie’s at the moment, and I haven’t listened to the audiobooks, it’s something I may consider in the future because I know they fill gaps in timelines. and Colin and Patrick are down low simply because I don’t feel I’ve watched enough of their doctors to put them any higher, I intend to watch any stories I’ve missed sometime in the future. Also not sure if any of you remember this, but in the UK there was a time a good few years ago now that a channel called Horror started playing classic Who, that’s where I was able to get a hold of most of mine as I didn’t want to have to purchase them outright for a first time watch, but yeh that’s just something random I out in there to see if anyone remembers that.

  17. I might as well join in being a whovian too, Doctor who was actually the first geek based thing that got me into this life, so here is my list 1) Peter Capaldi 2)David Tennant 3)Matt Smith 4)Christopher Eccleston 5)Paul McGann 6)Tom Baker 7)William Hartnell 8)John Hurt 9)Jon Pertwee 10)Sylvester McCoy 11)Peter Davison 12)Patrick Troughton 13)Colin Baker 14)Jodie Whittaker based on the storylines they had and the character performance, and with this show everyone has their doctor and mine is Peter Capaldi, being Scottish myself I am slightly bias but also thought he was just amazing in his time on Doctor Who, also Sorry Jodie, I loved her in broadchurch but I just really didn’t enjoy her first season as the doctor, chibnall has two seasons to make her one of the most loved Doctors ever, because we all know she will no doubt follow the rule of leaving after three seasons. But there’s my list, thanks everyone

  18. Love a good list. Bearing in mind I like all the Doctors just some more than others. 1) Peter Capaldi 2) Tom Baker 3) Colin Baker 4) Sylvester McCoy 5) Christopher Eccleston 6) Peter Davison 7) David Tennant 8) Paul McGann 9) Matt Smith 10) John Hurt 11) Jodie Whittaker I haven't counted the first three as I have not seen their episodes (shocking I know - I will rectify this one day). Matt Smith has climbed one place thanks to your recent reviews Mr Dalek.

  23. My whole schedule will be on paper. Nothing as impressive as having guest photos. But I do like to mark things off as I do them. Good to know where I've been and where I still need to go.

  24. As far as a photo schedule goes, I just write down on a separate piece of paper where and when the shoot is. Nothing too special for that.

  25. That looks like a really good idea. Guess we've all got a system that works for us. What do you do about knowing what time to go for a photo etc? Impressive looking list btw

  32. Dont understand the love for them either, they are just mostly cheap, plasticy, poorly designed looking caricatures. Or maybe I should word it better, they are not my "style" of art at all. I love realistic looking toys more I guess, bobble heads hurt my eyes in general haha I know some are literally addicted to them. People have hundreds, taking over their homes haha No bad thing if you love em I guess :-D but damn they take up a lot of room! We all have addictions. So each to their own, but I couldn't have one in my home, too ugly for me haha

  43. hey everyone, thanks for finally allowing me to join the forum. My name is Cameron and I'm 18 years old, I've just finished my A levels and just waiting on those dreading results to come through haha. This will be my first ever attendance to the London show masters con, but I'm very excited about the line-up already. My main interest is Horror, I'm a absolute horror fanatic and some of your guests this year for horror fans is fantastic, unfortunately I'm on a strict budget as I attended a horror con not so long ago, but I'm attending Sunday for the ever so 'controversial', Deodato which I actually made a joke about when at the horror I attended, that I thought it would be out of this world if someone managed to get him to attend a con and here we are! Now I know he's very controversial and has caused some concerns in this community but as a Horror fanatic this is one for the history books to be able to keep something from this director :) If anyone wants to talk about Horror, I'm your guy. - thanks
