My sister made me a cake for my birthday with a yoda figure made out of sugar paste on top and blue cake inside to tell me she's gonna have a boy. I was already asked to be the godfather but now I know the gender. Couldn't be happier with my birthday gift6 points

Normally we don't post about the mod reactions, but seeing this was on for some hours I owe an explanation I think. Unfortunately I had to talk to that user twice before about similar things (also totally unrelated outbursts), and they never reacted. Either that one has a really odd sense of humor or was trying to troll. Seeing that was the third removed post within the last five now the Expectations now have come to an end. For the record, my only connection to hospitals is that I spent way too much time in them in the last 3 years, and I outgrew Children's Hospitals quite a while ago.4 points

Nightmare in Silver - Wow. I know we disagree sometimes but it's not often we are complete polar opposites. I love this one. Neil Gaiman has written a clever episode. It's not perfect. The majority of the support cast are not well used but I consider this a good thing to focus more on the leads. Smith does an excellent job. He is convincingly different as The Doctor and his cyber version. For me after a slow start the pacing is just right. The Cybermen are actually a threat here (not always the case) although I don't like their ability to upgrade. The humour works well and I don't mind the kids. Would happily watch this again. Overall 8/102 points

That's very interesting. As I mentioned, I really liked the time stream idea, and I liked how Moffat tied that to Clara's arc. Personally I thought it was well done, but I can understand why you think it wasn't. From what I can tell, the impossible girl arc seems to be a very divisive one in the Doctor Who fandom.1 point

And we've been going through this every year, and more than once. The explanation will never change to "oh, Jason was just waiting for the 100th person to ask before announcing Harrison Ford."1 point

Hi Loulou! I remember feeling nervous and excited for my first con, that was only a few years ago too! It's a really unique experience and you'll no doubt be awe of the day when you get to it! A few things I try to remember each year now are to bring a hard folder or one of those little presentation folder things to keep your photos totally safe throughout the day and travelling home, and bring some water and snacks so you're always hydrated and full of energy! Hope your first con goes super awesome :)1 point

Hi there :) if you've bought a photo op, you *will* have a photo with him provided he is there and you are there. A week before the convention a schedule will be released detailing the times and locations for all the photo op sessions and talks etc. There's a lot of folks to have photos taken so they divide it into batches for organisation's sake. People who have bought a diamond pass for a particular guest (a pass that includes s photo, autograph and a talk if they're doing one) get called up first to do their photos, then gold pass holders, and then batch 1, batch 2, batch 3, and so on. You wait in the area until your batch is called and then you join the queue. Photos are rather quick but it's nice to have that little moment with them and it's a great momento to take away with you :)1 point
