  4. Ones that spring to mind are: Benedict Cumberbatch, who from what I saw engaged with everyone as much as he could, asking names and how people's days were etc., top notch experience! Andrew Scott, had the pleasure of getting him to sign a drawing which he loved, and then flicked through my whole sketchbook for 5 minutes! Matt Smith, instantly welcomed me into the photo and complimented my cosplay (even though the green jacket isn't his personal preference)! David Tennant, who even though we were told not to engage in conversation or give handshakes, had conversations and handshakes and complimented gifts and cosplay! Peter Capaldi, welcoming and kind, listened to stories, gave people handshakes and hugs, loved artwork... what more can I say? The cast of Class as mentioned earlier by Sam, once I spent 2 hours just playing card games with them! Pearl Mackie, just so engaging and so bubbly and friendly, took the time to have a chat where possible! Benedict Wong, so down to earth and constantly giving handshakes, I couldn't fault him!

  5. To quickly do the next 2 stories, I agree with you about Spearhead. It has its own special atmosphere too with the entire story being shot on location on film. This meaning it can be the only “true” HD classic Dr Who, and the Blu-Ray looks SO good. Pertwee hits the ground running. I’m not as keen on Silurians. It’s a great idea and it almost works, just doesn’t quite land with me. I disagree in that I find that after a good start it does drag a bit in the middle before getting going again when the virus is released. It is not as noticeable though if you watch it over a week at one episode a night. The pacing works much better like that. The great Fulton MacKay (Who would later be offered the part of the 4th Doctor only to turn it down as he didn’t want to commit to a long contract) is hugely underused. I’d be nearer 7/10.

  6. Agree again. It is simply the greatest Dr Who story ever made IMO. It’s incredible how it doesn’t drag, just astonishing because if you analyse it properly it SHOULD drag. All it really is is The Doctor and companions escaping and getting caught again (like many other multiple part stories) but Hulke and Dicks do it in such a way that you don’t notice. It’s brilliant. Some people try to retcon the War Chief as the Master but not for me. It would have been great to see the character again at some point but I guess there are far too many rogueTime Lords now. I remember my friend and I deciding to watch the first episode one night after coming in late from work. Next thing we knew we’d watched all 10 episodes and it was 3am! Shout out to Troighton junior in his first ever TV role and so many faces that have gone on to great acting careers. Philip Madoc back after only a few weeks after appearing in the Krotons too.

  7. Definitely not for me. Totally agree with your review. It is a great story, better than their original appearance. The novelisation is tremendous too.

  8. The Sons of Anarchy guests are all very great and friendly. Hope to see them again soon. Would say my best experience ever was with Ron Perlman - he kissed me twice (at photo op and at autograph) and with James Caan. Also got a kiss from him, after I told him he was my reason to come from Germany to London. Seems that I am pretty good with older men :) But lucky me I never had a bad experience so far with everyone I met.

  9. Oh wow the atmosphere at his first appearance after so many years must have been amazing! I'm really happy you got to experience that :) Ohhhh oh oh that is so wonderful he said that to you!!! You obviously made a really lovely impression on him for him to say that

  10. Dear James We are sorry that you do not feel that the items which you have been assigned in your package are the same as the package which was advertised, however as you are aware the package description says "Captain or similar" and we believe that the highly regarded guests which have been included in our package suitably reflect this. Kind regards

  14. I didn't, I been very lucky that I was in the Stargate fandom since when it started on TV and have been to many events with the cast. I was very lucky to have been one of the few who managed to get a ticket for his first event and have seen him a few times since then

  16. Fred Haise is the main attraction as far as I’m concerned. I’ve never been lucky enough to hear him speak before, can’t wait for his lecture! It’d be great to see Al Worden or Charlie Duke or maybe Walt Cunningham join the list too! Fingers crossed!

  20. The War Games- This is my all-time favourite Doctor Who story. In my eyes it is faultless. Incredibly, I don't think that this story drags at all, despite its massive running time. The characters are all brilliant and memorable. I love the slow mystery of this story, as the main plot isn't really revealed until around part 3, and even then more mystery is spread throughout the entirety of the story. The performances are all great. The regulars shine, and as it is Troughton's final regular story, he gives a fantastic performance here. The Timelords are great in this story. This is their first appearance, and still their best. They are powerful and imposing, yet mostly calm and quiet. That is what they should be like. Overall 10/10. Overall rating for season 6- 6/10. There are some brilliant stories in this season, but there are also some terrible ones. At least the regulars all give fantastic performances throughout.
