  1. You try getting stubborn people to move away when the only weapon you have is the word "please".

  3. Totally agree. Obviously we don't know how easy or difficult it is to get the big names north of the wall (pardon the GoT pun) and what it costs too, but big names = big crowds pretty much every time. Then everyone wins.

  5. My wish list - unlikely but I like to dream. David Tennant - because I missed him at July LFCC. Peter Capaldi - if you add Pearl Mackie and Matt Lucas I could get a TARDIS group photo plus a DP for Peter. Patrick Stewart - make it so. Chris Hemsworth - what's not to like. Guy Henry - my wierd crush! Catherine Tate - we have the same birthday. Michael Caine - you're only supposed to blow the b***** doors off. Tom Hanks - Hollywood A Lister. If it helps I can wait until next summer Ever hopeful

  10. Very fair description of the first season and even though we tend to disagree I like your arguments for why you have the opinions you do. Makes a lot of difference from some forums where people just bark about how wrong others are when they disagree with them about stories. I too love Reign and I agree 100% about the animation. IMO it's the worst style out of all the animation they did. I wish I had the time to do it but you're making me want to watch these along with you but I can't commit due to work. To get a jump on you I am a MASSIVE fan of DIOE. (apart from the Sky TV dishes on their backs). I am looking forward to your review of it.

  11. The Reign Of Terror- This is more like it. I'm not sure if I could call this underrated, but I love it. The acting, sets, costumes and dialogue are all superb. Sadly the animation isn't that great (but still preferable to stills in my opinion). I don't really have any flaws with it, except that it is just a little over-long. Overall- 9/10. Overall rating for Season 1- 6/10. Where this season shines, it is very good. But unfortunately when it fails it does so hugely. I appreciate that this is when the show was first finding it's feet, and the next season is a definite sign of improvement.

  12. @Nerd Who Finally got around to watching your video, and it was very good. Nicely put together and edited, with a good choice of music as well. I also watched your Peter Capaldi video, and you managed to get some great footage. So overall, good job.

  16. My very belated LFCC 2018 Vlog is finally up Well, it’s not actually a proper “vlog”, it’s basically a video compilation of guests signing at their tables (mostly Doctor Who guests like Tom Baker, David Bradley, Steven Moffat, Noel Clarke, Paul McGann, Peter Davison etc. + Katie Leung, Tom Welling, John Schneider & more). If you miss their lovely faces you might enjoy this

  19. Inferno is great. You can see how much the main actors loved playing their counterparts. I’ve just finished a re-watch of Ark In Space this afternoon. Absolute classic that story. Love the “behind the sofa” feature on the extras. Sort of googlebox like watching Tom, Philip Hinchcliffe and Lis Sladen’s daughter watching the show. Also on another sofa Louise Jamieson, Sarah Sutton and Janet Fielding. It’s hilarious.

  32. Very nice man, Showmasters Events won't be quite the same without seeing Jeremy chatting away, often in front of or at the side of his desk. He's the first and still only guest to have conversed with me in French (I have no idea why and it was a rather one-sided affair!)

  35. I agree. My boyfriend and I have been going to Glasgow for years and SM were doing great job building it up but sadly its slipped the last couple of years. We usually have an early bird ticket but given the first photoshoot between us was 3:55pm, there was no point so we just went for general entry. I completely understand that SM have to make every event as great as possible to make it fair but just worried that is being done at the expense or sacrifice of other shows. Plus dont want to risk losing the only Scottish show. The only plus side of the show being quiet was we got a good look at all the stalls and great merchandise for sale. However, if the stallholders dont make a profit, they wont come back either

  38. I have to admit I was not as excited about this show as in some of the previous years but I was always going to go anyway. I takes me 10 minutes to get to Braehead by car and even if there had not been any guests I would probably still have gone as it such an easy venue for me to get to where I can park for free and do not have to worry about finding a parking space. Because there were only a handful of guests scheduled for the Sunday with no Sunday ‘exclusives’ I was too bothered about I decided to go on the Saturday only. I went for early-bird as I wanted to get my autographs done quickly so I could spend the rest of the day browsing the stalls and attending the panels. I managed to get all my autos by 10am. The first guest I met was Michelle Ryan. Until last week when she was announced I had not even heard of her but I have become a fan When she was announced it mentioned she was in the Bionic Woman. For some reason I did not know there was a remake of this series in 2007 and I was intrigued. I ordered the boxset online and received it on Wednesday meaning I had time to watch a few episodes before meeting her and I really liked it. Michelle signed an 8x10 and the boxset for me and she was pleased to hear people are still discovering this show in 2018. Unfortunately she did not do selfies (although there was no sign) so I booked a photo shoot for the afternoon after all. I also met the two GoT guests I had never met before - Vlad Furdik and James Faulkner - who were both very friendly as well as Bond girls Janine Andrews and Valerie Leon. Janine was only £10 I believe; £5 pound cheaper than advertised which was nice as normally it is the other way around. My meeting with Valerie was soured slightly when at the end of the meeting with Valerie her minder asked me to pay when I had already paid (I always pay before interacting with the guests). The lady admitted her mistake and apologised but you get to feel slightly uncomfortable in front of a guest. I also met Simon Williamson and Colin Hunt for my Star Wars collection, both of them very friendly guys. Both talks I attended (Bond girls and Game of Thrones) were entertaining a slightly longer that the usual panels at the Glasgow show (45 minutes instead of 30) but unfortunately these were the only two I was interested in. Overall it was nice and relaxing show and there were quite a few interesting stalls as well. I picked up a nice Van Damme autograph from an English dealer who has been at about every Glasgow show and always has some interesting stuff at very reasonable prices and a rare Charles Bronson DVD (Rider on the Rain) I had never seen before. The Saturday was not as quiet as I had feared but I did not witness any queues at the entrance throughout the day.

  43. I've just attended my first Comic Con (London 2018) and loved it. Learned a lot about preparedness and next time I'll bring a foldable seat - my feet were killing me 2 days after the event, and I walk 10-15 miles a day in my job so I'm used to walking! Since my list of people who I've met is quite short I'd like to add my suggestions: John Barrowman (Dr. Who, Torchwood, Arrowverse) Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5, Tron, Scarecrow & Mrs. King) Mira Furlan (Babylon 5, Lost) Peter Jurasik (Babylon 5, Tron) Bill Mumy (Babylon 5, Lost in Space) Andrea Thompson (Babylon 5, JAG, NYPD Blue) Walter Koenig (Babylon 5, Star Trek) Barbara Bain (Mission Impossible, Space 1999) Katey Sagal (Married With Children, Futurama, Sons of Anarchy) Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver, Stargate SG1) Christopher Judge (Stargate SG1) Amanda Tapping (Stargate, Sanctuary, Supernatural) Kevin Sorbo (Hercules, Andromeda) Lucy Lawless (Xena, Spartacus) Bruce Campbell (Hercules, Xena, Evil Dead) Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, Rogue One) Karl Urban (Star Trek, Judge Dredd, Lord of the Rings) Westworld TV series Who know, I might see some of them :)
