i agree with this 100% , i have been to lots of conventions and this has been the least fun so far, the guest's were brilliant. friday nights cocktail party we didnt meet all the guests ,packed in a small room , standing for over an hour. there should have been tables and the guests could then go from table to table as some people get very funny with you if you just butt in while they are chatting, but from my point of view it was the only way to get to talk to them. that was the main reason i paid for the gold pass , wish i hadnt bothered now. why do we have to leave the talk to go and have the pictures taken? i left the talk to get my photos and 10 minutes after the talk ended, why not wait untill talks are over? there was a lot of times when we were not doing anything so why did we have to leave the talk? speaking of wasted time, when there is nothing to do . why not put episodes of stargate or anything with an actor in from stargate (im sure theres quite a few people who would never have heard of them let alone seen them) or do a quiz maybe not for prizes but just for fun and something to do. could even make one up eg: stargate sceneit. show clips of then "what happened next?" "whats the next line?" "how did they escape?" etc etc u get the idea friday nights party was good DJ played con dances frequently. saturday's party started ok untill a few people took over the dance floor and DJ asking him to play all this heavy metal kinda music, and not every one wants to hear that. odd few song can cope with but not as many that were played, the songs that they picked werent even from the 60's!!! so every body walked out and sat outside , so much for a disco. so im guessing because of that sunday night's disco no one went , some people i meet at the convention had booked hotel for the whole weekend but they went home on sunday. i think this event could be really good but it needs much better planning/organising.
