thoughts, complaints and feelings about LFCC 2015
laurana replied to londonboy891's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2015
To be honest, most of the complaints listed here are actually not SMs fault - If you know you are going to be busy running around, get a gold pass, makes a lot of things much easier - and yes, the VQ ticket number after 10 am are usually high, this is why your most important guest should be your first stop - for Christopher Lloyd and other Diamond pass guests it was said from the beginning that getting an autograph without the pass was a big IF. The event was not oversold compared to last year, but it might be beneficial in the future to have entry and exit for the superstage to be on different sides, this was the major crunch point. It might also help to have the photo shoots in one separate area, with smaller areas where the different batches could accumulate ( to be out of the way), just an idea. It was quite tough to get through the crowd, but I had three parallel shoots as well, and if you talk to the crew and show them your tickets and the timetable, they let you go in with the gold guys to avoid having people getting upset. They always have done this and it was the same this year. Indeed, there are things to be optimised, and I am sure that they will get to it. Deep breath and better organisation on both sides, how about that? -
I have to admit, I was at both ends of the spectrum: I started off helping the older lady with all her things in the queue, inquired how to get to the actual con (gold queue people were confused on friday, no signs to tell us: get one floor up and then down on the other side) and had a bunch follow me, helped a LOT of germans find their way around to photo shoots and autograph areas, explaining them the VQ system - and then i ran into a swiss guy who had trouble understanding a pit boss at the photo shoo ticket sales area. I jumped in and after inquiring if he understood german I tried to explain to him what she was talking about, just to be the recipient of a very rude and pissed off behaviour where I first just gaped at him and then decided to turn away and let him go under, his attitude was just revolting. I did say thanks a couple of times, I did say sorry a LOT of times (mainly because I had to squeeze through crowds on sunday morning having three parallel photoshoots on two levels - mayhem) and I seem to remember that I accidently ran into a bodyguard (luckily he was not with a guest and hence did not have the ure to shoot me or something ) Good times, but yeah, manners flew out the window on occation

Hi, just wondering: I have a gold pass, which usually means that we can get into paid talks for free. So my logic goes like that: If there are tickets available to purchase for the talk without holding the diamond pass for that person, does that mean that a gold pass holder can get in for free? Or do I have to buy a ticket for the talk on top of my gold pass?

Someone I always wanted to meet but is a definite impossibility: Christopher Ecclestone - I'd drop dead with the biggest smile ever on my face if he was coming :)))

Something big is coming to LFCC Summer 2015

All the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. :))) + the bus, that's definitely big :) If not, can we please, please, PLEEEAAASEEEEE have at least Clark Gregg??????? -
Yup, got the money and yup, really. You might not be interested without guests announced and only be interested in a few guests and not being interested in 10 pound Classic Who and GoT guests, but I surely am. So yes, We've bought our gold passes yesterday. We are certain we want to go, those golds are limited, so why not buy them now? Why wait for more guests to be announced and run the risk the golds sell out? I bought them now because without that gold ticket I would have missed out on half of the things I wanted to do this year. I am enough of a geek to have fun with whatever guests will be there and at the same time I am already saving on all talks (paid) and get nice seats at them as well. Another big point is that you do not have to queue for hours and can fit in more. Does not sound like much, but saves hours and hours in total, so more fun :) only queue I wish the gold ticket would give ma an advantage, too, is the food queue, but hey, who knows :) might be coming, soon, too. Gold is worth every pence, even if you cannot see it now, you might slap your forehead when you want to buy one and then they are gone...

Yay, bought my Gold Ticekt *excited!!!!!* Question: what always bothers me during the process of buying tickets - for every new interesting guest I want to have a picture with and purchase a photo session, I have to pay for delivery again. Now I realise that you cannot announce all guests at the same time, but would it be possible, from the fact that we have to register and log in anyway to make the purchase, to have different orders from the same buyer pooled and sent out as one? last year i spent an extra 5£ just for last minute announcements...

Hey Jason, first of all: it was a great, great show! I had a fab time and my two "comrades" as well. I had a gold ticket which made it possible for me to get everything I wanted out of this weekend, and my friend with the early bird entry ticket on saturday stated queueing at 8 and was inside by 9.30, so no complaints here. Yes, it was very crowded, but it did not feel worse than last year. Yes, you had some bumps along the way, but you guys did an amazing job, seriously! You helped wherever needed. We had some minor problems on Friday getting our gold passes (wrong list, or something like that). At one point on saturday I got a pit boss for a girl sitting next to a guest (I did crew for you last year and she looked quite stressed so I offered my help), so it might be helpful (as you already mentioned s well) to get more helping hands in, even if they "only" play runner between people, it might be beneficial (at least for saturday - whenever you need me ... :) ). The A-lister combo (photo, autograph, talk) sounds like a good idea, I had a very upset german in front of me who understood the virtual ticket system too late and couldn't meet Bernard Cribbins. One minus point you might want to change for next year: I am very fluent in english, but I had major problem understanding anything coming through the speakers on the super-stage, the accoustics in that hall are not made for something like that, Could help to set this stage up on EC2 and put something else there that doesn't need speakers - photoshoots perhaps? In any case the running between the halls on saturday was risky and after I nearly missed a shoot I decided not to go back into 1, although my friend texted me that I won an autograph with Moffat. It was either getting to the autograph or a photo shoot ... Photoshoot won. Having said this, there is always something to complain about (dirty cars apperently included) - I loved the event, and will be back next year, come what may! (So say we all!) :)

If you scroll down a little you'll find a whole section of the forum devoted to crewing. The main info is in this pinned topic: http://showmasterson...showtopic=25858 Great, I get to work on my mail right away, thanks!

Perfect place to ask where we can apply as volunteers for the shows - any ideas?

Close, it was "While you were sleeping" (and yes, I am sure that about a hundred other people must have told you already ) He would be such a cool guest!!!

I said it before and I repeat it again and again until every single moaner out there did get the message: Thank you for the organisation, it was a blast to be there for three days - it was well done. From my experience there is no such thing as the perfect convention, there will always be things going wrong, and you guys handled it well! I loved the fact that there were so many food and drink places inside the venue - past experiences at other conventions meant that I had to leave the venue and get into a totally overcrowded diner to wait for hours - and missing out on the fun at the convention. Many people did not go through this and fainted of exhaustion in the end. Furthermore, you guys do realize that there is room for improvement and that is all we are asking for. With you trying to keep the pieces together and us fans going crazy - that is all we need :)

Wow, I guess you got some quizzical looks, sounds fun! How was Gillian Anderson? I found Jeri Ryan and Jewel Staite to be a bit unfriendly towards women, but maybe that was just my oversensitive me :)

that's phantastic! Wihs I could've made it to his talk, but we had to catch our flight haha, would have loved to hear his Aleksandr!!!
