smm1
Does anyone know of a good/non damaging way to remove fingerprints from photos ? Maybe a reprint facility could be considered for print outs for a fee with a Limited time period enforced for ordering ...
jael001
I've always just used a soft cloth, the kind I clean my glasses with.
CosmicAvatar
What jael001 said. (I haven't had to do it for a while, but if I had stubborn prints, I tried breathing lightly on them before giving the photo a gentle rub - worked fine for me). sdad
Given that the last stage in paper-processing before drying is a wash, you could try that. Add a little washing-up liquid to the water to disperse surface tension and do not leave the print in long enough to soften the emulsion. The resin coating will probably allow all-over drying without streaking. Use pre-dampened clean fingers as squeegees. It does depend on what was on the fingers in the first place and whether it has already eaten into the surface of the paper. I suppose there is more to it than what I have said, so it is probably also NOT best undertaken by someone who has never handled material in a darkroom situation!
