Hi,

So me and my other half have just discovered this convention (after stupidly thinking conventions were an American thing), thrown all caution to the wind and will be buying some tickets next week. We are really excited but have a few questions about the convention. Would you mind humoring me and answering some of these?

1.  We have decided to go for the gold tickets. this entitles us to six random autographs. Now I assume we don't get any choice in who we get (no doubt we will get lumbered with people from Enterprise ) but as we will both have a ticket could we wing it so we get 12 different people? Also are the autographs just on bits of paper or are they signed photos?

2. What is a "Rare exclusive signed card"? Now I would love a pokemon card signed by Patrick Stewart but I expect I have got the wrong end of the stick here...

3. I know you can't give me any exact numbers but anyone care to speculate how many more guests will be announced?

4. I have been to music festivals in the past and have to pay 3 quid for a bottle of water and a tenner for a burger. Should I expect the same sort of outrageous prices here?

5. I know nothing has been announced but could you give me an idea of what free things go on during the day (use previous years as an example). I know there will be more talks but anything else going on?

6. Pictures with the cast. Will they be in costume? I know some of the klingons will be in make up etc but will John De Lance be in Star Fleet uniform for example?

7. On the homepage when you scroll down it says Rene Auberjonios and Nana Visitor are coming but I can't find any other reference to them on the site. Is this an accident or have I just leaked two new guests?

8. Bridge photo shoot. Is this just one picture or a few? Are the pictures sent to you at a later date? Would me and my other half be able to get a picture of us both together on the bridge?

9. We will be getting a train up (Hastings). How close is the event to the station? Will I have to get a taxi?

10. The parties (Klingon and TNG). Could you give me a little more info about these? What I can gather is that the Klingon party has live music. What kind of music? Is it star trek themed music? Is this essentially a nightclub for Klingons? Cos' that is bloody awesome. The TNG party. Is this a sit down event where you watch a show?

11. What kind of things can I expect to get in the goody bag? Cake and a hat?

12. Expected attendance?

13. Priority seating and queuing. Is this essentially a fast pass system? Will we have some sort of pass that we wear around our necks?

Thanks very much and can't wait for the show. :borg:

They are signed photos.

It will be Star Trek related.

Question 3 - no idea

Question 4 - if you buy at the venue, probably yes. This is out of the hands of the organisers though.

Question 5 - free things will be announced nearer the time.

Question 6 - all costumed photo shoots will be announced. If a photo shoot is not shown as being a costume one, the guest will be wearing their normal clothing.

7. On the homepage when you scroll down it says Rene Auberjonios and Nana Visitor are coming but I can't find any other reference to them on the site. Is this an accident or have I just leaked two new guests?

They have been announced, the website just hasn't been updated yet. Sometimes it can take a little while.

8. Bridge photo shoot. Is this just one picture or a few? Are the pictures sent to you at a later date? Would me and my other half be able to get a picture of us both together on the bridge?

Details will be released nearer the time when they have been finalised.

They will both be like regular parties with music, drink and some people in costume.

Last three questions are really for the organisers to answer.

Normally with the london film and comic con you have a pass for around your neck or a wristband.
As for seating the rows are normally marked off for each ticket type.
And for autographs ect you will have a specific time to be called up at for each pass.
From what i gather.

I will say though, this is a new event and a first in Europe, so there is no precedent.

The organisers will announce information as it is available.  Keep an eye on the website as that will be the most up to date,, and also sign up for email updates to ensure you get the information first.

Is this really the first time? I assumed this was a yearly thing.

They are signed photos.
Is that definite? I know that this post basically confirmed that an autograph ticket was the right to receive an autograph, but that 10 x 8s were extra, and also confirmed that there would be free 10 x 8s in VIP bags, but not necessarily for gold and platinum? Or have I missed a subsequent development.

There are pleanty of places outside that are more reasonably priced. Actually I didn't find the venue pricing that bad - certainly not festival-bad!

My understanding was that there wouldn't be free 10x8s supplied by the organisers at the signing tables like other SM events but photos would be available for purchase at the event. That said I also understand there will be some sort of 16x12 image included with the gold pass ticket which presumably could be signed at no extra cost or if people wanted to bring items they already owned such as DVDs, books etc
then these would also not incur any extra costs.

OK, hadn't looked at the ticket info and wasn't clear what was being asked. As they're not pre-signed (which is what I thought was meant by the person asking the question), you can get the autographs on a 10x8 that you can buy at the event or another item of your choice.

To answer your first question, yes you can bring your own pen for the guests to use for signing.
To answer your second question, it will vary from guest to guest. Some will be allowing photos, others won't. There's really telling who will and who won't though until the event itself.

As said it really is a wait till the day thing. At LFCC you had guests who had no posed photo signs up, some with no photo signs, some happy to pose and some you could only take pics from a certain distance

The autograph prices can be found here: http://www.startrekl...s/15-autographs

There will be photos available for you to get signed but we haven't been told how much these will cost yet (unless I've missed it).

Care to take a guess? How much do they charge normally?

Hard to guess, traditionally they've been free.
