Even though each photographer has their preferences I do think each are should have the same background for consistency if nothing else.

...but then you won't be able to pick them out them on the table! lol

At least there is a background, I was at another event a few weeks ago and the pics were taken against a yukky cream/grey hotel hall wall, they look so cold and clinical, I quite like the backgrounds although another colour scheme may be nicer!!!!

Oh thank god someone else said it, I HATE those solid blue backgrounds...you either come out under-exposed or over-exposed.

I don't mind the other two backgrounds, the blue/grey-ish ones, they remind me of the sky and tend to look much better on the photos but yeah the solid blue ones need to go, and fast.

Completely agree, and I felt the same last year - my pics from D came back overexposed and anything taken at C tended to have a blue hue to it. As a fairly light-skinned person I really don't like almost looking like a smurf in my professionally taken photos :( All pics taken at A and B came out perfectly.

Ha funnily enough I MUCH prefer the plain blue ones! But that might be because the one's used in A were the same as ones used in my highschool photos haha, I also tend to look a nicer in the blue background one's for some reason

The blue ones can look rather harsh sometimes, but the mixed colour ones can cost a fortune (im talking £150+ just for a bit of cloth!), and then time that 2-3 times..

Dunno about you but if I was a pro photographer I wouldn't consider that all that bad for the size if it was the right thing to use and get the job done. After all, it should last a very long time.

I really like the tie-dye type one Malcolm uses (area A for those who don't know the name). He's been using it for a long time and it gives a nice interesting but neutral tone to the shoot. Best for good skin tones etc. I dunno, just seems the most flattering to me.

Have been to another event which used red or darkish brown which was absolutely awful (not helped as I wore my dark red shirt which just blends in) and the solid dark blue is just horrible. Never seems to give a good balanced result.

I also prefer the mottled background used in photo area A this weekend.

I didn't like the plain blue used here and in Milton Keynes.

It might seem strange, but I think it's easier to clash what you're wearing with a plain block coloured background!

With the mottled background anything seems to 'go' ok.

Would it be possible to have backgrounds that have 'London Film and Comic Con' on them? In the same vein as this one.

I for one would stop having photoshoots if this were to happen i hate when there is text on the background or better still printed on the final 10x8 as per another event though they have stopped that now i just think it detracts from what the image is about you and the guest.

Dunno if I'd stop completely but it would be a horrible thing to do. Don't anyone even think out it. Would look terrible.

I agree - there definitely shouldn't be any text on the background or any sort of text border...

The background used in Photo Area A was fine, really happy with how my photo with Gillian Anderson came out. Photos have been a bit hit and miss in the past, in terms of contrast or colour tone but in the past year or two any problems/discrepancies have been fairly minor. But then I saw some of the photos this year... I agree about the photos in areas C & D - compared to the Area A prints a lot looked very unprofessional, I can definitely understand people's disappointment - I would have been gutted. I was very suprised when trying to help a friend find one of her photos - a lot of pics were overexposed, too much "sky", inappropriate background, even slightly out of focus, weird colour balance...

(Edited for my rubbish spelling - been a long day!)
