Pretty disappointing to see how many paid talks there are... I don't want to jump the gun and start criticising too much, as the free talks haven't been  announced yet, but there do seem to be  a lot of paid talks and I can't see the free talks matching this number. I don't see what was wrong in the previous years with only charging for high profile guests? I suppose I don't know the inner workings of showmasters finances though so I can't be too judgemental. I will say that I would hope we get interviewers for the paid talks, instead of just the standard QandA.
Met and got Auto:Gary Kurtz,David Prowse, Mela Lee,Corey Feldman, James Earl Jones (Driving Miss Daisy) ,Jorge Garcia,Jeff Cohen,Jacob Kogan
Photoshoot: Karen Gillan

I LOVE Firefly/Star Wars/Buffy/Doctor Who/Lost/Walking Dead/The list goes on... :)

With so many paid for talks, I think it is vital that a photoshoot schedule and talk schedule go up as soon as possible so we can see what talks we can and can't do. I'm hesitant to pay out for a talk without knowing the schedule because I'm afraid it'll clash with a photoshoot or 2.

It won't be long, but I would imagine the online shop might close before it is posted.

However, the talk tickets will still be available at the show, so you can decide whether you have time etc before purchasing

Can I suggest that on the day the talk tickets be sold at the talk ticket desk, as anyone who has queued for photoshoot tickets on the day knows how slowly that line moves.

It will always be busy first thing in the morning, but you would also still be able to buy them on the preview evening Friday if you are coming along to that.

As to changing where tickets are purchased, that would be up to the organisers and Too Tall, I can't comment on that I am afraid, but they will see your post.

A bit worried that the Thomas talk may sell out. I am travelling a long way to come on Saturday only and won't arrive until afternoon. Am worried if I buy tickets the talk may turn out to be morning, but that if I don't book I'll miss out. :/

I think it's unlikely many of the talks will entirely sell out.

The schedule will go up before the show so you will know then when the talk will be.

They can be through the day though I am afraid, so it would be better to wait either until the schedule is available (if the online shop is still open) or until you get to the show so that if you travelling makes you too late, you haven't wasted your money

I don't believe any talks sold out at CM18 so you should be fine

Alright, hopefully it doesn't sell out but there are a lot of Thomas fans! I'm coming purely for Thomas and run a fan site so I'm pretty set on seeing the talk if I can LOL! Thanks.

So basically every single talk I wanted to see is now paid. Brilliant. Add in potential clashes with shoots and denting the auto time... looks like talks for me (apart from Gillian as I already have my ticket) are out. I'm not paying to get in and getting nothing for my ticket. I know the ticket cost covers the venue but still there will be thousands of people attending to cover this cost. Previous I have seen Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk do free talks so why is Adam and Jewel suddenly paid for? A talk ticket is now also the same cost as a photoshoot or autograph. How is this good value for money? In my opinion it isn't and therefore will not be paying it. Add to all this people will have to buy talk tickets now to get good seats as they will be sat in number order I would presume but there are no schedules up yet for the photoshoots etc so people may end up with multiple clashes trying to do everything. Imagine the amount of refunds that will have to go out to people that have shoots and talks at the same time and can only do one or the other...

I'm on a trek to: DSTL

Been there, done that:

MK: C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C10, C11, C12, C13, C14, C15, C16, C17, C18

LFCC: March '04, Nov '04, '05, '06, '07, '10, '11 '12

G-Mex '08

Collectormania: London '09, '10, '11

I won't be ordering any talk tickets. I might attend some free ones if they are worth it and fit in but i am not paying for some and find they clash - i had enough issues last year trying to swap a photo shoot ticket that clashed.

So, since everybody is spamming this whole topic about the paid talks i too would like to say something,

so.. more talks aren't free anymore. Showmasters shall have good reasons for that, is there really a point of sending so many posts in this topic and complaining?
I can understand if you wanted to join a couple of talks and now you've found out they aren't free anymore you won't like it, but hey, that's life and
if you really really want to be at a paid talk, you'll pay :)

Awesome talks, seriously annoyed and disappointed at the number of talks you have to pay for though!

You put the Trek talk on so only early birds could see it last year, and now I've forked out the extra cash fro an early bird ticket so I can go, you're charging me to see it this year?!
Has it not ocurred to Showmasters that money is tight for people? I'd also love to go to the GoT and Firefly/Serenity talks, but nope. You're charging for those too.

xxc: if you really really want to be at a paid talk, you'll pay :)  <-- If i had the money, I would. I don't have the money, and have now been ripped off two years in a row. Hence the complaints.

I'm going to be honest some of those paid for talks I would have expected to be free.

Same here. It would have been cool to listen to Mitch, Nicholas and Zach and ask them questions.

Already not meeting a load of people because of money issues. Kudos to Showmasters for getting so many great guests that I could never afford to see all the ones I'd like to, but charging for the talks as well is a bit much. I'm now not meeting a few I could have met, and I'm not going to talks either.

They may not be priorities, but I would imagine the reason people are annoyed(as I am) is because things like this in the past were all part of the experience of the event, and for the most part, included in the entrance fee that we could enjoy. To now be told we have to pay extra to see things we normally expected to see for free is slightly annoying. The end result is basically going to be that the talks will be a lot emptier I imagine, and us fans will have other things to spend our money on, because as you say, talks are not highest on the priority list for people(myself anyway) although I have enjoyed them if I get a free moment to pop along to one

Most wanted guests:

Mr. T - Matt Smith - Ian McDiarmid - Ian Holm - Sean Bean - Peter Cullen - Frank Welker - David McCallum - Joanna Lumley - Christopher Lee - Ian McKellen - Jodelle Ferland(for a SIGNING event)

R.I.P Nicholas Courtney - The kindest man I ever had the pleasure to meet
