Please vote given every option which option would you have purchased? Assume that a photo shoot ticket purchase entitles you to either Digital or Printed copy (I know this is not ideal as personally I would love to have both given the option, but if given the option of either, I would choose Digital).

Meh. I dont NEED super-HQ digital versions. I just thow up my stuff on FB for peeps to see, but I mainly get shoots to frame or make copies of and give to relatives as they are the only decent and recent pics I get of myself anymore. And lots of people get them signed and show them to the guests.

After school pictures you sort of dont do them anymore lol This provides grandparents with something to show and me with a nice collection in a nice folder :)

I'm the same with films. I'd always rather buy a DVD/Blu-Ray than download something off itunes or whatever.

I'm a physical guy

While there are a few I'd maybe have considered getting a digital copy of, I'll always want the printed one. I don't look at photos on my computer nearly as much as ones I have prints of...

And the only reason I scan my photos is to stick them up on my LJ and have a backup in case something happens to the print - my scanner can get a decent enough quality and resolution that I could get a reprint at the size of the original print.

It would be cool to have both, but between the two I'd rather have printed.

Hi-Res digital for me. I'm already slightly nervous about transporting this £30 piece of paper back home on the train without scuffing/warping/bending/spilling milkshake all over it! :-P

Paper? It is on glossy photo-paper dont worry lol

And the same way you would your autographs? Acid-free plastic wallets you get from stationary shops or a nice big plastic folder for them all?

This is what I keep and transport all my stuff in at a con. Stiff enough to not let the stuff get bent and closed enough for nothing to ruin them accidentally:

And then these for afterwards at home:

Cheap investments that everyone should get for any con really :)

Yeah most stationary places do them pretty cheap. Make sure you find a slightly stiff one so that even in a bag with other things your stuff wont bend :)

I use a Tuff Box for my photos at events, they're hard and the images in them can't be bent so they're completely safe in there. I even have deep ones that I store my photoshoots in afterwards. They look like this:

A nice printed copy will do fine thanks, the few I get will be kept until I'm gone. I'll just get my mum to scan them at work so that I can post them online, as I don't have a printer. I'm not too bothered about losing quality, I did something similar from a different trip out the other week and it looks fine.

Digital, all the way. I can print out my own copy if I want to put it up on the wall to look at--that way is much easier than the other way around.

Printed.

It would be quicker to receive and scan (and upload) then to wait, and wait, and wait for the digital image to come through.

Previous experience: Nicole Scherzinger (Men In Black 3, American X-Factor, spam Cat Dolls), photo session started at 19:30.  Session ended 20:30.  Concert started 21:15.  Concert finished 22:45.  Photos received..the next day 10:00am.

Digital is a silly idea IMHO.

Agree with NPS.

Also, your PC crashes, hard drive fails etc. Digital image gone! Get a strong enough folder to transport your photos in a you'll be fine! Get a decent scanner and you can scan it yourself.

I been thinking about my Michelle Forbes photoshoot I had done a couple of MKs back and don't actually think I remembered to pick it up, if I had it would be with my other shoots from the show which I have. If I had a digital version not having the photo would not bother me so much but now it seems I've basically paid £20 for nothing as I don't have it. Does anyone know what I could do to get a copy of my photo?

I'm on a trek to: DSTL

Been there, done that:

MK: C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C10, C11, C12, C13, C14, C15, C16, C17, C18

LFCC: March '04, Nov '04, '05, '06, '07, '10, '11 '12

Collectormania: London '09, '10, '11

If you have both, whats the urgency for the digital copy?

Its in the advantage of the organiser to get it to you quickly - on a three day event a same day return might let you post it online Friday, and tempt others to get one too on by the Sunday.

But you still might recieve  yout digital backup before you had a chance to scan it yourself at work.

If your PC crashes it would still be on online servers. Far easier to retrive than if your house burns down, someone runs off with your folder etc. Photo gone! Get yourself several backups, get more copies printed if you wish, and your'll be fine.

Digital copy gone! I'll get another. Photo gone! Bugger.

Surely its more silly an idea having a digital image (its taken with a digital camera after all), converting to a hard print, then making a new digital image from that.
