Well-intentioned words of advice... unless the poster is clearly violating the rules of the forum or a post was very obviously mis-posted, "cleaning up" a thread is frowned upon and leads to all sorts of accusations and condemnation. I would strongly urge caution on this going foward.

I agree, it does smack slightly of this 'sweeping under the rug' that was mentioned earlier. At least things have been clarified now, I guess.

Guys we are not  'sweeping under the rug' as you put it ,  can i point out something ? you are here on our forum talking about this we are giving you this platform so you are able to talk, if we wanted to try and getaway with something underhand do you think we would have a forum ?, if we did not want to talk about it we could just not have a forum,??

Over the next few weeks we have around 10,000 fans all coming on here to understand whats going on this will be there place they will look to and there has to be our message going out, and it has to say what we say is happening , we cannot have everyone saying what they think is happening.

Everyone is allowed their views and they can air them on here and we are happy to talk to you and everyone else about there thoughts, but once something is put to bed there is no point leaving some posts up as all it dose is create more posts about the same thing and then we are spending more time explaining what is really happening rather than getting on running the event itself .

so lest get away from the conspiracy theories :D, if you like the X Files then you are going to the wrong show you should go to LFCC and meet Gillian Anderson , The truth is there  ;) but lets get all this back on track and lets work together to make the event work for everyone , we know we cannot please everyone and there will most likely be around 10,000 of you but we are going to have a good go at pleasing you all  B)

thanks

HI Jason

Can I make a wee suggestion.

Can we have a note or a FAQ which we, joe public are NOT allowed to answer or add to and have it pinned up at the top of the forum. Only SM would be able to edit and add to.

In this note, all current information would be posted.  This might seem a duplication of some posts here but it will allow us to go to one central place and find the information we require WITHOUT digging through hundreds of theories nd answers.  It would be a one stop place to look BEFORE we ask for information and help from yourselves. This way, we would all be reading from the same page (I hate that phrase) and it would have been checked and re-cheked and made unambigious before it was posted.

The important bit here - dont allow discussions on that particular thread.

Just a suggestion.

i think we will not have to much of an issue as things move alone right now people are new and have lots of things they want to know , and as they are now to it all there is going to be a lot of this before things settle down , we have seen it many many times before with new events so its cool and as long as we are here to help and stay on top of it it will work its self out .

we have a FAQ and as time gos on this will fill up and become full of relevant info , the posts at the top will be amended from time to time as more is understood on how things are going to run , i think this will work fine but thank you for your input and help , it all makes for a better event in the long run .

1) We have not said at any time that the autos come with a free photo.

2) No one is making anyone buy these photographs.

3) I would like to point out that we have not changed any part of the ticket deals in any way.

1: You didin't say that they wouldnt either!!  Given that in order to provide a signature that I have PAID FOR in buying a gold ticket, they would have to sign something....therfore, it is not your responsibility to confirm that the autographs DO come with an photograph, it is your responsibility to confirm AT THE POINT OF SALE THAT THEY DONT!

2: So what exactly am I supposed to get signed?  Another picture? an item in my collection i have already purchased? either something i have already paid for, or I have to buy ANOTHER picture from you on the day AFTER your Gold Ticket details stated they INCLUDED a signature....

3:  I disagree, you have neglected to properly inform people (AGAIN) that the ticket that is being purchased does not offer what you think...

I am seriously concered about what else I am going to have to pay for going forward or find out that a gold ticket does not give me what i thought.  To ease the concern of a lot of Gold members (of which I am raising these comments)

Please clarify:

1:   that priority queuing is available on all talks, events, signatures, photos, stunt show and any other activities that you will be holding.  If not which activities DOES it apply for? (ie the 6 in person autographs)

2: There will be no further purchases needed to get to watch the stunt show that is "Included" within the gold ticket price

3: There will be no further purchases need to get a Bridge Photoshoot Picture (for example that having the picture TAKEN is free but if you want to own it then you have to pay more for it.)

4: That the ticket to the party will not incure further charges to attend the party. (For example) that the DJ is in another room and if i wanna listen to music then i have to pay for it.

The issue here is one of clarity.  This is the 3rd thing that has needed to be clarified about the gold tickets and its just not acceptable that you are constanly adding caveats with every piece of information that is released. How are people supposed to budget when they have limited time to purchase the things they want, only to find out later they have to pay more out for something they though was already paid for in their gold ticket.

I've been going to these types of events for nearly 10 years and it is customary for people to bring their own personal items to get signed, in fact I can't remember the last time I had a photo signed, I usually get dvds/books/posters/magazines/memorabilia or a blank autograph books signed. I'm not sure why people think they should be GIVEN something for free to get signed, especially since it was never said that they would be given it. If you're a fan of the shows I would assume you have things already you can get signed anyway. You're getting your autograph free, you can get that autograph on anything you choose, it's up to you if you choose to get it on a photo, you'll just have to source that photo yourself or buy one on the day.

Im not geting it for free, I paid for it in when I purchased a gold ticket.  And I should be able to CHOOSE whether to get something of mine signed or go with what is given as part of the package deal i purchased with a gold ticket

Oh tish and pish!
You were assuming that the autograph came with a photo. Nowehere did they say it did. They are not required to say it does not, because it's not a so overwhelmingly predominant industry practice that it woulkd be expected at all times. (And I've no doubt a High Court judge would probably say "surely you would want them to sign it in your own autograph book?"   ) If you're going to demand that they state the autograph doesn't come with a photo, then frankly you get in to an endless list. If they say that you are buying an autograph but that price does not include a photograph for said autograph to be placed on, then it'll be "well they didn't say it wouldn't be on a nice branded Destination Star Trek London index card, so i expect that to be included."
So, "price includes an autograph; a photo will not be provided, nor will an index card (show-branded or otherwise). Nor will a replica page of a Star Trek script. Nor a DVD cover. Nor an old Shatner album cover, or Stewart RSC programme." etc etc.
When I go into HMV and buy a DVD, it's not much use without a DVD player, but I don'r expect them to plaster every DVD case with "DVD player not included. Nor a computer with a DVD drive. Nor a blu ray player..."

I'll bite. Where did/does it say that photos will be supplied to get the autographs on with the gold ticket? Never saw it when I bought mine.

Yes at normal SM events they supply free 10x8 images but they're under no obligation to do so and many people bring their own items/photos etc. I often bring my own to make sure I get an image i like. Sometimes I don't.

I did initially think it would be the same here but this isn't a normal SM event, there are other people involved and so what they usually do has changed. Simple. For whatever reason they're having to charge for photos at this event but nothing else was ever suggested or promised unless I missed something. But honestly, is it really that big a deal? The main appeal of the gold ticket is priority seating and guaranteed queue time for the captains autographs and some freebie items. Anything else is a bonus.

Hi Guys,
I just have a quick question regarding the 'In-person Autographs.
As we all know, they are an autograph randomly selected by the organisers, to collect in person, for one of the guests at the event – will not include William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula.

So when will we be told who our autographs are? Now that we MAY have a source our own photo/item/collectable. (I know there will be an option to buy your photos, But so far, costs are mounting, and I need to plan ahead)

You will be told in advance. The exact timeframe hasn't been determined as far as I know. But I'll see if we can get an estimate.

What is it with:

*Pre-Signed Autographs will be randomly selected from guests attending, but will NOT include William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula.

** An 'In-Person' Autograph will be an autograph randomly selected by us, to collect in person, for one of the guests at the event – will not include William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew or Scott Bakula.
