The main difference, as I see it, between the Gold and Platinum packages is getting in person autographs with the five captains. What exactly, does that entail?  Do we get photos with each actor, too?

Also, if I get a platinum pass for me and a gold pass for my husband, will we still be able to sit together?

Are the platinum seats for shows on stage?

I'm just trying to figure out the 600 quid difference in price between gold and platinum, since autographs will only run about 20-30 each.....

Hoping this will be our 15th anniversary celebration, but I need more information.

(And seriously, get Benedict Cumerbatch and Chris Pine ----- please!!!!!!)

I can answer a few things, but the FAQ thread and the event info firts page can answer most :)

The 5 Captains autographs with the platinum means you'll get an autograph from each Captain GARUNTEED. The other passes dont proved this in such a full way.

This will not include a photoshoot with each though, those will be available seperatley.

Yes the seats are for the stage shows/talks. Each talk (whether there is just one big room or a few) will have its seating divided into VIP, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Standard. The more you pay, the closer you are.

If you go for different ticket types for two of you, you will be able to sit together, but it will mean you not sitting in the platinums but sitting with the golds with your husband. He cnat move up I'm afraid.

The difference in price is that mainly, you WILL get all 5 Captains. No risk, no fuss. You'll be able to wander up with the other platinums and get all 5 of the biggest guests at the event hassel-free :)

The other benefits are the better seating, better queuing than the golds (each pass gets you better than the last), better goodie bag contents, rarer prints and cards.

It's all up to you if you think it's worth what YOU want out of the con  ;)

Actually I meant were the tickets for seating on the stage with the guests?

Also, the two in person autographs--are those randomly assigned for platinum pass holders as well as gold?

I have to say, the "fine print" on the website is EXTREMELY misleading. While one type of autograph  specifically states states it is randomly selected, the more expensive options do not. A reasonable person would infer that vouchers that can be exchanged are not vouchers assigned randomly. This is very highly deceptive and outrageous when you consider the markup over the VQ prices being thrown around on this forum.

I'm not sure if I am understanding your first question right.

Platinum and Gold both get you into the talk with all 5 Captains and into the 5 separate captain's talks (each Captain solo). There will be other free stage talks where everyone can attend. Gold and Platinum get entry to that as well. You will be sitting in front of the stage in a designated area. The only ones sitting on stage are the guests.

We are trying to get clarification on the in person autograph questions from the office. I'm sorry I can't answer your second question at the moment. Please bear with us for a little.

But what I can add is that if you need a VQ ticket you will have to pay for the autograph. The vouchers mentioned already cover the cost of the actual autograph.

So by definition, the Gold Pass people dont have to pay for their autographs for the 5 Captains then as per info for the Priority Scheduled Queuing for the Gold Tickets which DONT need a VQ ticket as it says in the FAQ below

*** Priority Scheduled Queuing will be priorty timed sessions for Captain Autographs. NO Virtual Queue ticket required.

No gold passes do have to pay, they just don't need VQs. Most people that will need VQs however are the people having to pay for stuff, like me with my standard tickets. A VQ itself is free, just a little ticket. You pay when actually going up for the auto.

For those of you who may be slightly confused about the Virtual Queue tickets, here's a post from a FAQ from a previous convention:

To help cut down the amount of time you have to spend standing in a queue, SM have introduced a virtual queuing system. When you go to meet one of the busier guests, instead of everyone standing in an "real" queue you will be handed a ticket with a number on it (your Virtual Ticket). This number is your position in the "virtual" queue. Only around 30 people stand in the "real" queue. You can join this "real" queue once your position in the "virtual" queue is reached. Think of it like taking a number in a doctors waiting room. You will know your position is reached when your Virtual Ticket number is called.

This system means once you have your VT for a guest you are free to wander around the event, join other queues and get other VTs. This system is only used on the busier guests, for the quieter guests you will just join the "real" queue straight away.

Note: You do not pay for the Virtual Tickets they are free. You pay per autograph when you come back and join the "real" queue.

Note: Virtual Tickets are given out ONE PER PERSON, you will only be given one ticket. If you want to get a ticket for a friend there is nothing stopping you from joining the queue again and getting another ticket, just remember it will only be one ticket for each time you queue up.

Note: Only a ticket holder will be able to join the queue once their number is called. If you are planning to accompany someone (to take photographs or help carry bags, etc) you will still need a ticket, even if you are not planning on getting an autograph yourself. This does also apply to adults accompanying children.

Virtual Ticket numbers for guests will be announced (in batches of around 30) once the previous group of people in the "real" queue have their autographs.

Once your Virtual Ticket number is called you can then join the much smaller "real" queue. There will of course still be some queuing involved in the "real" queue! If you don't want to have to keep going back to the guests queue to see what number they are up to, you can check one of the white boards around the hall. These are kept up to date every 15 minutes or so.

The numbers shown are for any number UPTO that number. You can go up anytime after your number is called. So if you have ticket number 100 and the board is showing 200, this is fine, you haven't missed your turn.

I hope this helps :)
