Hello everyone

After a long period of negotiation we can now confirm Buzz's photoshoot details.

Buzz will do one very limited photoshoot each day and this is priced at £50 per person.

Once again it will be first come first served so please book early to avoid missing out.

You can book on the website very shortly or call now to book via credit card or cheque and reserve your place.

Please confirm, am I reading this correctly.

Buzz is charging £50 per person in each photoshoot ie to get a photo of myself, wife and son in a picture with Buzz will cost £150? I'm sure I am reading it correctly but this seems like an astronomical hike on the £25 I think he was going to charge last year for 1 photo regardless of the amount of people in it.

I understand the ever increasing charge for his autograph as they can be sold on afterwards (though bizarrely now he charges more for his autograph than they can be sold on for and if you get a dedication there is an extra charge for an item that is, on the open market, worth less!). However, a hike from £25 to £150 for an item that is worthless to anyone other than the person in the photograph does seem odd.

I've met him 3 times over the last few years (twice at Autographica and once at the Leicester Space Centre). The first time at Autographica I got a signed item for my son and the last time at Autographica I opted for the photoshoot. I was hoping to go for the photoshoot option this time but fear I will have to tell my 7 year old son that he is not going to meet Buzz this time. Very sad.

I think I'm right in saying the price of the photoshoot was £50 for last years cancelled appearance and I think I'm also right in saying that with all guests at all Showmasters events you pay per person in the photoshoot so this is not something unique to Buzz Aldrin or Autographica.

I think there is sometimes an exemption with children if they are accompanied by an adult in the photoshoot but I don't know what the cut-off age is.

This may not make much difference to you but if you pay for three people in the photoshoot you will get three copies of the photo (I think).

Many thanks for the link. It seems as though this has been an issue in the past.

OK, questions for the organisers...

I would like to have 1 photoshoot pic of Buzz with myself and my 7 year old son so will the cost be £50 or £100?

Secondly, can I pay for the admission ticket(s) on the day or do I have to buy them in advance to qualify for the photoshoot?

Okay, as far as I am aware, Children under 15 can attend free with a paying adult including early bird according to the Autographica website.

However, I believe that would still require a photoshoot or Autograph ticket for them. They could go into the photograph studio with you so that they are not on their own, but not normally participate in the photoshoot without a paid ticket.

When two people want the same shoot they normally each require a ticket, but not only get a photograph each, but two poses (ie two photographs are actually taken and two prints made).

You can pay for admission on the day, even if you have already bought your photoshoot, but an admission ticket will be required.

However, if one of the other moderators etc can answer any better, that would be great

Hi Michael

Photoshoots are per person, the only exception is babes in arms. And before anyone jumps on that statement i mean very young still in the pram child variety not the other kind of Babe !!!!

If you pay for 2 photoshoot tickets you will get 2 photos taken. Children will need a ticket to get a photoshoot but do not need an entrance ticket. Everyone having a photoshoot will need an entrance ticket unless they are a child.

The price has always been £50 same as last year.

Hope that helps.

Dude, seriously if you bring a piglet to Autographica I'll pay the £50 for it's photo shoot

PS: but only if I get to borrow the piglet for 30 minutes whilst I get my money back selling photos with the piglet for £5 a time B)

Ok someone's got to say it

""Pigs in Space"

:)

Well if you guys think that's funny, Last year a guy asked me if he had to pay for a photoshoot ticket for his Flip Flops. I kid you not.

Mind you i had to think long and hard about taking his money.

In the end i relented and malcolm took a lovely photo of the guy and his flip flops.

I thought i needed a social life but this guy made me feel great.

Hi,

Sorry for the seemingly stupid question but im right in thinking that the option of having a photo with Buzz will 'sell out' and can not be bought on the day?

Hello Bob

Allowing for the fact that my crystal ball may or may not be accurate, The answer is if we sell all the allocated places for the Buzz photoshoot then no they will not be available on the day. If we have any left they will be available on the day. All depends on the speed at which they sell out. All i can tell you at the moment is that they are selling faster than last year and personally i would get one to make sure you have a place.

Thank you for your patience with such a naive question, Dave. I will sort it out later today. Appreciate that!! I currently have a pair of VIP tickets you see and i foolishly thought that i may get some sort of 'priority'.

You can tell im a newbie at all this.

Hi Showmasters,

I bought a photoshoot with Buzz.

Now what I have to do?

I received paypal recepit of payment, so, am i going to receive a sort of ticket by mail or just bring the recepit with me in Birmingham?

This will be my first autographica...so, can you tell me something about "free talk" and "lectures"...how are they planned? (Are they quite long or few minutes?..may I record with a camcorder? are there free questions or planned interviews?..etc...)

thank you very much,

sorry for my language, I'm not english...

Regarding the ticket procedure it's best if Dave gives you an update.

Talks are usually between 30 and 45 minutes. You can take still photos (unless otherwise allowed), but video recordings are not permitted. Both variants have been done, free questions and planned interviews.

Hi There

Photoshoot days for Buzz are not specific so you can pick later which day to attend.

Dave Phillips

How exactly do we choose which day we would like to attend the photoshoot, I am only attending on Saturday, is this done via email at some point?
