The longer you wait, the less picky you can afford to be ;)

Me and my hubbie booked the Aloft London Excel at the start of June........... no1 else has mentioned it here so guess we'll be on our own?!
Either that, or it doesn't really exsist..... worried now!
We found what i thought was a good deal on Trivago through onhotels.com, 2 nights (fri - sun) £176 including brekkie

Anyone else staying/ stayed there before?

x

I'm extra picky about where I stay, so if I stay for more than a night or I'm on my own, I go for the Novotel, which I've booked for DSTL. Best hotel I've ever stayed in!! Not the cheapest choice but I've time to save, and it's just me to think about, so I can indulge a little :-)
I've met so far: Joss Whedon, Christian Kane, J August Richards, James Marsters, Steve Carlson (from the band Kane) Amy Acker, Sarah Thompson, Jewel Staite, Nick Brendon, Dennis Christopher, Mercedes McNab, Anthony Head, Charisma Carpenter, Vincent Kartheiser, Felicia Day, Keith Szarabajka, Mark Lutz, Andy Hallett, Nathan Fillion, Danny Strong, Tom Lenk, Armin Shimerman, Clare Kramer, George Hertzberg, James Leary, Indigo, Iyari Limon, Sean Maher, Christina Hendricks, Morena Baccarin, Summer Glau, Mark Sheppard, Michael Fairman, William Roache (Ken Barlow in Coronation Street), Alan Tudyk, Stephanie Romanov, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet) Elizabeth Anne Allen, Robin Sachs, Anthony Montgomery (Star Trek Enterprise) Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley in Harry Potter) Neil Roberts (Charmed) Jonathan Woodward, Dayne Johnson (Make up Angel/Buffy) Brent Spiner, Christopher Lloyd, the stand up comic Stephen K Amos, David Tennant, Paul Blake, Eve Myles, Rusty Goffe, Paul McGann, Arthur Darvill, Mike Edmonds...

Hi Mike,

There are a group of us staying at the Crowne Plaza and we plan to hook up prior to the convention. For example, there is a plan for DSTL Eve Drinks on Thursday. If interested, come over to FB and join us. Link in my sig.

i booked 4 night ( thursday - monday ) at Ibis Budget London City Airport for £204.
but i read many bad things about it in the meantime ( smelling rooms, thiefs, rude personal etc ) so i doubt in the meantime that this was a bad decision.

It will be Ibis London ExCel Docklands for me and my wife, fair price for four nights (£250) and kinda close to the ExCel :D
We will be there on Saturday afternoon as we are going on Sunday only, the rest of the time we will enjoy London for a few days :)

Hi guys,

Me and my friend are booked into the Ibis in Leyton, £200 each for 4 nights so not too bad.

Apparently it's 7 miles away from the venue, hopefully that won't be too much of an issue lol.

Anyone else bunking there?

Well looked and looked for accomodation, it seems all the hotels on excel are pretty pricey now, so managed to book the hilton docklands riverside hotel, seems nice enough, managed to get the apartment for two for £280 for two nights, saturday and sunday, you also get the ferry to canary wharf for free and then jump on the ferry to excel. Thats the main thing sorted now, all i have to do now is see what else i can buy for the sunday at excel. Am looking forward to going and seeing everything and everyone on the sunday.

They still had rooms for £95 that was for 2 single beds, and many more.

Yes, I'll be there.  Looks likes it's very close from the venue map.  It is more expensive which might have put some people off.  But it looks like the coolest hotel from what I can tell.

Yaay!
I didn't think we could possibly be the only ones to stay there! It may be a bit more pricey, but we haven't had a holiday for over 18 months so we thought, why not!
It'll be nice to be close and you're right, it does look pretty cool!
