I'd book now before 1) they sell out and 2) they realise theres a big event going on and hike their prices up.

The Ibis across the courtyard is rather reasonable for London at the moment :)

New Travelodge opens soon also across the road, just booked Fri/Sat night in family room for £104.

Update to the hotel question posted in post 1.

I'm keen to get my silver ticket ordered but there is a small chance I may not make it as i am also moving to New Zealand at the end of the year. It's a really, really small chance (probably 0.2%) but it's there none the less. Are refunds possible minus handling fees etc just in case?

Thanks.

I just had confirmation that tickets are non refundable.

Hi there.  I've just booked my hotel room for a very reasonable £227 at the Premier Inn. For the Friday and Sunday prices were £55 and £63 (or something) respectively.  For Saturday it was £109.  Prices went up by £5 overnight as it was £223 last night.

I'm a long time user of Premier Inn all over the country and I've never had a bad night's sleep or a bad experience. It also has a restaurant, bar etc.  Last night there were double rooms, now there are only Family Rooms so it seems they're going fast already.

Further to my recommending Travelodge across the road from Excel, I'd like to say perhaps they're not such a good idea! Just spent an hour trying to get a refund as they debited my account twice for my booking!!!!!! Every time I have anything to do with them it seems to go wrong!

In addition the hotel isn't across the road, rather it is two stops away on the DLR! Only advantage is that it is new and only opens August 21st.

I have some questions, when will the tickets be released? A further question is would there be any additional fee for oversea delivering if I buy a ticket outside UK?

You mean when the sale starts or when the tickets will be sent?

The general sale starts April 30. The pre-sale for those that have registered has already started.

The site does not cooperate with me at the moment, but hopefully someone can post the info about postage. Normally the overseas delivery charge is higher.

If you mean the sending date please see TooTall's reply.

Can you buy entry tickets at the door on the day, or do you have to order them online?

As the tickets are being sold in advance, I would say that you could buy on the door on the day IF any tickets remain, therefore if interest is big then it could sell out (but I obviously don't know whether it will or not sell out).

As with any other shows, notices should put on the forum if ticket sales are getting low.

We can't gaurentee that as SM aren't selling the tickets. It's See Tickets for this event. So SM may not have real time numbers like they do with their own shop.

This being my first Con leaves me with lots of questions.

Could someone please let me know what usually happens at the parties?
are they worth the money/effort?
how long do they usually last?

Thanks :)

Ah fair, enough, sorry TT. Everything beign on the forum is making me slip into SM event mode :D

As for the parties: Partying happens! Hehe usually there is a DJ, a bar or 2, dancing, some activities (in the past there have been mechanical bulls and such), themed decorations.

Depending on where the parties are for this will depend on what we get. We might even get live music in the form of a band on one of the nights, we never know. Hey if they get the guests that make up the Enterprise Blues Band maybe they'll perfrorm!

Lots of people usually dress up for the parties too, usually based on the theme.

And overall, they are just a great place to mingle with other attendees, get to know new friends and have a great laugh :) And hey, sometimes even guests pop along to hang out and enjoy themselves too  :YAHOO:

Hey Mark :YAHOO: good to have you on board!

Party tickets should be on sale separately at some point.

Will do, will start a post about the party on FB.

From experience how much do the party tickets cost roughly?
