I did Manchester cause its about a hour on the train South for me, followed by Birmingham as thats about 3 hour drive South. Then none of the above as their all pretty far and places I've never really been to. Used to love Collectormania Gmex as it was so close to home. I'd say do one at Blackpool but I don't wish my fate on any of you even just for a weekend

Although I'd like Edinburgh and Birmingham as those are two cities I enjoy visiting, I'd really love one in Newcastle, as it is the only choice I could actually get to and back in one day, thus dramatically increasing my ability to attend (I work Sundays, so this limits my options).

I voted

1. Norwich (because it's close by)
2. Birmingham (because it's well connected)
3. Newcastle (because I went to Uni there and need little excuse to return)

but to be honest I think Showmasters should concentrate on ironing out the issues with the existing events (photo pickup, guest location and comfort, visitor comfort and safety, queuing and so on) before expanding into new locations.

Edited by Rainbowchazer, 04 June 2012 - 01:31 PM.

LFCC highlights: Corey Feldman, Kevin Sorbo, the Dalek.

Collectormania highlights: William Shatner, Anthony Head, the two Coreys, Kenny Baker, Warwick Davis, Sean Astin.

Wishes and hopes (aka a gal can dream...): Viggo Mortensen, Rutger Hauer, Kevin Bacon, Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine.

Darth Vader was on form at C18, with witty quotes on subjects ranging from cheese snacks to the etiquette of addressing a Lord of the Dark Side.

My opinion. Given for free and worth what you pay for it.

I wish we had a suitable venue in Portsmouth, but we don't. So as close to as possible would be good.

I would go for Newcastle or Leeds

I'm half way between the two. All the CM seem to be down south with the exception of Glasgow so it would be nice for us northerners to have somewhere a bit more local

None of the suggested, Peterborough would be good for me and they have quite a large shopping centre which could potentially be a good venue.

Surprised there's not one in Birmingham, HOWEVER, I think you should cater for all the UK and add to Wales and NI in the future.

I had a dream last night that there was a Newcastle Film and Comic Con and the headline guest was Natalie Portman.
If it comes true I am going to point everyone back to this post to marvel at my premonition......

Just as a pointer, I know most people up North would be willing to travel to somewhere like London for big events, but I don't know anyone down here who would be happy to travel all the way up there.

Have to admit that I'm stunned that collectormania in Coventry didn't take off. The first show had Robert Englund, Ernie Hudson, Bruce Campbell!!!!!! If those names alone wetent a draw then what would be, not to mention everyone else who appeared there, it was the greatest day outside of birth of my kids ever, meeting the mighty Bruce, my life was complete :-)
My Favourite Guests - Danielle Harris, Bruce Campbell, William Forsythe, Robert Englund, Ernie Hudson, Zach Galigan, George Romero, Doug Bradley

The Wish List - Kane Hodder, John Carpenter, Ted Raimi, Bruce Campbell (again), Ron Pearlman, Jeff Bridges, Greg Nicatero

It's gotta be Southampton for me, and being from Pompey, i find it hard to vote for Southampton
in anything, but it would so convinient.
It would cut down on all the travelling, which i personally don't mind, but the kids struggle a little with travel sickness.
Also Southampton have nothing like this, so the event would have an air of uniquity about it.

Bring on Southampton (Never thought i'd say that)

People in have interviewed since May 2012:

Nick Frost, Gareth Edwards, The cast of Teenwolf, Frazer Irving, Johnathan Ross, Gail Simone,

Gareth Edwards, Noel Clarke, Mark Buckingham, Pascale Hutton, David Giuntoli and most recently

my personal favourites Karl Urban and Alex Garland.
