I have watched the first two (or is that three, as the first is two parts?) tonight. I thought it was much better than I feared it would be.

There was bound to be young kids/teenagers. Even JP had them.

the JP kids are far better than some of the silly teenagers in this lol, ep1 his son did my head in! and the teenagers were very cliche.

but that aside I did enjoy it

did you notice the blatant old school sg1 music being used as the theme?

Yes! There was one scene which struck me as being very Stargate-esque musically. I meant to go back and check afterwards but forgot.

I didn't notice this and wish I still had the episode to watch now

I googled after reading this though and found someone who cut a bit of music from Stargate and Terra Nova which I'll link to below, is this the same music you mean or were there other themes stolen too?

I must be getting easy to please in my old age. I'm still enjoying it, even though it is far more dino-lite than I would have hoped for. In fact it's so dino-lite it's almost as if they are extinct.

the cast are whats keeping me interested along with the possibility of the political arc thing they keep hinting at, but would I still be watching without the magnificent stephen lang? im not sure. its got enough to keep me till the end of series one, then we will see.

yes you are right hardly any dinos and when they are used the dinos dont really act like you would expect and seem only to do things as script in that particular scene requires changing entirely later on what they can do and how and why.

too many plots feel like we have seen them in trek, sg1 ect a thousand times also

could do without the teenage shenanigans, brewing hooch, running away, boy - i love the girl i left behind, you remind me of her so i love you to - girl oh ok lets hook up, blah. im more interested in taylors relationship with that hot kick ass lead soldier!

also the taylors son thing is interesting.

is this coming back?

spoilers --

the finale was ok, I was p****** that we didnt see the epic battle, im also sad that hot soldier is no more :-( great scene though, but again I wanted taylor to at least sniper one of them out on there retreat in retaliation.

taylor is still kick ass and i like the arc with his son and the oooh what could it mean reveal is sorta interesting from the last scene (well last before the dull family star gazing last scene) I would deff continue to watch it if it came back BUT at the same time, I wouldnt be too bothered if it was cxl.

an ok series with flashes of greatness but too amateur/cliche in alot of its plots and execution on the screen.

Maybe not a surprise as the networks won't seem to give any sci-fi type show any kind of chance anymore. Shows don't become successful straight away, the actors need time to gel, the writing needs to develop etc etc.

I liked it. thought it was an interesting idea, well implemented with decent characters etc. Had a way to go to get really good but it was very watchable and there was some decent action.

That'd be a good call. Think he cancelled before because of filming TN. Would be great to meet him.
