I really can't wait for this event - it's going to be EPIC! I love that the cast are asking to come - that's great news!! This is what I'm saying why limit it to 6 its 10 years of Lord Of Rings this should be a celebration of a lot more guests than 6 people, its probably down to £££ it always is but don't get me wrong im not complaining i would love to meet anyone from Lord of The Rings, however if the money is there i hope its not just 6 guests and that they go all out and get as many as possible There is something else to consider. Time. The current format of the schedule works very well with the normal 4-6 guests. Autographs and photoshoots take place in the morning. Talks/stage activities/guest encounters in the afternoon. With more guests time may be an issue in ensuring that every attendee gets their autograph/photoshoot etc. I am not sure if this is related to timings but a previous Hub had 10 guests. Some were there for only one day, and not all of them took part in photoshoots. For me, while I got all my autographs/photoshoots/etc, everything felt a bit more rushed than normal. Additionally what if there is a guest or two that signs slowly. Rainbow Sun Francks at Chevron 7.3 (4 guests) for example. Great guest but quite possibly the slowest signer ever. He ended up having extra autograph sessions in the afternoon which meant that some attendees then missed parts of the talks/etc. Also factor in that there probably will be a larger than normal amount of attendees to get through as well. While it would be great it just may not be feasible to have a large number of guests. Not without compromises made in other areas in which some attendees may lose out on something. Showmasters Admin showmasters Posted December 23, 2010 Author Showmasters Admin Share Posted December 23, 2010 we plan to have 4 to 6 guest if we sell 300 to 400 tickets but if we sell more then we would add more , soem guests would be main cast and some would be background cast . as we are a long way out its really down to the fans , how many want to come and letting more fans that do not know about these event know that its happening and getting into a weekend con with other LOTR fans . i think we will get around 300 to 400 at this first event but as i say if we get more fans attending we will spend the income back on making the and book more guests , so let everyone know about the event so let your friends on facebook know and do the same on at twitter . lots mort to come on this con in 2011 see you all there jason Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
timelord81r Posted December 23, 2010 Share Posted December 23, 2010 (edited) id be disappointed if it were only 4 guests. also im not gonna be able to book blind with no announcements or no main cast. i mean 10th planets invasion this year had what 10 guests in a one day event, all doing photos and autos and plenty of talks so its poss to have more than 4 or 6, though yes that con was not as busy as the lotr one will be maybe for this a change of format, some day 2 of ME cons have talks with guests that were done on day one, yes the format is changed but merge that into day 1 and u have more time for photos and autos with more guests. in my head I rekon the line up will be something like frodo, merry, pippin, Éowyn and a couple of back ground ppl. thats just what I imagine it will lean towards. i guess 3/4 hundred is possible, but a tent pole guest needs to go up early to draw in the on the fence ppl Edited December 23, 2010 by timelord81r Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
