Hey, just wondering does anyone know and cheap taxi services in Brum. I need to get from Digbeth bus station to the Hilton. Was planning on either walking to new Street train station (15 min walk, them 10 mins after getting off at NEC) or waiting around for the x900 bus (40 min wait), but from what I've seen of the weather it's ment to rain around the time I'm due.

Cheers

For the price of the taxi... its much MUCH easier and cheaper to walk across to newstreet, and get the train to birmingham international - the hilton is like 2mins away from the station. and trains run fairly regularly from newstreet to international. - J x

A taxi from Digbeth bus station to the Hilton will cost you about £20 or more.

You're best bet if you're not willing to pay that much is to go with the advice of getting a train from New Street to International. There should be loads of signs between the bus station and the train station, but if not just ask someone they are bound to know the way to new street station

Yeah theres pleanty of signs - failing that head for the giant silver bubbly thing (the bull ring) or ask ppl... its like a 5 min walk, nothing to stress over! and coming out of birmingham international station, theres signposts for hilton. - J x

ok so i'm going to attempt to go from memory here.... walk out of digbeth... walk up past the chinese supermarket place, when you get to the bit by the supermarket go to the left insteasd of straight on, go up past the car park thingy and then you should get to some traffic lights and the bullring markets, then walk up past st martins church (it's really pretty and old) then go into the bullring down by nandos and pizza hut then go left at burger king and go up the esclators when you get to them and just keep going up to the top then leave through the main entrance and you should see the huge bull, theres a little ramp thing behind the bull between the glass barrier and some shop i don't know, go down there and past the tourist information bit and you should see New Street from there... tis pretty big and right next to the big TK maxx :) ..... i have no idea if my directions made any sense at all lmao

Follow the road up to where it says "Selfridges", enter the bullring, then go to the top floor (via escalators) walk past debenhams straight into the palasades (its all part of the same building) down the escalators next to Subway and you're in new street station. No need to walk all the way round THATS what will take you 15/20 minutes :) If you get lost in the bullring due to all the shops, just ask for directions to debenhams, then when you reach debenhams just ask which way is to the pallasades :) It sounds confusing on here but it's a fairly easy route! x

Make sure you enter the doors with pizza hut on the right of you :) Nandos on the left.

Friendly cars and TC are the best/cheapest.

not sure TC cover that area =/ i know they do like Kingshurst, Chelmsley, tile cross and all that local crap but do they go as far as the hilton??

But their number is: 0121 770 2000 and they usually are friendly :) mum always used to use them for the tiny trip home from like aldi and morrisons :)
