Hummm, saw ep 1 tonight from series 9 that showed mon night. really liked it, love the new characters of dimitri and beth, BUT im not happy about this thing they shoved at the end with lucas, it can really only be 1 of 2 things, first he was john before lucas and has a checkered past before he was recruited into mi5 and before captured in russia and somehow this all was missed when he was recruited, or second spooks are gonna employ the face off style of technology and he is not lucas and some sort of russian spy whos had surgery to look like lucas, I dont like either but the second is just stupid for spooks. see where it goes but no not happy with that, it felt shoehorned in also. but other than that enjoyed the ep, always liked spooks, rarely has it ever had any bad moments, although of recent years you can see its had a budget cut. but the eps are still good.

It is called a teaser. That is what Spooks does and always has done. Why bring it in at the start of the episode when doing at the end makes sure people tune in.

like I said always liked spooks even with budget cuts, like teasers but this felt forced and got a feeling im not gonna like it, some how harry dont know about his past before mi5? humm. bit like ruth finding from nowhere the evidence on the ex home secretary lol, took a bit of digging lol. but i can live with that, not sure im gonna liket he lucas stuff. but will see.

Spooks Code 9 was done in the way it was as it was a topical way tying in the 2012 Olympics and terror attacks. I personally liked the different route it took and explanations used. It was different and still had some ties to the main Spooks.

spooks code 9, hollyspooks, felt alot like hollyoaks in many ways, lots of bad things lol, just pretty ppl. lol, i wanted to like it but really didnt, although some of the main cast I liked. was jsut very silly in alot of ways, some really bad acting and scripts. i see what they were trying but its an idea that should of been done after spooks ended perhaps, with one of the leads having to rebuild with the kids or junior agents)
if the lucas thing is a past cover job coming back then Ill be ok lol, but if its something like he isnt lucas really (not the lucas harry knew before capture) then i wont be happy, lol I hope the spooks writers are reading this lol ;-)
still love spooks, still hoping tom comes back at some point, something like he is working private sector, couldnt keep away or something like they need someone off the grid to help with a rescue or one of the team, harry perhaps and they go to tom for help, would be cool. always liked tom.

Watch Spooks from the beginning. The very beginning. Ignore Code 9 as it does not fit into the main Spooks time line. Find me a storyline that was out of place. Find me a scenario that failed to work within the series, the current real life world or the combination of the two. Look at the in fighting between Allies like Israel, the USA and the UK - that happens. Look at relations with Russia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan etc and see that reflected in the show.
Spooks is as close as you are going to get to the real thing. There is nothing there that makes me go..."that would never happen".

spooks, still good but not great like it used to be, but im still loving it, still not sure on lucas, I dont like that he maybe a traitor, I dont like that he set up an innocent college,, what the hell was he in the past as john, why is he still lying to that woman he loves? who was john? whats going on? now he has hacked into mi5 and set someone up I cant see a good ending for lucas, especially with ruth on his tail!

still not sure why the chinese assassins are after him from a few eps ago, still not happy he is a traitor (as such) and from the trailer at for the next ep looks like he gets decommissioned in disgrace perhaps? but although im not happy about his character arc this year it is being done well, what exactly is his past that no one knows about? who is was his name working for "michael" is it who is after albany, who exactly is he?
great to see malcolm back, and great that he knew gave a fake to lucas, I wonder what it is albany?
so im a little confused without going back, this american security system they were installing, is it now installed? would that happen in real life, MI5 installing us systems? if it is then thats f***** up. but I did like the little dig at current affairs saying uk tech is out of date, cos at least front line it appears it is, or at least thats what the news likes telling us
i really wanna see tom back, after lucas leaves in disgrace harry finds tom who is a security expert or something for a firm, says how bout it i need someone i Can trust and who can do the job, tom says he doesnt know what came over him, hes missed it and is sorry he burned out but can now handle it and comes back, perhaps?

humm, so the lucas plot was better than I had feared and up until after the interrogation with harry believable i think but how he ends seemed to stretch credibility for the character dealing with the chinese ect and what he does to facilitate that, its not the man we grew to know or had become regardless of the back story. but still decent enough, liked how it ended with him as everyone was expecting something else on that roof top.
now the harry situation for the next series, humm, i really hope he comes out of it, spooks isnt spooks without harry, like 24 without jack,
REALLY liked the new guy "specialist" alec, hope he becomes section chief next series, glad its coming back
one thing, did I hear right, the chinese are gonna say they stole it and it works and the uk are ok with that? WTF? lol, glad it wasnt real, harry would never do that, not even for ruth and if he did it would devaluate his entire history. what he did knowing it didnt work is believable and understandable, if it worked then no way harry would do it.
