Thoughts from Saturday

Well for me I had a great day. Met the 2 members of the Red Dwarf cast (My friend was the one who asked what does 'smeg' actually mean xD) and Dominic Keating was cool aswell. Was greatly disappointed that Joe Flanigan didn't make it but the Red Dwarf guests certainly were a hit.

The Night is Day crew did a good job at advertising, looked rather interesting.

One thing though who else was bidding on the David Hewlett canvas at the auction. I almost got it for £25 but he just had to say that was cheap and so someone outbidded me, was a bit gutted at that :D

I thought the whole thing was great (again).

Every guest that I spoke to was really nice, and I especially loved talking to the Red Dwarf guys, as I have been a fan of that for years!

Hope next year they can get Kryten and the male Hollie, as that would be the complete set for the Glasgow fans!

Crew, guests and public all seemed to be happy and on top form.

As I have noted in another discussion thread, they could have had the male Holly (Norman Lovett) as he is in Edinburgh for the Festival. However, he is doing a signing session at Forbidden Planet in Edinburgh next Saturday at 4pm which he has arranged himself. Details can be found on Norman's facebook page.

Would bins not be down to the venue itself? I'm not sure.

well in terms of LFCC and CML yes, deffinitly down to the venue.

the mk dons stadium seemed like venue but an overnight or after doors clean, glasgow i assume would be like the dons stadium but surely down to the venue, EC&O the venue def do the bins, EC during the show and over night for sure.

Had a great time. All the guests were very nice and no one seemed to be rude or have an attitude.

Enjoyed all the talks, wish Paul Freeman had done a talk thou.

Stalls were good and a bought loads of stuff including an A-Team Van...sweet!

Paul Freeman was a joy to meet due to my massive Indiana Jones obsession.

He signed my Belloq vintage action figure and instead of asking him about Indiana Jones i asked him about the Jean Claude Van Damme movie he was in Double Team.

I asked him what JCVD was like and his first worlds were Ar**hole, which was funny....he proceeded to say that Mickey Rourke and Dennis Rodman were also nutty as fruit bats and it was like being trapped in an asylum making that film.

Top guy!

All in all an excellent day was had, got my pic with Paul and Chris and went home a happy man.

Saw a few faces i regonised from the forums but as usual i am too socailly retarded to say Hi so i apoligise.

Thanks Showmasters for a great time, i hope it was a success for you guys so that it may continue and grow.

Gonna be a long wait till next August.

Take care all

Craig :D

This years was my least favourite, but tis nobodies fault..just lack of guests for me and no money.

Plus the fact I had one of the best days of my entire life on the 16th..just days before lol...and I'm looking forwards to ET4 and its kinda taken over my excitement..just couldn't get into glasgow am afraid.

I DID however, have an ace time meeting up with friends from Tomb Raider Forums, and we had a really fun Saturday night as well.

From what I've heard, though, next year will be epic.
